Stuart Sailfish ldquoSaltwater Sistersrdquo fishing tournament and Awards Dinner

Friends In Pink is partnering again with the Stuart Sailfish Club for a fishing tournament to generate funds for the Stuart Sailfish Club Scholarship Fund Friends In Pink Recipients and Windsor Community Angels We need Silent Auction items preferably relating to fishing We will also need volunteers for the many events at the marina in Stuart on this weekend If yoursquore inter-ested please email our President at cncforfipgmailcom with ldquoVolunteering for the Saltwater Sistersrdquo in the subject line

They say that ldquoseasonrdquo is over but wersquore not really buy-ing into that As you will see when reading this mes-sage we have a full and busy schedule ahead of us the next few months

Already half way into our year and thanks to the gen-erosity of our many donors and incredible volunteers wersquove continued to financially assist 38 recipients in 2014 Kudos to everyone Special gratitude and saluta-tions to Taylor Anderson and Keiser University

Itrsquos fundraising time again Several events are in the spotlight However we never forget how important our regular contributors are So thank you in advance of your wonderful support - Margiersquos Cardio for Cure Sentiments Zinga Bloomingdeals Vero Beach High School Soccer team Womenrsquos Council of Realtors of Stuart-Martin County Zumba with Teri and many more Friends In Pink recipients receive the treatment they need because of you

ITrsquos BACK On Saturday Aug 30 2014 the Seventh Annual Friendship Luncheon will be held at Tradition Town Hall from 1130 am to 2 pm Last year Friends In Pink created our first recipient video honoring the people that we help It was our ldquo2013 Signaturerdquo effort made in cooperation with Dr Cynthia Crawford of Vero Beach and Anthony Ignacio and company from Holly-wood CA You will see it in its entirety this year at our luncheon Tickets invitations and sponsorship informa-tion will be available soon

Those of you who wish to win a Massage Envy gift card can enter our contest simply by procuring sponsor-ships for this event Keep an eye on Facebook and our new website for the details The highest dollar value of sponsorships will win If you wish to participate on call-ing on prospective sponsors or have identified a possible sponsor you would like someone to reach out to feel free to ring me at 772-871-9289

The Luncheon Chair Person this year is our own Jean-nette Weiss Wersquore looking forward to her expertise to make this a grand success but as you know it takes more than one person to make our Friendship Luncheon

The Stuart Womanrsquos Club has created a wonderful event for fellow nonprofits this year Itrsquos called the ldquoChar-ity Mascarade Dance Partyrdquo and will be held at a great venue Fred Astaire Studios The idea is to provide an event similar to ldquoDancing with The Starsrdquo where many charities can come together and raise money for their missions While itrsquos not a real dance competition yours truly will kick off the Birkenstockrsquos and sneakers to dance with a professional to raise money for Friends In Pink recipients at the Kane Center in Stuart FL on Oc-tober 18th There will be a super Silent Auction I donrsquot know what the other nonprofits are bringing but Johnny Walker Blue will be the star of our auction item

We need volunteers to assist with the pre-dance party on September 27th selling tickets processing pledges at the event and assisting with event sponsorships Please contact me if yoursquore interested in helping at this event at cncforfipgmailcom with ldquoVolunteering for Dancing eventsrdquo in the subject line

On the following weekend of October 24 and 25th 2014 Stuart Sailfish Club will be having the Saltwater Sisters fishing tournament to benefit the Sailfish Scholarship fund and Friends in Pink We are delighted to be work-ing with these ladies again Stay tuned for details of the event Already this is proving to be a huge success with interest from Yacht Clubs as far away as Indian River and Palm Beach Counties What a great way to finish out Breast Cancer Month Needless to say we will need volunteers to corral our auction items and assist with tournament activities

As you can see we have an active summer of preparation amp celebration and a fun amp exciting September and Octo-ber All leading to 2015 our 10th anniversary

Friends in Pink was pleased to receive a donation from Keiser Universityrsquos Port St Lucie Campus The money was raised during a dress down day in which students are allowed to dress down by donating to the charity fund Samantha Ratcliff the charity liaison with Keiser University said ldquoStudents love being able to dress down while at the same time knowing they are helping a local charityrdquo Pictured are Keiser University staff members Leslie Haviland Associate Director of Student Services John Hooker Director of Student Services Samantha Ratcliff and Dr Tom Creola Keiser Campus President

This year and last the St Lucie County Fair Board honored Friends In Pink by naming us their charity for the fair We had a lot of fun and opportunity to tell a lot of local people what Friends In Pink is all about Thank you St Lucie County Fair Board This year was extra special because we were able to meet the ldquoMiss Rodeo Floridardquo organi-zation These ladies are the official ambassadors and spokeswomen for the professional sport of rodeo Led by Ms Sandy Steinruck their president they are very supportive of our cause and are interested in doing a collaborative event in the future

Taylor Anderson with Kathy Harwood and myself That young lady (14 years old) donated a substantial check to benefit our recipients and solicited others to do the same We received over $1500 as a result of her fundraising efforts

Despite a tough battle with breast cancer Martersquo McKeon volunteers regularly for Friends in Pink She volun-teers regularly to pick up change that is dropped at our donation boxes at Turnpike Service Areas We started with two and now we have four They generate $3-5K a month One bag of coins which can be 2-3 boxes of coins can weigh 20 pounds or more One run generates at least 16 bags sometimes more Lifting and carrying that much weight is no short order To help her out her family assists with these runs At least one member goes with her to help 2 times a month And they attend our volunteer meetings including her husband Kevin Thatrsquos why theyrsquore all ldquovolunteerrdquo of the quarter

The Stuart Womanrsquos Club has created a wonderful event for fellow nonprofits this year Itrsquos called the ldquoChar-ity Mascarade Dance Partyrdquo and will be held at a great venue Fred Astaire Studios The idea is to provide an event similar to ldquoDancing with The Starsrdquo where many charities can come together and raise money for their missions While itrsquos not a real dance competition yours truly will kick off the Birkenstockrsquos and sneakers to dance with a professional to raise money for Friends In Pink recipients at the Kane Center in Stuart FL on Oc-tober 18th There will be a super Silent Auction I donrsquot know what the other nonprofits are bringing but Johnny Walker Blue will be the star of our auction item

On the following weekend of October 24 and 25th 2014 Stuart Sailfish Club will be having the Saltwater Sisters fishing tournament to benefit the Sailfish Scholarship fund and Friends in Pink We are delighted to be work-ing with these ladies again Stay tuned for details of the event Already this is proving to be a huge success with interest from Yacht Clubs as far away as Indian River and Palm Beach Counties What a great way to finish out Breast Cancer Month Needless to say we will need volunteers to corral our auction items and assist with tournament activities

As you can see we have an active summer of preparation amp celebration and a fun amp exciting September and Octo-ber All leading to 2015 our 10th anniversary

Friends in Pink was pleased to receive a donation from Keiser Universityrsquos Port St Lucie Campus The money was raised during a dress down day in which students are allowed to dress down by donating to the charity fund Samantha Ratcliff the charity liaison with Keiser University said ldquoStudents love being able to dress down while at the same time knowing they are helping a local charityrdquo Pictured are Keiser University staff members Leslie Haviland Associate Director of Student Services John Hooker Director of Student Services Samantha Ratcliff and Dr Tom Creola Keiser Campus President

This year and last the St Lucie County Fair Board honored Friends In Pink by naming us their charity for the fair We had a lot of fun and opportunity to tell a lot of local people what Friends In Pink is all about Thank you St Lucie County Fair Board This year was extra special because we were able to meet the ldquoMiss Rodeo Floridardquo organi-zation These ladies are the official ambassadors and spokeswomen for the professional sport of rodeo Led by Ms Sandy Steinruck their president they are very supportive of our cause and are interested in doing a collaborative event in the future

Despite a tough battle with breast cancer Martersquo McKeon volunteers regularly for Friends in Pink She volun-teers regularly to pick up change that is dropped at our donation boxes at Turnpike Service Areas We started with two and now we have four They generate $3-5K a month One bag of coins which can be 2-3 boxes of coins can weigh 20 pounds or more One run generates at least 16 bags sometimes more Lifting and carrying that much weight is no short order To help her out her family assists with these runs At least one member goes with her to help 2 times a month And they attend our volunteer meetings including her husband Kevin Thatrsquos why theyrsquore all ldquovolunteerrdquo of the quarter

The Stuart Womanrsquos Club has created a wonderful event for fellow nonprofits this year Itrsquos called the ldquoChar-ity Mascarade Dance Partyrdquo and will be held at a great venue Fred Astaire Studios The idea is to provide an event similar to ldquoDancing with The Starsrdquo where many charities can come together and raise money for their missions While itrsquos not a real dance competition yours truly will kick off the Birkenstockrsquos and sneakers to dance with a professional to raise money for Friends In Pink recipients at the Kane Center in Stuart FL on Oc-tober 18th There will be a super Silent Auction I donrsquot know what the other nonprofits are bringing but Johnny Walker Blue will be the star of our auction item

On the following weekend of October 24 and 25th 2014 Stuart Sailfish Club will be having the Saltwater Sisters fishing tournament to benefit the Sailfish Scholarship fund and Friends in Pink We are delighted to be work-ing with these ladies again Stay tuned for details of the event Already this is proving to be a huge success with interest from Yacht Clubs as far away as Indian River and Palm Beach Counties What a great way to finish out Breast Cancer Month Needless to say we will need volunteers to corral our auction items and assist with tournament activities

As you can see we have an active summer of preparation amp celebration and a fun amp exciting September and Octo-ber All leading to 2015 our 10th anniversary

Friends in Pink was pleased to receive a donation from Keiser Universityrsquos Port St Lucie Campus The money was raised during a dress down day in which students are allowed to dress down by donating to the charity fund Samantha Ratcliff the charity liaison with Keiser University said ldquoStudents love being able to dress down while at the same time knowing they are helping a local charityrdquo Pictured are Keiser University staff members Leslie Haviland Associate Director of Student Services John Hooker Director of Student Services Samantha Ratcliff and Dr Tom Creola Keiser Campus President

This year and last the St Lucie County Fair Board honored Friends In Pink by naming us their charity for the fair We had a lot of fun and opportunity to tell a lot of local people what Friends In Pink is all about Thank you St Lucie County Fair Board This year was extra special because we were able to meet the ldquoMiss Rodeo Floridardquo organi-zation These ladies are the official ambassadors and spokeswomen for the professional sport of rodeo Led by Ms Sandy Steinruck their president they are very supportive of our cause and are interested in doing a collaborative event in the future

Despite a tough battle with breast cancer Martersquo McKeon volunteers regularly for Friends in Pink She volun-teers regularly to pick up change that is dropped at our donation boxes at Turnpike Service Areas We started with two and now we have four They generate $3-5K a month One bag of coins which can be 2-3 boxes of coins can weigh 20 pounds or more One run generates at least 16 bags sometimes more Lifting and carrying that much weight is no short order To help her out her family assists with these runs At least one member goes with her to help 2 times a month And they attend our volunteer meetings including her husband Kevin Thatrsquos why theyrsquore all ldquovolunteerrdquo of the quarter

They say that ldquoseasonrdquo is over but wersquore not really buy-ing into that As you will see when reading this mes-sage we have a full and busy schedule ahead of us the next few months

Already half way into our year and thanks to the gen-erosity of our many donors and incredible volunteers wersquove continued to financially assist 38 recipients in 2014 Kudos to everyone Special gratitude and saluta-tions to Taylor Anderson and Keiser University

ITrsquos BACK On Saturday Aug 30 2014 the Seventh Annual Friendship Luncheon will be held at Tradition Town Hall from 1130 am to 2 pm Last year Friends In Pink created our first recipient video honoring the people that we help It was our ldquo2013 Signaturerdquo effort made in cooperation with Dr Cynthia Crawford of Vero Beach and Anthony Ignacio and company from Holly-wood CA You will see it in its entirety this year at our luncheon Tickets invitations and sponsorship informa-tion will be available soon

The Stuart Womanrsquos Club has created a wonderful event for fellow nonprofits this year Itrsquos called the ldquoChar-ity Mascarade Dance Partyrdquo and will be held at a great venue Fred Astaire Studios The idea is to provide an event similar to ldquoDancing with The Starsrdquo where many charities can come together and raise money for their missions While itrsquos not a real dance competition yours truly will kick off the Birkenstockrsquos and sneakers to dance with a professional to raise money for Friends In Pink recipients at the Kane Center in Stuart FL on Oc-tober 18th There will be a super Silent Auction I donrsquot know what the other nonprofits are bringing but Johnny Walker Blue will be the star of our auction item

We need volunteers to assist with the pre-dance party on September 27th selling tickets processing pledges at the event and assisting with event sponsorships Please contact me if yoursquore interested in helping at this event at cncforfipgmailcom with ldquoVolunteering for Dancing eventsrdquo in the subject line

On the following weekend of October 24 and 25th 2014 Stuart Sailfish Club will be having the Saltwater Sisters fishing tournament to benefit the Sailfish Scholarship fund and Friends in Pink We are delighted to be work-ing with these ladies again Stay tuned for details of the event Already this is proving to be a huge success with interest from Yacht Clubs as far away as Indian River and Palm Beach Counties What a great way to finish out Breast Cancer Month Needless to say we will need volunteers to corral our auction items and assist with tournament activities

As you can see we have an active summer of preparation amp celebration and a fun amp exciting September and Octo-ber All leading to 2015 our 10th anniversary

Friends in Pink was pleased to receive a donation from Keiser Universityrsquos Port St Lucie Campus The money was raised during a dress down day in which students are allowed to dress down by donating to the charity fund Samantha Ratcliff the charity liaison with Keiser University said ldquoStudents love being able to dress down while at the same time knowing they are helping a local charityrdquo Pictured are Keiser University staff members Leslie Haviland Associate Director of Student Services John Hooker Director of Student Services Samantha Ratcliff and Dr Tom Creola Keiser Campus President

This year and last the St Lucie County Fair Board honored Friends In Pink by naming us their charity for the fair We had a lot of fun and opportunity to tell a lot of local people what Friends In Pink is all about Thank you St Lucie County Fair Board This year was extra special because we were able to meet the ldquoMiss Rodeo Floridardquo organi-zation These ladies are the official ambassadors and spokeswomen for the professional sport of rodeo Led by Ms Sandy Steinruck their president they are very supportive of our cause and are interested in doing a collaborative event in the future

Despite a tough battle with breast cancer Martersquo McKeon volunteers regularly for Friends in Pink She volun-teers regularly to pick up change that is dropped at our donation boxes at Turnpike Service Areas We started with two and now we have four They generate $3-5K a month One bag of coins which can be 2-3 boxes of coins can weigh 20 pounds or more One run generates at least 16 bags sometimes more Lifting and carrying that much weight is no short order To help her out her family assists with these runs At least one member goes with her to help 2 times a month And they attend our volunteer meetings including her husband Kevin Thatrsquos why theyrsquore all ldquovolunteerrdquo of the quarter

Friends in Pink was pleased to receive a donation from Keiser Universityrsquos Port St Lucie Campus The money was raised during a dress down day in which students are allowed to dress down by donating to the charity fund Samantha Ratcliff the charity liaison with Keiser University said ldquoStudents love being able to dress down while at the same time knowing they are helping a local charityrdquo Pictured are Keiser University staff members Leslie Haviland Associate Director of Student Services John Hooker Director of Student Services Samantha Ratcliff and Dr Tom Creola Keiser Campus President

This year and last the St Lucie County Fair Board honored Friends In Pink by naming us their charity for the fair We had a lot of fun and opportunity to tell a lot of local people what Friends In Pink is all about Thank you St Lucie County Fair Board This year was extra special because we were able to meet the ldquoMiss Rodeo Floridardquo organi-zation These ladies are the official ambassadors and spokeswomen for the professional sport of rodeo Led by Ms Sandy Steinruck their president they are very supportive of our cause and are interested in doing a collaborative event in the future

Despite a tough battle with breast cancer Martersquo McKeon volunteers regularly for Friends in Pink She volun-teers regularly to pick up change that is dropped at our donation boxes at Turnpike Service Areas We started with two and now we have four They generate $3-5K a month One bag of coins which can be 2-3 boxes of coins can weigh 20 pounds or more One run generates at least 16 bags sometimes more Lifting and carrying that much weight is no short order To help her out her family assists with these runs At least one member goes with her to help 2 times a month And they attend our volunteer meetings including her husband Kevin Thatrsquos why theyrsquore all ldquovolunteerrdquo of the quarter
