Evian water, a 9 oz bottle is $1.49. That’s $21.19 per gallon of water and the buyers don’t even know the source Evian spelled backwards is Naive.

Ever wonder why computer printers are so cheap? So they can hook you for the ink. Someone calculated the cost of the ink at $5,200 a gallon.

How naive have we become?

by Don DavesThe Cascade Renegade Riders is a group of about

83 motorcycle enthusiasts from all walks of life and who meet at the Lynnwood Eagles. A high percentage of them are also members of the Lynnwood Eagles. We would like to thank the Lynnwood Eagles and each and everyone who came on Saturday, April 23 to support the third annual benefit for The Burned Children’s Recovery Foundation.

In this one evening, there was more than $18,000 raised. Yes $18K, that’s definitely not bad for a seven hour event.

This brings the total raised by the CRR with the help of all of the sponsors, volunteers and donors to $22,618.39. And we’re not done yet. We still have two benefit rides, one with cards and one more event to try and edge closer to the

phenomenal amount raised in 2015 which was just shy of $29K.

This money goes to help send the burned children to Camp Phoenix in August. At Camp Phoenix on Lake Samish, just south of Bellingham, the children get a week to enjoy themselves, get educated on ways to deal with the circumstances that they’ve been dealt, how to succeed as a person and learn that their scars are only skin deep.

Anyone who may be interested, is invited on August 21 to go with us up to Camp Phoenix. You’ll have a chance to meet some of these exceptional children, have lunch with them and just let them know that we care.

For information about Camp Phoenix, contact me, Don Daves, at [email protected].

Happy June fellow Aerie 2888 members and welcome to a fun filled month.

The Trustees that have returned to fulfill one more year Anthony Jansen, Dave Stering and Don Daves, hope to welcome a couple of new Trustees, (To be appointed by the president) on board very soon, as there’s still a lot to be done.

We’d like to thank those officers that have helped out and volunteered their time to help keep the club in order.

If you’re interested in stepping up and helping to lead the Lynnwood Eagles, now and in the future see the president Jerry Heide.

There will be a Father’s Day breakfast Sunday,

June 19, with the father’s receiving a free breakfast if you’re a member of Aerie 2888.

The Trustees would like to send out a huge thanks to all of the volunteers, (this includes more nice plaques by Arnold), that step up time and time again to help this fine club move in a positive direction.

Thanks Anne for your positive direction as we move toward the peak of the hill.

Bingoby Vicki Eames

I would like to thank Arnold and Helen Smith for their wonderful donation of the food for our fourth Monday dinner this month. It was wonderful. The cake graced many homes after bingo, as people brought it home to share with their families.

Join us at the club on Monday evenings starting at 6:30 for bingo and potluck dinner and camaraderie playing bingo. There is always a place for you, your family and friends to play. We play a total of 11 games. Nine games are $1 for each game card and two games are $2 for each game card. On two of the blackout games you have the opportunity to win $250. We had another $250 winner this past month.

We are family friendly, which means kids and

teens can also come and play bingo. There is a bingo board working in the bar area, so you can also participate from there. The games are open to the public, so you don’t need to be a member to attend and we welcome everyone to join us on Monday nights.

Another way to win is to have a bingo on the “Cookie Jar” number, that pot is up to $147. Another way to win is the 50/50 raffle. The winner is awarded 1/2 of the money we collect each week.

Please try to bring small bills as we can have difficulty changing many large ones.

It has been nice to see the new faces who have joined us. Welcome!

Remember on the fourth Monday dinner is provided. We welcome all of you!

As chaplain for the Aerie, I would like to ask Eagle members to let me know about any serious illness, surgeries or unfortunate events in your immediate families. If you have a close relative or you know of an Aerie 2888 member who passes away, it is important that we know in order to offer Aerie support when life becomes difficult. Leave a message at the Aerie office for the Chaplain or email me at [email protected].

“If I cannot speak well of an Eagle, I will not speak ill of him”

We say this at every Eagle meeting in every Aerie. Is it just lip service or do we mean it? Let’s all try to do a better job of abiding by these words and their meaning. I think we could all improve our understanding of its meaning and abiding by its truth. I am going to try, how about you?

As of Thursday, May 19, the Joker Poker Jackpot exceeds $7,100. Only 10 cards remain. All players must be a current paid member of Lynnwood Eagles #2888.

Anyone who is a “regular” participant in our Bingo nights will be eligible for a special drawing. Bring two or more guests on June 20. The “regular” participant will be entered into a drawing for a bottle of wine. You receive one ticket for bringing two new people to play bingo that night. If you bring three people you will receive two tickets, four people three tickets, etc.

Thanks to Arnold and Helen Smith for their donation of the bottles of wine which lets us do this for three months.

Happy Father’s Day to every dad, grandpa and papa everywhere. Here’s hoping that your day is as special as you are. Whack that ball, drop the line, or just sit back and let everyone wait on you. You deserve it.

Todds and Hansons were our wonderful hosts for our first outing this year at Pioneer Trails in April. There were 15 rigs and two motelers. The weather was terrific, the food outstanding and the campground excellent. It was a pretty laid back weekend until Saturday night. We had team Pictionary. What a blast. Didn’t know that we had so many artists. The guesses, remarkable from what was drawn. Throughout the weekend, there were Trivia questions and our knowledge about Washington State, camping/RVing and one more. Thank you so much Sandy, Susan, Bob and Dana for such a wonderful weekend.

Over the mountains we go this May. We are headed to Prosser to wine country. Our hosts are the Palmers and Browns. Don’t whine, but wine it up, because this is the land of the vineyards. There will be lots of wine tasting events by the local wineries and other activities happening during the weekend. More info next month.

Help! We need a few more Wagonmasters to

host a couple of outings this year. Don’t worry, outings will not be canceled, but the outing may be a “No host outing.” Hitch up with another couple and step up to the plate and lead our merry group for a weekend. Contact Denise Robertson.

You are still just a kid, so blow out all your candles and make a wish and we’ll all sing happy birthday to you. Sharon K, Peg J, Connie P and Cindy B. Looks like June was a good month to get Hitched. Celebrating the life style of wedded bliss: May and Marv, Dave and Joanne, Dana and Sue, JD and Ellie, Jim and Mei, Marlene and Fred, John and Kay, Bud and Connie and KC and Maria. Happy anniversary to you all.

Special Rays of Sunshine was sent to Ginny H. She spend a few day in the hospital last month but is well now. A dear friend passed away in May. He was a very special guy. He and his wife were long time members of the Square Wheels Camping Club. He also was the chairman of the Holiday Baskets for the needy during Thanksgiving and Christmas for many years at the Lynnwood Eagles. We, who all knew you, Tony Perez, will miss you. Our deepest sympathies go out to his wife, Reidun and his family. Should you know of any of our members not feeling

up to par, contact Dixie and she will be sure to send out the club’s special Rays of Sunshine.

It is so hard to say farewell to any of our members, but we must do it this month. Farewell, KC and Marie and kids. They have been transferred to Oregon for three years. Good Luck on your new adventure. Also Farewell to Tom and Barbara Palmer. They are full-time RVers who spent the winter here. They are on their next adventure across the country again and will winter in Florida. We will miss you all.

Meet our newest members to our merry group. Welcome Collin and Sharan Smith. Hope you enjoyed your first outing with us at Pioneer Trails. Looking forward to seeing you a lot this camping year.

Our club is always looking for new members. We are a fun group who like to get together once a month, March through October. We love to play cards (all kinds), swap stories, see what’s in the vicinity and just enjoy each other’s company. We meet the second Thursday of each month except Dec., Jan. and Feb. Our meetings are at the Lynnwood Elks Lodge starting at 7 p.m. The only requirement is that you like to have fun and be a member of either the Elks or Eagles. Come and check us out. Dues are only $10 per member. We’d love to meet you.

Reminders: Our next monthly meeting will be on June 9 starting at 7 p.m. at the Lynnwood Elks. We usually meet earlier and have dinner at the Lodge. The food is really good. So come and enjoy some great food and wonderful company. Mark your calendars, the date and location is set. Our 2016 Christmas dinner will be on Dec. 17 at the Lynnwood Lodge. More info when the time gets closer.

Remember to support your Fraternal Order. It is your Club and they need your support. Stay safe on the highways and byways of RVing.
