This is now an annual event and the children all really enjoy learning about dierent jobs and visiƟng a variety of places of work including Year 2 visit to Shoreditch Fire StaƟon, Y3 visiƟng the Bank of England, Y1 visit to Dalston Library, Year 4 visit to the NaƟonal Theatre, Year 5 market place sale which takes place this aŌernoon, and Year 6 wowing city bankers in the Dragon’s Den! Thank you also to the many parents who came in to share stories and informaƟon about their jobs with the children. Also, Year 5 conƟnued with their chess lessons this week. Each week they learn a new move and strategy and then the children and adults play games against each other. The sessions are led by a chess tutor from Chess in Schools. There will be a Chess Club starƟng aŌer school and at lunchƟme in the New Year. Today, the children in the Children Centre, Nursery and RecepƟon are all taking part in the Children in Need appeal by wearing their pyjamas to school! The children were all very excited about not wearing their uniform, and were thrilled to see their teachers wearing pyjamas to school as well! Thank you also to all the parents in Year 1 and Year 2 who came to the Maths Workshops yesterday and today. They were well aƩended and hopefully gave informaƟon on how the children are taught Maths in school so you can help your child at home. There will be 3 more sessions over the next few weeks –look out for more informaƟon and texts to remind you. The Book Fair has also started this week. It will be aŌer school, and for the full length of the Parents’ Evening on Wednesday 20th November. Please support the school to raise money for books to stock our school library. Also, if you have not already signed up for an appointment to see you child/ren’s class teacher, please sign up on the yellow board that will be outside the Year 1 class or in the main playground. As you may well know, the Millelds Christmas Single, ‘CHRISTMAS’ is now available to buy as a CD or download on itunes. It is a very catchy song as you know, so you may hear staand children conƟnually humming or singing this over the next few weeks! The nal video will be released next week, and as ever if you know anyone in the media, anyone famous or inuenƟal –please pass on the details! Check the website, yers, posters and texts for informaƟon on how you can help to raise money for our new playground! Christmas Single Update - HELP US GET A NEW PLAYGROUND!

It has been a really busy and exciting week but we have done it! The song is now finished and available to download. The music video will be availa-ble next week. The press have started to show an interest. What we need now is for every Millfields family to do everything they can to spread the message around Hackney, the UK and even the world so that 1000s of people buy our download. So please make time as a family to have a look through this list this weekend and do as many of the following as you can. 1) Like our Facebook page, Share it with your friends. Comment on our postings. https://www.facebook.com/#!/millfieldscommunityschoolfundraising

Follow us on Twitter. Re-tweet our messages. @MCS_Hackney Watch, like and comment on the YouTube promotional video (we have already had over 1600 views!) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKUlmE-HdA0 2) If you are not on Facebook and/or Twitter please send an e-mail to everyone you can think of giving them the links and asking them to do all or any of the above. 3) Visit the webshop and order copies of the CD, the Christmas Cards and the whole school photo. Ask family to do the same. http://www.millfieldscommunityschool.kartel.uk.com/ 4) MOST important – download the single (it’s only 99p) on iTunes (just search “Millfields”) and ask your friends/family to do the same. Leave a customer review when you purchase (click on the photo to access) – this helps our profile and encourages other people to buy it as well. We need to sell A LOT of copies if we are going to make any impact on the charts! We will be adding extra outlets soon. 5) START A BUYING CHAIN - Buy a copy of the song for a friend on iTunes using the "Gift this song" option - ask them to leave a review and buy a copy for one of their friends – and so on! 6) Put the leaflet that your child brought home earlier this week in your window. 7) We are also looking for volunteers to post leaflets locally – if you can volunteer for the road you live on please contact [email protected] asap letting her know how many copies you need. To everyone who has been working on this project – a heartfelt thank you. Everyone involved has been so generous with their time, expertise and resources and we’ve done it! Now we just need to get the world to fall in love with it……and BUY IT! Any queries e-mail [email protected] and she will point you to the right person on the project team. THANK YOU! This article will be posted on the school website so you can go through to the relevant links more easily.

Would you or your business like to sponsor the printing of our Christ‐mas raffle tickets?  If you can donate prizes please let us know.Pierre Larue mill‐[email protected] (or on 07940 399171).
