FRIDAY 19TH MARCH
Red Nose Day / Comic Relief
29th MARCH – 4TH APRIL World Autism Awareness Week
THURSDAY 1ST APRIL Last Day of Term
2ND – 16TH APRIL EASTER HOLIDAYS
We believe there is no other provision that could understand our son’s learning and social
needs in order to meet them effectively. He feels a strong sense of belonging in the school and
is a part of it which is wonderful.
Please remember that we remain a nut-free school.
We kindly request that you do not send your child to
school with nuts, or products containing nuts, for
their snacks or in their packed lunches. This
includes breakfast bars, sweets, cereals and
spreads such as peanut butter and Nutella.
Please also check food labels - it is not widely
known that some items, such as pesto, contain nuts.
We currently have 4 pupils with an anaphylactic
reaction to nuts and nut products - people
with anaphylaxis can react to spores in the air or if a
person walks in to a room who has just eaten
something containing nuts.
Thank you for keeping our school safe.
Thank you for your co-operation in making our
school environment safe for all.
If you want to donate £1 or £2 for Red
Nose Day you will be able to do so via
Parent Pay rather than sending cash
into school. All you need to do is click

Crazy hair day! Style your hair in the craziest way
you can, the sillier the better! This can include exciting
styles, colours (non-permanent) or accessories.
Wear red clothing or a red nose! You can wear a
red nose, a comic relief t-shirt or just something red to
show your support.
Funny poetry/Rap competition! Write your best
poem or spit your best funny rap. Hand them in to
your tutor and share them with your class. Prizes
given for the best entries.
Yesterday, once again, was testimony to the dedication of our team! We rallied in true
St Dominic’s style and fully embraced this significant day on our school calendar.
Through the range of fun activities, pupils and students were able to see the huge
importance we place on reading, which is one of the most important skills our learners
need to master as they progress through school and move towards independence.
Prizes for the various activities and for the best costumes were awarded to pupils and
students throughout the day which then ended with a light-hearted award ceremony
for staff who had dressed up for the occasion.
Once again, thank you so much everyone! An excellent day which shone light on an
otherwise challenging time.
