Patrick James Lynch is an award-winning actor, director, producer, and host living with severe hemophilia A. As CEO of the digital content agency Believe Limited, Patrick is responsible for community programs such as “Powering Through,” “Stop The Bleeding!,” “The BloodStream Podcast,” and “The Teen Impact Awards.” Patrick is also the director of Bombardier Blood [2018], a feature-length documentary following mountaineer Chris Bombardier’s historic summit of Mount Everest.

Dr. Katherine High is a hematologist and was a professor at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania for 22 years. In 2014, Dr. High helped co-found a gene therapy company, Spark Therapeutics, where she currently serves as President and Head of R&D. In 2017, the FDA approved Spark Therapeutics’ Luxturna®, an AV vector for the treatment of a rare form of congenital blindness. Dr. High is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She has published over 200 scientific papers, and holds a number of patents related to gene therapy. Dr. High will share information regarding hemophilia treatment and gene therapy.

Chris Bombardier found the magical world of outdoor experiences after completing a degree in Biology, and ultimately decided to pursue his dream of climbing the Seven Summits. To make this dream a little more interesting, Chris also happens to live with the chronic medical condition hemophilia. Through his blog ‘Adventures of a Hemophiliac,’ Chris shares how he overcomes this challenge to pursue his dream. Chris recently completed his final climb of the Seven Summits, becoming one of only 450 people to ever complete this. Working with GutMonkey, he shares his passion with others living with chronic health conditions to empower them through experiential learning.

Meera Chitlur, M.D. is a practicing Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist in Detroit, MI. Dr. Chitlur graduated from Bangalore Medical College in 1992 and has been in practice for 25 years. She completed a residency at Henry Ford Health System. She currently practices at University Pediatricians Hematology/Oncology and is affiliated with DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan and DMC Harper University Hospital. Dr. Chitlur serves on the Medical Advisory Committee of the national Foundation for Women & Girls with Blood Disorders.

Annie Phillips, LMSW has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from DePaul University and completed her Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Michigan. Annie developed her passion for working with underserved communities while traveling and working abroad, specifically teaching in rural Korea for a year, following her undergraduate career.Annie currently works in The Children’s Hospital of Michigan Hemophilia Treatment Center (HTC) in the Hematology/Oncology Clinic as thehemophilia and bleeding disorders social worker. She provides psychosocial support to patients and families who have chronic bleeding disorders.

Dazzling Dave, national yo-yo master, travels the world teaching and entertaining kids of all ages with his yo-yos and spin tops. Kids and teens will be amazed and thrilled at this fun and special HFM evening. Other activities will be facilitated including camp games and arts and crafts. (Auditorium 2)

Our youngest children will be cared for in the Elizabeth Ann Ballroom at the hotel by a dedicated group of staff. We will provide meals and snacks and a variety of age appropriate toys and play stations.

You are welcome to visit your child any time; you can take them with you for lunch or bring your lunch to the room to visit with them.
