FRIDAY 3RD MARCH 2017 GORDONBROCK WEEKLY
Museum of Ancient Egypt To showcase their fantastic
learning all about Ancient
Egypt, Year 3 organised and
showed parents around their
very own museum. The
children were excellent tour
guides and demonstrated
everything that they have
been doing over this term in
Topic. We wrote our own
invitations which in the
words of year 3, promised,
“jazzy jewellery,
mesmerising mummies, and
amazing artefacts!” Our
visitors especially enjoyed
dressing as pharaohs for the
Ancient Egypt photo booth
and making their own canopic
jars from clay. A big thank you
from all the children to everyone
who came along!
Year 3 Class Teachers
Music News.. This week, we were really excited to
welcome ‘Quintetta’ into school—a five-piece
brass ensemble from the Guildhall School of
Music and Drama.
They put on a concert for everyone in school,
and shared some facts about their
instruments with us.
We particularly enjoyed their performance
of ‘Maria’ and ‘Under the Sea’.
We all left feeling inspired and motivated to
practise our instruments at home!

Book review by Isobel, Sapphire 4
I really enjoyed this book, so I
recommend that you read this
book. It’s all about a girl who goes
to a zoo and feeds the penguins
and when she runs out of fish, she
decides to throw the bucket!
My favourite part was when she
throws the bucket.
