Welcome to the Young Norfolk Arts Festival 2014! Now in its second year, the 2014 festival is a celebration of creativity and performance, by and for young people in Norfolk.
We believe it’s important to provide an opportunity for young people in our county to share their artistic talents, express their creativity and of course, provide us with a feast of entertainment right on our doorstep!
Young people are involved in organising, performing and watching this year’s exciting programme of artistic events. From dance, drama and music to art, moving image, design and creative writing, we’re confident that this year’s line-up will provide something for everyone!
Most of the events listed in this programme are open to the public. For further details on booking and ticket sales, please see page 3 or visit the festival website: www.ynaf.org.uk.

Arabian NightsFriday 27 June 2pm & 5pmNo 68, The CloseTickets: free, booking essentialBox office: [email protected]
Norwich School pupils present a spellbinding production of Arabian Nights. The story tells the tale of Shahrazad, a young girl who brings to life the magical stories of One Thousand and One Nights. Her strange and wonderful tales take us to enchanted caves to meet secret sorceresses, singing trees, flying men and wise talking birds. But can the power of the stories break the terrible curse upon her land? Adapted from the world-famous folk tales, this performance is an imaginative delight that will enchant children and adults alike.

A wonderful opportunity to watch Shakespeare in the atmosphere of the ancient cloisters of Norwich Cathedral. Norwich School’s talented senior company reveals this beautifully crafted play based on Pandosto, a pastoral tale of magical realism. It explores the mystery of time, and the triumph of goodness over the destructive power of jealousy. Set in the mild winter sun of Sicilia and Bohemia, The Winter’s Tale is remarkable in its emotional truth, simplicity and timelessness, yet somehow its bucolic fun and comic characters endure.
