COBALT MEDICAL CLINIC is looking to fill the nurse practitioner position on a temporary full time basis starting approximately December 2016 for 1 year. If the nurse practitioner position cannot be filled RN applications will be considered.

POSITION SUMMARYThe NP/RN is a key part of the patient care circle and should be comfortable working to their full scope of practice. In addition to assisting with physician-managed care, the NP will also be engaged to provide care and services to patients independent of direct physician involvement. The NP will support patient care and the delivery of programs including but not limited to Palliative Care, Diabetes management, Prenatal, Newborn and Geriatric care. RN applicants will work within their scope of practice to support these programs.

ACCOUNTABILITYThe NP/RN is ultimately accountable to the family physician lead.

RESPONSIBILITIES• Completes health assessments, including a health history and physical

examination• Formulates and communicates medical diagnoses• Plays a key role in all areas of care - for example prenatal, newborn,

pediatric, adult, geriatric, palliative care and mental health care. • Monitors the ongoing therapy of patients with chronic stable illness by

providing effective pharmacological, complementary or counseling interventions

• NP: Consults with a physician in accordance with the standards for consultation with physicians, and/or refers the patient to another health care professional

• Works collaboratively with other team members to manage the needs of patients

• Shares results of assessment and intervention with referring physicians and other Team clinicians as requested within a specified timeframe

The Temiskaming Nordic Ski Club (TNSC) Open House is Saturday, November 19, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Members and nonmembers are encouraged to come to the chalet to visit and enjoy hot drinks and fresh-baked muffins. Executive members will be present to answer any questions you might have.

Please feel free to take a walk on the trails with your friends and family. France Laurin and Lynn Gibson will be teaching a Nordic Walking course at 1 p.m. with 10 spots open, on a first come, first serve basis. There will be Nordic walking poles available for use. The course is approximately an hour long.
