DAVESWAy Combining traditional folk influences with looping technology, Davesway’s solo show explores the limitations of a solo performance. So limber-up, choose a partner & be swept-away through the shining times.

SCOtt COOk & tHE SECOND CHANCES (Canada) A tirelessly travelling balladeer from the Canadian prairies, Cook has already completed three tours of Australia’s festival & folk club circuit, including two talked-about appearances at Yackandandah. This year, he’s returning with his trio The Second Chances, who embellish his sturdy, straight-talking songs with banjo, mandolin, upright bass & three-part harmonies.
SHANE HOWARD Solid Rock, from the album, Spirit of Place, recorded with his band Goanna, was written after a moving experience at
an Inma at Uluru in 1981. It has since passed into folklore & the Australian psyche. He pushed on, beyond commercial success, tirelessly pursuing an artist’s journey, in order to make sense of the story of a ‘whitefella’ in an Aboriginal country, with a passion for protecting this land of ours.
SquID DOCtORS Forming at a young age in high school, the Squid Doctors have since developed into a quartet of talented & experienced songwriters & performers, releasing their debut EP in late 2016 at SquidStock ‘16.

WE’RE CELEBRAtING 20 yEARS!
DEALING WItH WAStEEach year, the Festival generates about 80 wheelie bins of waste. That’s a lot of rubbish! Please think carefully about what you do with yours by:
• using the Waste disposal point- a staffed drop point located at the corner of High & Wellsford Streets. Your rubbish will be sorted into recyclable, compostable or land fill bins.
• using the correct Recyclable (yellow lid) & Landfill (red lid) bins located along High St (instead of the permanent council street bins). These will be serviced twice daily by volunteers who will swap them for empty bins & bring full ones to the Waste disposal point for sorting.
• using the Compostable (Green) bins at the Community Dinner & Food Court. This material will be composted locally in Yackandandah to make our gardens grow even better.
Please help us to achieve a truly sustainable Festival!
tOtALLy RENEWABLE yACkANDANDAH (tRy) In 2017, Yackandandah Folk Festival is again thrilled to be supporting Totally Renewable
Yackandandah (TRY), by committing 50% of this year’s surplus to the exciting renewable energy transition. TRY is working to transform the Yackandandah Community’s power supply to be 100% renewable by the year 2022. Until then, TRY have launched a Perpetual Energy Fund. Our contribution will be topping up this fund, which will then be used to underwrite the adoption of energy efficiency & solar projects around the area. Learn more at: totallyrenewableyak.org.au

Autumn is the peak season for wasp activity & nest building. Please guard your food & drink from wasps.
Our aim is to become a sustainzable & carbon neutral event. In 2014, in partnership with Yackandandah’s co-operatively owned petrol station, YCDCo, 3kW solar panels were installed. These generate more power annually than is used during our entire festival in the main venues.
