Steps to SUCCESSComplete steps 1-3 to be fully

Application/Student Login Instructions for SCCCD Students

To apply, go to scccd.edu/apply and click on the link for the college where you plan to enroll

• Scroll down and click on the CCCApply link. If you do not have an OpenCCC account, click on "Create anAccount" and follow the steps to create an account.Once you have created your OpenCCC account, click on the "Start New Application" link. Select the termyou are applying for and complete the application process, making sure to check that each section iscomplete before you press "Submit".

After you have submitted your application, you will receive two emails to the personal email address youprovided: the first from CCCapply confirming your account/application, and the second from SCCCD withyour student ID number. It may take up to two business days to process your application.

Once your application has been processed and you have received your student ID number by email, allfuture emails will be sent to your SCCCD email. See below for instructions on how to use your ID numberto log in to your student portal, which gives you access to your email, WebAdvisor, Canvas, and more.

Next Steps CHECKLIST Registering for classes is an important step in becoming a student at FCC, but there is still plenty to do after registration to prepare for the beginning of the semester. Here are some things you can do before classes start:

CHECK YOUR SCCCD EMAIL DAILY Your email is the primary method the college uses to send you important information including financial aid, registration eligibility, and deadlines. To access your email, login through the FCC student portal. For login instructions, visit scccd.edu/studentlogin.

APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID AND SCHOLARSHIPS Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.ed.gov or the California Dream Act application at dream.csac.ca.gov. If you need assistance, visit the Financial Aid Computer Lab in the Library (LI-123). Additional scholarships and aid may be available, visit fresnocitycollege.edu/financialaid for more information.

PAY YOUR STUDENT FEES Even if your tuition is covered by financial aid, there may be additional costs such as the health or ASB fee. Check the fee amount owed and the deadline in WebAdvisor or visit fresnocitycollege.edu/fees for more information, including how to submit your payment.

CHECK YOUR WAITLIST STATUS If you are waitlisted for a class during registration, make sure to check your SCCCD email daily for a “Permission to Register” message. You will have four days (including weekends) to enroll in the class using WebAdvisor under the New Student Links section, then Manage my Waitlist.

GET YOUR STUDENT ID* Your student ID has many benefits! Purchase your ID card in the Business Office located in the Old Administration Building (OAB-151) and take your student ID picture in the Student Activities Office (next to the Cafeteria).

PURCHASE YOUR PARKING PERMIT* If you need to park on campus, make sure to purchase a parking permit in the Business Office located in the Old Administration Building (OAB-151).

PURCHASE YOUR BOOKS AND SUPPLIES* Visit the Fresno City College bookstore online through fresnocitycollege.edu/ bookstore or on campus across from the cafeteria. You can use your printed class schedule to help you search and buy your books before classes start.

PRINT YOUR CLASS SCHEDULE Your class schedule includes the class name, date, time, location, and instruc-tor’s name. Make sure to print it before the semester begins in WebAdvisor, under the New Student Links section, on the left hand side.

SIGN UP FOR RAM READY Ram Ready is Fresno City’s new student welcome event where you will receive all of the information and services that you need to start your semester. You will be emailed during the summer when sign ups are available.

RegistrationInstructions

Follow these step-by-step instructions to register for your classes.

Step 1: Log in to My Portal on your college’s website. For login instructions, visit scccd.edu/studentlogin

Step 2: Select WebAdvisor from the apps menu. Once in WebAdvisor, click Log In, then click

Step 3: Click on Address, Email, and Phone Update to update your contact info

Step 4: Under the New Student Links section, click Search/Register for Classes

Step 5: Enter in the Term (Fall 2020), Subject, Course Number, and Location. Click You can enter in additional information to narrow your search such as days, start time, etc., but the fields listed above are required. **You can find the Subject and Course number on your SEP**

Step 6: Check the full class information to avoid registration errors by clicking the blue “Section Name and Title.” This will show additional lab times or important class notes located at the bottom of the class detail page. Check mark the course you would like to take then click at the bottom of the page.

Step 7: Choose the Action from the drop down menu: register or waitlist. Click

TIPS : • You must complete Step 6 to complete your registration.

If a course is listed as “Open”, the class is available to register. If it is listed as “Closed”, the class is full and a waitlist has not been started. You can waitlist for a class listed as “Closed” or “Waitlist” by choosing the “Waitlist” action on the drop down menu.

Financial Aid HELPFUL HINTS STEP 1 – THE FAFSA

1. Visit fsaid.ed.gov and create your FSA ID. An FSA ID is the username and password you’ll use to complete and sign your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

2. Your parent should create their own FSA ID. This will let them electronically sign your FAFSA. (Undocumented parents can’t create an FSA ID – they’ll sign your FAFSA on a paper form.)

3. Visit fafsa.gov and complete your FAFSA, as early as October 1 for the following school year. Be sure to add FCC (school code: 001307) to your FAFSA so we get your information!

Need help? Visit the Fresno City College Financial Aid Computer Lab for assistance. They’re in the Library building, room LI-123 and are open Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed 12-1 p.m.)

correct your FAFSA or bring documentation into the main ofce, or when your Financial Aid Award Letter is ready to view.

3. Bring any requested documents to the Financial Aid Ofce. We’re in the Student Services building on the second foor and are open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays until 6 p.m.

The Financial Aid Ofce is open all summer. Beat the lines and make sure your fnancial aid is ready before school starts by bringing your documents in from March through June.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION • Renew your FAFSA every year, starting October 1 for the

following school year.

• Fill out your FCC Scholarship Application from October 1 through March 2.

• Didn’t answer “yes” to Federal Work Study on your FAFSA? Sign up in the Financial Aid Ofce starting July 1.

• To maintain your financial aid eligibility, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (minimum 2.0 GPA, credit for at least 67% of the total units attempted, and have attempted less than 150% of the maximum cumulative units for your program).

2. A Personal Identifcation Number (PIN) will be created for your parent at the end of your Dream Act Application. This will allow your parent to electronically sign your Dream Act Application.

3. Visit dream.csac.ca.gov and complete your Dream Act Application, as early as October 1 for the following school year. Be sure to add FCC (school code: 00130700) to your Dream Act application so we get your information!

As a supplemental component of EOPS, CARE provides educational support services in addition to the college and EOPS services. CARE is a unique educational program geared toward the welfare recipient who desires a job-relevant education to break the dependency cycle. Te Puente program helps prepare students to transfer to four-year universities and to return to the community as leaders and mentors for future generations of students. Students commit to participate in one cohort within the program with English or math instruction, sustained counseling, and mentoring.

Te RAIN Program is a learning community designed to promote, in-spire and guide students upon entry, duration, and completion of their academic goals. Te program purpose is to provide a support system for American Indian and Indigenous people of the Americas, but is open to all students. Student Support Services Program (SSSP) is a free federal TRIO Program that serves frst generation, low-income, and disabled students. It provides high touch academic support and guidance to help FCC students meet the challenges in obtaining a certifcate, a degree, and transferring to a four-year college. SSSP serves 160 participants each project year.
