They will run until first frost HOTHOUSE TOMATO - Gourmet medley, yellow grape and Campari are available with good supply.HOTHOUSE PEPPERS - Red, yellow and orange hothouse bell peppers are still priced higher than normal.POTATOES - Yukon golds will be another 1-2 weeks for new crop. • GREEN ONIONS The green onion supply continues to be plentiful. Quebec green onion production is good Supplies are easily meeting demand with very nice quality.

• CUCUMBERS EAST - Cucumbers supply is tighter this week.WEST - The cucumber market is expected to remain steady throughout the week.

• BROCCOLI Broccoli supplies are starting to get tight as we are approaching a gap in supplies and lower yields due to the recent heat. Quality is fair.

• POTATOES Ontario has started with red and whites, with yellow to get going over the next week or so.

• ONIONS Size for yellow onions is running on the smaller size, jumbo, and medium. Super colossal and colossal yellow onions are limited with inflated markets.. Ontario red onions will start this week.

• LIMESThe lime industry is seeing an extreme shortage on lime sizes 110ct - 200ct. Growers are saying that large fruit 110cts, 150cts, 175ct, and even the 200cts will be extremely tight or non-existent for the next month or so.

• LETTUCES ICEBERG -Yields continue to be above average with multiple growers. Small, minimal defects include growth crack, insects and misshapen heads. The overall quality is good. Quebec iceberg lettuce continues with good supplies and heavy demand. The primary pack from Quebec is 24ct cello wrapped. Quality remains very good.ROMAINE / LEAF - There is a supply gap in the industry. Overall, supplies will be moderate at best throughout this week. The quality continues to be above average. Supplies of red and green leaf lettuces are stable with promotable volume available this week. Quebec green leaf, red leaf and romaine continue with good volume and strong demand.SPRING MIX, SPINACH & BABY KALEBaby leaf supplies are plentiful. Quality is good. ROCKET ARUGULA / WATERCRESSArugula supplies are very good with outstanding quality but that MAY change depending on the path of hurricane Dorian. Baby Red Kale will not be available for the foreseeable future. Bunched watercress quality and availability is good.

• APPLESMost shippers are gapping on Golden Delicious with a few shippers able to sub into Ginger Golds/Gold Supreme.

• BRUSSELS SPROUTS Internal decay is also causing lower yields. Ontario will start in mid- September and run through November.

• CELERY Good supplies celery is available for the entire week. Quebec celery continues with good supply and quality.

• CORNOntario and Quebec are going strong. Supplies will be plentiful until October, but pricing is expected to remain elevated due to extra demand from the US.

• AVOCADOSInventory levels have increased leading to a softening in the market. However, we are entering a lower demand period so barring any unforeseen circumstances, market conditions should be stable and trend lower into the fall.

• GOLD PINEAPPLES Worsening weather conditions are generating primarily water spotting and pale fruit.

• MELONCANTALOUPES - We are seeing good volume on large fruit end excellent quality melons. We are seeing limited offerings on smaller fruit this week. Ontario continues with good supplies and outstanding flavor.HONEYDEWS - Honeydew supplies are good this week. We are seeing a good demand on all sizes and an even stronger market/demand on the smaller fruit. The quality of the fruit internally and externally is great with great brix levels.

• TOMATOES EAST - Roma tomato volumes are light and better supply from the west is helping to ease the market causing pricing to ease from last week. Grape and cherry tomatoes are steady. Weather conditions continue to disrupt supply especially with tropical storm Dorian.WEST - It will still be a couple of weeks before harvests are expected to improve.

• STONE FRUITAs we move toward fall, we will see nectarines drop off first, followed by peaches, then plums are expected to last through October. As harvest slows down, sizes will become more limited.

• ASPARAGUSMarkets on both coasts are still very active, especially on the larger sizes. Supplies will remain tight.

• CAULIFLOWER Cauliflower supplies are plentiful as fields have come forward and yields have improved.

• MANGOESPeak sizing is on 6 count and 7 count with a few 8s per load. Sizing has shifted toward the larger sizes as we get into the tail end of the season.

• PEARSNew crop, Washington Bartlett pears are available. Storage Anjou pears are at their end and new crop will begin next week with good volume the week following.

• EGGPLANT EAST - Eggplant is in peak season with supplies coming from various locations.WEST - Quality is currently fair on retail grade and good on choice grade.

• PEPPERS EAST - Green pepper is in peak season with most supplies coming various locations.WEST - Moderate and good supplies of serrano, green, red and jalapeños.

• CITRUS - LEMONSWe’ll have another good week on lemon supplies, with the majority being imported fruit. Market prices on small size fruit continue to soften up on both choice and fancy fruit.

• BEANSBean supplies continue to improve, but are still somewhat tight. Snipped bean supplies are tight and are being pro-rated with good quality and triggered pricing.

• WATERMELON Local seedless continue with fairly good supply, especially on the large sizes, but with good demand from the US, prices are higher than last season. Yellow flesh watermelons are in good supply.

• ORANGES Demand for small Valencia continues to be very strong and the market continues to go up.

• BERRIES BLUEBERRIESBlueberries are still available in multiple areas. Quality has been good out of all regions except for some repacks showing some age.RASPBERRIESRaspberry availability has improved in the last few days and the market has relaxed to a steady-state.BLACKBERRIESBlackberries are more abundant than in previous weeks as we see good yields,STRAWBERRIESThe market remains steady with higher undertones as we see the yields drop.

• ZUCCHINI EAST - Zucchini supplies have been a lot lower for the past week, as cooler temperatures in the mid-west have slowed production.WEST - Good supplies are expected to continue on both through the week.

• GRAPES Now is the time to promote grapes. Heading into the first week of September, the grape industry continues the transition from the early red and green seedless varieties and into stronger mid/late season varieties.
