Frequently Asked Questions WA Health Aboriginal Cultural eLearning – a healthier future

2

1. Why do I need to do

this training?

This training course has been mandated by the Acting Director

General of Health, under Operational Directive 0599/15. All WA

Health staff are required to complete the mandated WA Health’s

Aboriginal Cultural eLearning training (ACeL).

2. Who enrolled me in

this training?

You have been nominated by your respective Executive Groups to be

enrolled in the Aboriginal Cultural eLearning – a healthier future

training course. Aboriginal Health at the Department of Health is the

administrator of ACeL.

3. What if I have

already done

Aboriginal cultural

learning training?

ACeL has replaced previous online cultural learning packages,

including SMHS’s ‘An introduction to providing culturally appropriate

services for Aboriginal people’ eLearning package, and NMHS,

CAHS and WACHS’s ‘Aboriginal health is everyone’s business’

eLearning package.

WA Health staff who have already completed one of the previous

superseded online cultural learning packages are required to

complete the ACeL training, but will have two years from 1st July

2015 to do so.

The development of the ACeL was supported by the WA Health

Senior Aboriginal Leadership Group and SHEF, and aligns with the

WA Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing Framework 2015 - 2030 and

with the WA Health Strategic Intent 2015 – 2020.

The ACeL is a mandatory training requirement for all WA Health staff

under Operational Directive 0599/15.

4. Why have I been

enrolled in other

training courses as

well?

If you have not previously been enrolled in WA Health’s other

mandatory training Accountable and Ethical Decision Making (AEDM)

and/or Recordkeeping (RAT), you may have been enrolled in these

training courses at the same time as being enrolled in the ACeL

training. This is because AEDM and RAT are also mandatory training

courses.

If you have been enrolled in AEDM or RAT but have previously

completed this training then please contact the relevant area and

notify them.

5. Can I do this from

home?

As the ACeL is mandatory, it should be completed within work hours.

6. How do I change my

password?

You can change your password by using the ‘Change Password’

option in the menu on the left hand side of your homepage.

7. How do I self-enrol?

Follow this link and select “Enrol” from the menu on the left. Follow

the prompts to enrol in the course.

http://www.techniworks.com.au/Host/Colleges/healthwa/index.htm

NOTE: You may already have a Techniworks account from previous

training courses including Accountable and Ethical Decision Making

or Recordkeeping. If so, then please login using the same login

details. If you cannot remember if you have an account or not the

system will recognise your email address if it is already attached to

an account.

8. How do I login? Follow this link and select “Login” from the menu on the left.

Enter your login details supplied to you in your enrolment email which

was sent to your WA Health email account.

http://www.techniworks.com.au/Host/Colleges/healthwa/index.htm

9. What are my login

details?

Once enrolled, your log in details would have been sent to you in an

email to your WA Health email account.

They will consist of:

User name/email address: This will be your WA Health email

address, for example: [email protected]

Password:

This is NOT the same password you use with your HE number to

login to the computer or internet (see question 13).

If you already have an active Techniworks password (i.e. in use

within the past two months) from another training course (e.g.

Accountable and Ethical Decision Making, Recordkeeping and/or

Disaster Management), your password will stay the same.

If you don’t have an active Techniworks password a new

password will be issued to you within your enrolment email.

If you cannot remember your password you can use the Email my

login details option.

10. What if I don’t

know my

password?

If you cannot remember your password you can use the Email my

login details option.

11. What if I don’t

know my user

name?

Your user name will be your WA Health email address for example

[email protected]

If you cannot remember your username you can use the Email my

login details option.

12. What if my email

address has

changed recently?

If your WA Health email address has changed recently due to a name

change please notify Aboriginal Health via email

[email protected] or call on 9222

4089 or 9222 4466.

13. Why can’t I login?

1. Ensure you are connected to the Internet.

If the below screen appears this is NOT the login to the training

course. The below screen is a login needed to access the

internet. This will require a local user name (usually your HE

number) and password (what you normally use to access a WA

Health computer, NOT the ACeL training password).

2. Double check that you have correctly typed in your email

address and have used the correct password.

Further login and enrolment instructions can been seen by clicking on the link below:

14. What if I don’t have

access to the

Internet?

Approach your manager and request temporary access to complete

the course online.

15. What if I don’t use

my WA Health

email account?

In order to do this training you must have a WA Health email account.

Even if you don’t regularly use your WA Health email account, in

order to be enrolled and if you have been told that you have been

enrolled you will need to check your WA Health email account in

order to see your enrolment details. Checking your email regularly is

in accordance with Operational Directive 0470/13.

16. Can I go back to an

earlier point in the

course?

Yes, you can use the Search button to navigate back through the

course.

17. Can I do this

training face-to-

face instead?

If you have a WA Health email and computer access you are

expected to attempt to complete this training online.

If you have difficulties using computers or do not have computer

access at work, alternative learning methods will be made available in

the future. Your local Learning and Development areas will have

further information once available.

18. What if I cannot

open a link?

In some instances you will not be able to access your organisation's

documents from non-work computers. This is due to these

documents being stored on your organisation's intranet.

19. What happens if I

log off?

When you resume the course, you will automatically re-enter where

you left off.

20. Do I have to enter

my answer?

There are screens where you'll be asked to enter an answer before

you can continue. You are not assessed on these answers. Their

purpose is to help you think about what you have learned or what you

know already.

21. What happens with

my answers?

Your answers will be saved for your personal use only.

22. What happens if I

do not pass the

assessment?

If you do not make the assessment benchmark the first time (18

correct out of 22 questions), you will be redirected to review the

module or modules relating to your incorrect answers and to redo the

questions that you answered incorrectly.

You can redo any incorrect answer as many times as required to

meet the benchmark.

23. Do I get a

certificate?

Yes. Once you pass the final assessment you will be able to print off

a certificate which you should keep for your person records and

professional profile.

24. What happens with

my assessment

results?

Your assessment results will be stored but not reviewed, unless

required.

25. Who has access to

my assessment

results?

Only the course administrators have access to the assessment

results.

26. Who do I speak to

for help?
