Frequently Asked Questions WA Health Aboriginal Cultural eLearning – a healthier future
2
1. Why do I need to do
this training?
This training course has been mandated by the Acting Director
General of Health, under Operational Directive 0599/15. All WA
Health staff are required to complete the mandated WA Health’s
Aboriginal Cultural eLearning training (ACeL).
2. Who enrolled me in
this training?
You have been nominated by your respective Executive Groups to be
enrolled in the Aboriginal Cultural eLearning – a healthier future
training course. Aboriginal Health at the Department of Health is the
administrator of ACeL.
3. What if I have
already done
Aboriginal cultural
learning training?
ACeL has replaced previous online cultural learning packages,
including SMHS’s ‘An introduction to providing culturally appropriate
services for Aboriginal people’ eLearning package, and NMHS,
CAHS and WACHS’s ‘Aboriginal health is everyone’s business’
eLearning package.
WA Health staff who have already completed one of the previous
superseded online cultural learning packages are required to
complete the ACeL training, but will have two years from 1st July
2015 to do so.
The development of the ACeL was supported by the WA Health
Senior Aboriginal Leadership Group and SHEF, and aligns with the
WA Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing Framework 2015 - 2030 and
with the WA Health Strategic Intent 2015 – 2020.
The ACeL is a mandatory training requirement for all WA Health staff
under Operational Directive 0599/15.
4. Why have I been
enrolled in other
training courses as
well?
If you have not previously been enrolled in WA Health’s other
mandatory training Accountable and Ethical Decision Making (AEDM)
and/or Recordkeeping (RAT), you may have been enrolled in these
training courses at the same time as being enrolled in the ACeL
training. This is because AEDM and RAT are also mandatory training
courses.
If you have been enrolled in AEDM or RAT but have previously
completed this training then please contact the relevant area and
notify them.
5. Can I do this from
home?
As the ACeL is mandatory, it should be completed within work hours.
6. How do I change my
password?
You can change your password by using the ‘Change Password’
option in the menu on the left hand side of your homepage.

face instead?

the future. Your local Learning and Development areas will have

you left off.

know already.

my answers?
Your answers will be saved for your personal use only.
22. What happens if I
do not pass the

module or modules relating to your incorrect answers and to redo the
questions that you answered incorrectly.
You can redo any incorrect answer as many times as required to
