Well, it is both easy and difficult at the same time.

Darwin Airl ine fl ies from Paris to Leipzig/Halle and Air France fl ies to

Nurembourg.

I f you can't find fl ights to Leipzig/Halle, take a plane to Berl in, Dresden or

Frankfurt am Main (and don't choose Frankfurt Hahn, it's real ly far away from

the actual Frankfurt). When you choose one of these cities you have way

more possibi l ities to get a cheap fl ight (Ryanair, Easyjet, . . . ) and you can also

spend a day there as well if you have the time.

PLEASE NOTE: There is no such thing as a main station in Jena,

please only choose either "Jena Paradies" or "Jena West" as your

destination. Don't choose any of the other train stations in Jena

because they are not close to the city centre.

Book in advance, then you might be able to get a "Europa Spezial"

price.

Further some special tickets that might be interesting for you:

Quer-durchs-Land Ticket - only valid on one day between Mondays

and Fridays but you can only take RB, IRE or RE, so no fast trains

Schönes-Wochenende Ticket - only valid on Saturdays OR Sundays

but you can only take RB, IRE or RE, so no fast trains

Länder Ticket - val id on every day of the week, also note that if you buy

a Saxony ticket it is also valid for Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt as well .

So if you land in Leipzig/Halle or Dresden, buy these tickets to get to

Jena but unfortunately they are also not val id in fast trains. . . .
