Who we are

THE DAY YOU’VE BEEN WAITING FOROVER 150 EXCLUSIVE

AND UNDISCOVERED FRENCH PRODUCTS

We are pleased to invite you to an inaugural, intimate trade tast-ing of more than 150 French products taking place in 5 cities throughout America! From Savoie to Burgundy, organic to

biodynamic, French Drinks is the portfolio tasting of alcoholic beverages to discover and add to your business offering.

Open only to importers and distributors, French Drinks is a free event featuring exclusive products available for import and/or distribution. While producers will not be present, a larger selection of wine, beer and spirits will be available to explore in a relaxed, no-pressure environment in the heart of a French Consulate or French Trade Offi ce.

How French Drinks works:1. Review the French Drinks catalogue and select what you would like to

taste. All information will be provided (prices, awards, labels, etc).2. Come to our intimate tasting to quickly determine which unique prod-

ucts fi t your particular portfolio.

If you are unavailable to attend, the catalogue will have the contact information for each producer to reach out and start discussion.

Our team — part of the French Embassy and based throughout the United States — will be pleased to show you these exclusive non-imported made-in-France products to help you prepare for 2015.

Since 1634, the Sparr Family has been writ-ing the story of Alsace wines. Passionate wine growers, generation has succeeded

generation and has perpetuated the passion for working the land and creating wine. Respect for the soil and its terroir, in a blessed-by-the-gods microclimate, requires constant reconsideration together with a great humility. Suit the vine to the “terroir”, give it all adapted treatments with a mastered sustainable viticulture, taking into

account the specifi city of each vintage, keep us involved every day. These demanding wine-grow-ing methods have become a true philosophy for the Sparr family. The wines of Domaine Baumann give voice to the grape variety, the soils and the vintage they are grown. The specifi city and the signature of the wines of the Sparr family lie in the will to create authentic wines, each vintage's special character being related to its concep-tion, its vine own expression.

Seppi Landmann is one of the great fi gures among the Alsatian vintners. Originality frenzied mar-ried to him with a sense of brotherhood and joy.

If his appearance and his Rabelaisian banter doesn't go unnoticed, his truculence conquers any audience that forms around him to listen to praise the Alsace Wine Valley Noble and Grand Cru Zinnkoepfl é. Seppi, iconoclastic winemaker. If Alsace winegrower families generally highlight their centuries-old roots, Seppi Landmann instead derives its legitimacy from its very personal journey. In the 70s, with only one hectare of vineyard in-heritance, a will of iron, a Viticulture-Oenology diploma issued by the Beaune Wine School in hand, Seppi starts crossing the U.S. from East to West by hitchhiking. Just back, and for the sake of balance and critical thinking he returned, this time in the opposite direction. During the Cold War, he travelled through the Soviet Union with the Trans-Sibe-

rian to go to China and Beijing specifi cally. The year 1982 was a milestone in the history of the Noble Val-ley; she sees the birth of la Cave du Vigneron Sep-pi Landmann leaving the cooperative and producing its fi rst vintage. Therefore, with the experience of its byways, Seppi Landmann initiates a very personal ap-proach of his vineyards and wines. He became quickly famous for its mythics cuvées :Vallée Noble, Cuvée So-phie Marceau, named after an award-winning French actress who picked some grapes on his property, Cu-

vée Erotic, Hors La Loi (an outlaw wine…!) Grand Cru Zinnkoepfl é, with much originality as he decided in 2011 to perpetuate his work and his signature, passing the torch to the Riefl é family that runs the organic certifi ed Domain Riefl é from Pfaffenheim. Seppi acts as a consultant to assist this new team in its evolution towards conversion to organic farm-ing in its domain and to promote his brand.

The Château des Fougères Clos Montesquieu vine-yard cultivates 30 acres of

Graves vines in La Brède (Bor-deaux region). The property belonged to descendents of phi-losopher, businessman and wine-grower Charles de Montesquieu who was the fi rst to champion the wines of the Graves region, and to build the reputation of the Bordeaux vineyards throughout France and in England. Most of the land is devoted to reds, divided between merlot (45 %) and cabernet sauvignon (55 %). Our long collab-

oration with Stephane Derenon-court allows us to introduce : Château des Fougères Clos Mon-tesquieu red Graves is aged in oak casks for 14 to 16 months, resulting in an elegant wine with distinct, refi ned fl avors. It comes from our vineyard's most gravelly

plots, and the majority of the production is matured in French oak barrels. Rouge Fougères Clos Montesquieu is a very appealing, fruity wine that is matured in tanks for 12 months. It comes from plots with highly varied soils, blending clay, gravel and sand.

The name “La Marzelle” already appears on a map from 1820 by Belleyme. The estate, however, is much older, as it was

part of the medieval Abbey de Faize. In 1998 the Belgian Sioen family comes at the helm of the cru. Château La Marzelle St-Émilion Grand Cru Classé has been classifi ed since the beginning of the offi cial St-Émilion classi-fi cation. The château extends its 17 hectares on an exceptional and confi ned terroir : The High Terrace of St-Émilion, the old river bed of the Isle. The soil is composed of sands,

gravels and rubifi ed river stones transported from the Massif Central. Château La Mar-zelle shares this terroir, a very narrow strip of land, with other prestigious crus : Pétrus in Pomerol, Cheval Blanc and Figéac in St-Emilion. Château La Marzelle is dedicated to producing wines in the most natural way. Since July 2013 the production is managed in accordance with the demands of the en-vironmental standard ISO 14001,rewarding the environmental efforts of the past fi fteen years.

Château de la Terrière is an 18-hectare (45 acre) vineyard, located in the largest of the 10 Beau-jolais Crus - Brouilly. The Château, built in the

13th Century, sits near Mt. Brouilly, an ancient volca-no looming 1000 meters high in plain view south of the estate. The soils are pure, rose-colored granite. The wine

estate was purchased by the Barbet family in 2003, a family of vignerons with roots going back 300 years. The vines range in age from 45 to 70 years old and are trained using the "gobelet" method, an ancient method of vine training involving no wires or other system of support, and resulting in a goblet-shaped growth.

In 1711 the mayor of Chénas, Jean Loron, began growing and producing Beaujolais and Mâcon wines. Two generations down the line in 1852,

Jean's grandson married one of the daughters of the Charlet family, who owned the Clos de Billards vine-yard in Saint Amour. Six generations later, the fam-ily is still fi rmly rooted in the region and producing great Beaujolais. The wines are made by Xavier and Gregory Barbet, direct descendants of the original vignerons. This is seriously old-school winemaking:

after hand-harvesting, the grapes undergo a long maceration in vats using only indigenous yeasts. The wines are then aged half in cement tanks and half in large old wooden foudres. Although delicious when young, the wines are incredibly age-worthy. A recent tasting of wines ranging back into the mid-1970's showed great intensity and complexity without any sign of fatigue. The Beaujolais region is fi nally getting recognition for its complex and elegant wines, and Barbet wines are no exception.

Passed down from generation to genera-tion, Paul-Vincent Ariston is following two centuries of wine making which

dates back to a legal act from January 13th, 1794. For fi ve generations, the family has been perfecting the Art of Champagne-mak-ing, mixing modernity with respect of skill and knowledge. The Aspasie estate is 12 hectares of the three grape varieties needed to produce Champagne. The older vines, at 35 years, dominate the site and give the best

quality fruit. Since the beginning, in 1794, the family has worked together to harvest and gently press the grapes in their own cellars before blending them to obtain the balance and fi nesse that is Aspasie. Resulting from traditional wine making ‘savoir-faire’, Cham-pagne Aspasie (named in honor of one of the family ancestors) are carefully selected. Through their delicate bubbles and complex aroma, they refl ect exigency and patience needed to produce great wines.

the capital town of the Champagne region, they draw off a solar Chardonnay : fruity, soft and round. They are both strongly attached to the family production and to the quality and special skills which the independent Winemakers Con-federation they belong to are famous for. The Cocteaux Champagne House is also a man-sized estate, whose priority is to satisfy their custom-ers in search of a pleasurable champagne.

Caves Languedoc Roussillon is currently one of the leading groups of dependent wine producers, both family-owned cellars and

cooperatives, situated in the large area of Langued-oc-Roussillon. Our aim is to offer to our custom-ers outstanding château wines only estate-bottled under the constant supervision of the winegrower and at very competitive prices regarding the price quality offered. Each year, our wines are recog-nized on the level of international competitions and

obtain more than 100 medals! Aware of the need to reduce the impact wine-growing has on the en-vironment at every level, some twenty years ago we decided to do something about it, and have there-fore been practising sustainable wine-growing using organic or integrated farming methods ever since. With the eco attitude charter, environmental issues are included in the specifi cations for all our prod-ucts, eco-friendly concepts that use only natural, recyclable materials.

The origin of the Château Tourril comes from an ancient gallo-roman signal tower located on the top of

the vineyard. It is located in the South of France between the famous fortifi ed city of Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi, both on UNESCO's World Heritage List. The 13-hectare family vineyard is nested in a clay- limestone corrie surrounded by Mediterranean

shrubland protecting the vines from dominant winds and frost. Well pro-tected and drained by rain waters it produces high-quality AOC Minervois wines from our Syrah, Cinsault, Cari-gnan, Grenache and Roussanne grapes. Thanks to continual investments the vineyard has full control of its produc-tion with modern winemaking technolo-gy and sustainable agriculture.

The Chemins de Bassac is a family domain (15 ha) which produc-es Côtes de Thongue (IGP) wines of beautiful expression. It is driven in organic farming (ECOCERT-NOP USA) since 15 years.

The production is sold to the export (60 %) and in France (40 %).

7 grape-varieties : 5 reds (syrah, grenache, mourvèdre, cabernet sau-vignon, pinot noir) and 2 whites (roussanne, viognier), a delightfully balanced aromatic bouquet resulting from the combination of Mediter-ranean vines with some of their more distant cousins.

I set up my wine merchant activity, specialising in Languedoc wines in 1993. The fi rst vines were bought at Mas Gabinèle in 1998 (in occitan, unà

gabinelà is a little hut in the vineyard). The estate now covers 18 hectares and the soil is made of sandstone schist. It's very poor and therefore provides low yield : production varies on average between 25 and 30 lectolitres per hectare depending on the year's climatic conditions. The vineyard is run with maximum respect of natural balance and on the basis of envi-

ronmentally friendly treatment. harvesting is carried out with selection on the vine of the ripest grapes. Vi-nifi cation is carried out as gently as possible to avoid over-extraction, aimed at producing “likeable” wines : agreeable, fruity with supple, well rounded tannins but which also offer excellent ageing potential. Our philosophy is based on producing little but good. Quality is an obsession which obliges us to perma-nently improve our work, from the vineyard to the winery.

Faugères, a magic 2 000 ha, small appellation in the North of Languedoc. Our wines come from unique landscapes and soils. The vineyards are characterized by Schist soils with steep plots be-

tween hills and stiff slopes. At a height of 300 m and 30 km from the Mediterranean coast, the climate is exceptional, cooler than elsewhere in the Languedoc area. Some typical aromas are linked to a beautiful minerality due to the schistes soils. Spice, liquorice and balsamic aromas are recognizable landmarks of our reds. Hints of exotic fruits here,

intense notes of small red berries there, an astonishingly fresh and crisp fi nish explodes in our rosé wines. Founded in 1959, our Crus Faugères co-op winery is specialised in AOP from Languedoc and accounts for 70 % of the Faugères appellation. Our winery is certifi ed ISO 9001 for the whole production process and today a part of our surface area is dedicated to organic farming. Terroirs d'Occitanie is our exclusive export offi ce.

In 1711, the family settled down in Gaspar-ets, where they nurtured their vineyards for three centuries. In 876, the Fabre Family

procured Château de Luc. In 1950, Andre Fabre wed Jacqueline Baldy, whose family has lived on the vineyard of Grande Courtade since 1763. In 1982, Louis Fabre took over the family vineyard. He lives with his family in Luc sur Orbieu, where he welcomes wine-lovers in the cellar. After completing his engineering studies in agronomy and oenology, Louis Fabre

took over the Fabre family vineyard in 1982. In 1991 our wines were eco-labeled “Organic Wine” as several of our vineyards have nev-er been treated with pesticides. In 1998, his sister Marie joined the team so will do their daughters before the end of this year. Famille Fabre, it's 360 hectares all labelled “Organic Wine”, a familial spirit overall with a team of 28 closed and precious collaborators, a pres-ence in more than 15 countries and millions of happy consumers!

Born in the 18th century, our Domain is situated in the village of Soumard, at the heart of the vineyard of Pouilly-Fumé. David and Hervé Millet cultivate 20 hectares of Sauvignon

on the municipalities of saint Andelain and Garchy. Our vineyards are situated on diverse chaps of soils, some Flint, the Marne and Clayey Sands. The exposure is the South, Southwest. Vineyards (Vines) are worked in the respect for techniques and for ancestral

traditions. Partisans of the quality, we strive to implement it and to express it in the elaboration of our wines, the work of the vine-yard in the bottle. A traditional wine making allied to the modern techniques allows to maintain all the original qualities of our wines and to bring you one produced subtle, to consume in any oppor-tunities. Our will is that the consumer by tasting our wines, can feel a pleasure of a dimension equal to the passion which drives us.

Our family of winegrowers has been cultivating vines for generations. Our Domain is located in the heart of Coteaux du Layon and more precisely in Thouarcé in the appellation Bonnezeaux. Its surface is 31 hectares. The vineyard benefi ts from an oceanic climate with our legendary Anjou mild weather

("Douceur Angevine") with limited rain, favorable to cultivate the vine. We cultivate the vineyard with care in sustainable farmint and practice grassing between the rows. The winemaking combines modernity and tradition. We produce a wide range of wines including Rosé, Red and White wines.

Prieuré la Chaume is in fact the southermost vineyard of the Loire Valley, equidistant from Loire and

the Medoc. Created from scratch on a former island it is also a bet that on French territory, despite identifi cation of best terroirs made by INAO since 1935, some unexplored area can still be discov-ered. Completly planted on superfi cially chalky soil, one third of the vineyard is planted on southern slopes, another third on western slopes more exposed to mari-

time weather. In organic culture certifi ed Ecocert, entirely laid down to grass, the vineyard is run on lines that encourage the potential of a formally virgin soil for an average modest yielding from 25 to 30 hl/ha. Our wines have suprising char-acter and are well balanced between an aromatic nose, a strong velvety smooth palate and a spicy fi nish. Our wines are the print of their terroir, their climate and the people who accompany them. They are Wines of Memory.

Lagoy is a large estate close to St Rémy de Provence and part of the Parc Régional des Alpilles. Pur-chased in 1777 by the Meyran family who built

its main architectural feature, the Château de Lagoy, in 1714, the estate has stayed in the same family ever since. The Domaine produces organic red and rosé wines labelled IGP Alpilles. The 18 hectare vineyard was planted in 1976 on the « Petite Crau » plateau above the Château de Lagoy. It has produced only organic wines since 2001. The grape varieties are

the following : Grenache (34 %), Cinsault (21 %), Syrah (14 %), Cabernet Sauvignon (9 %), the re-maining 11 % being split equally between Caladoc and Marselan. A new team is managing the Domaine since January 2013; the range of our wines was ex-panded, and newly designed cases and bottles were introduced. Also we have exported red and sparkling rosé wines to the US (1000 bottles+ each to Garag-iste) and won a silver medal for our 2013 rosé at the Concours Général Agricole 2014 in Paris.

Les Domaines Auriol is a family-run winery established in 1995, based in the very heart of the Languedoc-Roussillon re-

gion. Remaining truthful to the family legacy, Ms Claude Vialade built around the 3 fami-ly estates a modern winery dedicated to her passion for winemaking and terroir, with the sole ambition of sharing Southern France's wine culture and the winemaker's excellence on which it all depends. Nowadays, with

500,000 cases produced per year, mostly sold on the export markets, Les Domaines Au-riol has become one of the major players in the region, taking an active part in the new direc-tions that the Languedoc-Roussillon is taking both on the domestic and the international markets. Relying on its representative offi ce in New York City and growing sales throughout the country, Les Domaines Auriol is actively seeking to expand its distribution.

Originally from the Nordic countries, the very fi rst generation of Seguinot sets foot in the Vendée de-partment of France at the beginning of the 13th

century. Sincere and generous, the family is driven by a spirit of solidarity and goes from strength to strength. Whether labourer or farmer, the Seguinots develop a cultural heritage over several centuries and a deep attachment to the land. Today, after more than 120 years of heritage and following four generations, Gérard Seguinot is the guarantor of the

continuity and development of sincere family values, a unique expertise and an exceptional wine heritage. What distinguish-es Seguinot At the heart of the most prestigious vintage wines of the Cognac region, Seguinot now has one of the most remarkable wine heritages. The "Grande Champagne" gives Seguinot cognacs an incredible fi nesse as well as excellent age-ing qualities. The limestone soil, a result of thousands of years of natural evolution is today enhanced by the intuition and dexterity of the Seguinot family.

0ur family history is one of measured, methodical achievement. A family of 5 generations of grow-ers and distillers settled in heart of the cognac

region since 1859 and specialized on Cognac. We are today, as an independent family fi rm, with twenty two 2,500 litre Charente stills, one of the largest distilleries of cognac. Jean-Jacques Trijol (Maxime's son) now runs the fi rm with the same passion and the same professionalism as his forbears to ensure the sustainability of their expertise and the crafting of

exceptional products. The Trijol family operates its own vineyards. We are genuine specialists of cognac, deeply attached to its authenticity, to the taste of perfection, to ageing and cherishing our cognacs well beyond the legally required number of years. Our cognacs are sold in more than 53 countries around the world. They all have won lots of awards) during spirits or cognac competitions (especially our Grande Champagne range), proof of our very high quality.

Pierre Ferrand (1930-2013) was the founder of the cognac house which bears his name. He comes from an old family of bouilleur de cru of Cognac settled in

the heart of Grande Champagne 1st Cru ever since 1702. During the 1990s, Pierre was dispossessed of his name as a trademark by two young partners who early understood the tremendous commercial potential concealed its products. After this misfortune Pierre, his children and grandchil-

dren have spent more than 25 years to rebuild the family business, which now sells its exceptional Cognacs under the brand Pierre de Segonzac. The portrait of Pierre, disap-peared in 2013, is our new logo. Pablo, his grandson, now takes care of the family estate vineyards, distilling its wine and ageing its eau-de-vie. And we love to think that Pierre would have been very proud of our fi rst steps in regaining the North American market to his exceptional Cognacs.

Founded in 1818 by Jean Baptiste Chabasse, Cognac Chabasse is situated at Saint-Jean-d'Angély at the heart of

delineate Cognac area. René-Luc Chabasse, 5th generation, working in the growth of his two brands of Cognac, Chabasse and Bow-en, both of them have an international luxury position. Our company has been recognised both for the quality of our producs and for the design of our bottles. The history of the Bowen range started when a man created

a blend of cognac especially for a woman. The man was the great-grandfather of René-Luc Chabasse, owner of cognac estates and brands. In the course of one of his trips to India, he met Elisabeth Bowen, a young En-glish lady whose family owned a farm near Pondicherry. He put all his expertise and sen-sitivity into crafting an aromatic and subtle cognac for her. Today, Magalie Chabasse, Mr Chabasse's daughter, is the Ambassador of the brand. We have 60 hectares of vineyards.

Situated just a few miles from Strasbourg in the north-east of France, Meteor brewery has been using all its know-how since 1640 in the service of quality and taste. Today, it brews a wide

range of products with unique personalities that offer an opportunity to rediscover the pleasures of beer.  A family brewery for 7 gener-

ations, it has maintained its ideals for beer by creating a variety of recipes and being highly demanding in its selection of quality raw ingre-dients.   Michel Haag now runs France's leading independent brewery and has always refused to sell. He has thus preserved this precious heritage: an independent company and products with personality.

The Domaine de Vénus was created in 2002 by two friends who are wine lovers. They found a magical place: Les Fe-nouillèdes, the highest north valley of Roussillon AOC,

where they founded an exceptional Wine Estate… original and highly eclectic. 14 good friends joined them in 2003, all of them being passionate wine lovers and wishing to make the wines of their dreams, ready to drink it if not to sell it. The Domaine de Vénus is parcelled out right across the full range

of sites that Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet has to offer: Over 40 in-dividual plots, all between 300 and 500 meters' altitude. In six years, Domaine de Vénus reached a size of over 15 hectares of vines, some of them being more than 80 years old. The soil is mainly black schist typical of the higher end of the Agly valley. Amazing combinations of altitude, wind and natural drainage lend themselves to a paradox: a true Southern vineyard that can yet deliver freshness and delicacy of fl avour.
