Story

Game OverviewPhilosophy

My game is trying to get people to interact more with games and make their own maps and players.

What Platform (i.e iOS Android,PC etc)#2

My game will run on PC. This is so that it can run on higher settings than consoles and have community server and maps.

Common Questions

What is the game?

I am thinking of doing a game that is a first person parkour game. It will have a single player and multiplayer game mode. In single player you have to explore a world and dodge obstacles to get to new zones and you can unlock items for multiplayer in single player. In multiplayer there will be a group of players that spawn and have to get to the end of the course, the first person there will get a reward.

Why create this game?

The objective of my game is for people to have fun, the game will be easy to start off as the player only needs to know how to jump and move, this would be good for the casual players but to keep the hard-core players entertained they can train and master the controls to move fast, navigate around corners and leap over huge gaps by timing there jumps.

Where does the game take place?

My game does not have a specific place that it takes place as players can make their own levels in any setting.

What do I control?

The player will control a character that you will be able to customize. You will be in control of this character and have to get to the end of the levels.

The main focus of the game is to try and reach the end of a level by landing jumps and dogging obstacles.

The main selling point for my game is the ability to create your own levels and share them with your friends and the world.

The Game WorldOverview

Players will be able to create there own game worlds by making levels for other people to play

World Feature #1

Players will be able to add obstacles into their level that the people who play it will have to dodge.

People will have to make gaps for people to jump over.

The Physical World

Overview

The world will be created by the community. They will make their own levels and challenges.

Anything the map creator wants.

Travel

The player travels across the world by jumping over gaps and dogging obstacles.

Scale

Anything the map creator wants.

Objects

The map creator will be able to make objects that the player can dodge and jump over.

Weather

My game will have weather like snow, rain and sun that the map creator can add.

Day and Night

My game will have a day and night cycle.

Time

You will have to beat a level in a certain time.

The World LayoutOverview

The map creator will be able to create 2 sections of the world, one where the player can interact with the environment and one that the player will be able to just see and not interact with.

World Layout Detail #The building rooftops will be able to be interacted with but you will not be able to go to the buildings in the background.

Game CharactersOverview

My characters are humans that the player can customize fully. Eyes, Hair, Legs, Arms, Skin color etc.

Creating a Character

There will be lots of presets but you can make your own character by using sliders and moving things around to make your character.

Enemies or obstacles

You will have to dodge obstacles in order to complete the level.

User InterfaceOverview

The UI will be very minimalistic so that the player can concentrate on the game and not a flashy HUD.

User Interface Detail #1

The HUD will have a health bar in the bottom left that will tell the player how much health they have out of 100% so they can see how much fall damage they can take.

Musical Scores and Sound EffectsOverview

I want the sound effects to make the player feel like they are actually running, instead of floating which would be silent with no sounds.

Sound Effects

I am going to have sound effects for Jumping, Landing, Moving etc. I will record them from real life sounds and edit them in a program.

Music

The music will be electro music but the map creators can choose to turn it off or replace it.

Overall Sound Design

The electro music will be playing constantly and the sound effects of running and jumping will be playing over the top.

Single-Player GameOverview

Single Player will be a tutorial level to show people the basics of the game so that they can play multiplayer.

Hours of Gameplay

Single Player will not have a very long play time. It might have 1 or 2 tutorial levels as the main part of my game is multiplayer

Victory Conditions

The player wins levels by getting to the end of the level.
