And when it does it changes the gravity of it all just a little bit.Like a strike of lighting. A toss of good luck. A game changer. A life changer. Freedoms Trio came about like that. Steinar Aadnekvam - the expat Norwegian acoustic guitar phenomenon - had just returned to Scandinavia after quite a few years in north eastern Brazil and had begun working with Deodato Siquir - the Mozambican super drummer and vocalist - at the clubs in Stockholm when Rubem Farias - the prodigy Brasilian bass virtuoso - visits from Sao Paulo and after some persistently combined indication from a friend of a friend and another friend, the trio eventually got together to play in 2014. The magic was instantaneous. Decision was made to follow up this collaboration. Rubem, who was in the process of moving to the North anyway, began coming back and forth from Brasil and during the following year the trio was able to shape their sound, make a demo, and even tour quite extensively in Scandinavia and in the Baltics before going to Spain with Losen Records and make this album in November 2015. Golden days. This album captures three distinct individuals. Three musicians in their prime. Three heroes who will live and die for the Art that they believe in. And three friends who are just playing music to have fun. Guitarist Steinar Aadnekvam has in the last decade made a name for himself internationally as an unusually talented player. He is deeply rooted in both jazz and world music and is one of few young guitarists who plays modern jazz on the acoustic nylon strings guitar. At home in Norway he made his breakthrough in 2010 after a concert at the Molde Jazzfestival and the debutalbum ‘Simple Things’ that led to festival concerts throughout northern Europe. But - it is for his close collaborations with the north eastern Brazilian music scene that Aadnekvam has made himself most noted after severalalbums and major touring projects both in the Nordics and in Brazil in collaboration with Brazilian colleagues. This is Steinar Aadnekvam´s second release for Losen Records. «Freedoms Tree» (LOS 137-2) was released a year ago. www.steinarguitar.com Drummer and singer Deodato Siquir is third generation musician from Maputo - Mozambique. Living in Sweden since 2001 he represents some of the best in Afro-Jazz in the Nordics. He has collaborated with musicians like Etienne Mbappé, Linley Marthe and even Joe Zawinul. Deodato Siquir is a showman to his fingertips and on stage audience will meet him at the deep end of his soul creating a concert where you don’t want to miss a beat. Bassist Rubem Farias was born in 1986 in the favela in Salvador in the Brazilian state of Bahia but it was soon evident that the young boy possessed an unusual musical talent. Only 13 years old he was admitted as a student at the music conservatory of Sao Paulo where he would study with some of the best musicians in the country and today Rubem Farias is one of the most sought-after young instrumentalists in Brazil. Every now and then a trinity will come into place.

Three heroes who will live and die for the Art that they believe in.And three friends who are just playing music to have fun.
