Liberties Union—Indiana will follow with a presentation on
what we can do to stand up for our rights today.
What are Freedom Riders?
The Freedom Riders were people who rode buses from state
to state in protest of Jim Crow laws in violation of Supreme
Court rulings desegregating buses, waiting rooms, and
restaurants for interstate travel. Many Freedom Riders were
college students and faced consequences from their
institutions.
