It was never very likely that President Obama would come out and praise George W. Bush for the latter’s handling of the Iraq war, and in

OPEN YOUR EYES! U.S. TILT AGAINST ISRAEL INCREASES

With each announcement of a new appointee to the Obama Middle

Samantha Powers and James Jones, both with long records of antagonism towards Israel, were followed by lesser-known names of the same persuasion. Fred Hof will deal with Syria and Susan Rice represents American interests at the United Nations. OBAMA’S BUSH VINDICATION THE PRESIDENT’S GOOD TURN ON IRAQ

By N. Richard Greenfield

James 1: 23-25“For if any man be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass. For he beholds himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man is blessed in his deed.”

Many times in praying for individuals who are being

afflicted with some aliment or sickness, I’ll bring a mirror. Not a physical glass mirror, but the mirror of the Word of God. The reason I bring this mirror, is that a lot of times the individual that is trying to receive their healing has become so preoccupied with the sickness or pain that is plaguing them, that they have forgotten and or have become blinded to who and what they are.

As I minister to them, I’ll attempt to do what James instructed us to do, and bring the Perfect Law of Liberty before their eyes. I’ll attempt to help them see who they really are; HEALED!

If I am able to get people preoccupied with what the Word of God has said about them, and unoccupied with their symptoms, God is able to help them receive, experience, and walk in their healing!

The Word “looketh,” here in James 1:25, means, “To bend over and peer into to get a better look.” When you begin to peer into the Word of God, you’ll begin to see yourself as a person who has been healed, and made FREE!

You’ll begin to see an image of health instead of sickness and pain. For example:

Isaiah 53:3-5 & 1 Peter 2:24 tell us that God has already healed us.

Colossians 1:13 says that God has already delivered us from the power of darkness.

2 Peter 1:3 proclaims that God has given us ALL THINGS that pertain to life, and godliness.

And in Luke 10:19 Jesus Himself declares that He has given us authority over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt us.

Glory to God! Are you beginning to see your reflection in the Word of total and complete healing?

James 1:22-25 is telling us to look into this mirror. When we are preoccupied, and influenced by what we see in the Word of God, we will begin receiving what God has promised us, HEALING!

Are you occupied with the feelings of sickness today, or are you being consumed with 1 Peter 2:24 ,which declares; “BY HIS STRIPES YE WERE HEALED.” ?

James instructs us to not only look but to keep on looking

into this mirror, “…this man (then) is blessed in his deed.”

You see, being occupied and influenced by the symptoms of sickness is actually reversing the condition, which God requires in receiving our healing.

By being occupied by what we feel, we are actually establishing and reinforcing the condition the devil has us in. We become bound, limited, and restrained.

Romans 6:18 declares to us that we ARE FREE! Galatians 3:13 reveals to us that we are redeemed from the curse of the law, meaning we have been freed from the curse of sickness. We do not have to stay bound by the symptoms of sickness and disease any longer, if we continue looking into the mirror of the Word of God.

We could take a life lesson from Abraham our Father in the faith, and imitate him. He refused to consider his own body which was telling him that he could not produce a child. Instead he waxed strong in faith by LOOKING unto the promises of God. ( Romans 4:18-21.)

We also can follow after Sarah. We read in Hebrews 11:11, Where Sarah “received physical power… because she considered [God], Who had given

her the promise, to be reliable and trustworthy and true to His Word.” (Amp)

The word “Looketh” here also means “to consider”.

You see, instead of considering her limitations, which were her age, her body, etc., she looked, or considered the promise of Gods Word and received the faith she needed to receive that promise in her life.

In Numbers 21:8 we read an account where thousands of Israelites were dying. So Moses, under the direction of God, put a brass serpent on a pole and raised it up before the people. In verse 8 we read: “And it shall come to pass that everyone that is bitten, when he LOOKETH upon it shall live.”

Notice the condition for their healing was, “everyone who LOOKETH shall live.”

No one would receive their healing, except on the condition that they LOOK and continue LOOKING at the brass serpent, which was a prophetic type of Christ.

The Word Looketh here in Numbers 21:8 literally infers “a continual stare” The Israelites were not to just glance at the brass serpent, they were to continually stare at it, giving it their full attention, until they were healed.

The same is true today. The healing process is completed as we, not only begin to look into the Perfect Law of Liberty, but to stay looking at the promises of God. We are to give the Word of God our full attention until we are that Word in our lives!

Begin looking at the right mirror. Change your focus from the deception of sickness, to the reality of healing. Walk in the freedom of health, by looking into the Perfect Law of Liberty today!

KIM CLEMEMT:

The Spirit of God says; "Some of you have said we

have waited for too long. And

some of you have said, this cannot be possible, that in a time of great ingratitude, in a

time of where there is very little praise on the lips of the citizens. But God said, this is how I work. Where there is a rock I will bring water forth. Where there is an

impossible situation I will thrive. Do you want a testimony? God says, do you want a testimony? Then prepare yourself because I am preparing a testimony to born in its time and now is the

time. Now is the time!

For the Spirit of God said, is it not becoming for me to receive adoration and praise from the lips of those that have beheld my glory and my power. This

is a strange thing that unbelief would settle into the nests of the eagles so easily, but God

said, I am shaking the nests, so that the little eaglets can come forth. Yes I am. For the Spirit

of God said even in this nation where people have looked

upon you and despised you, I have brought vindication. I have

brought righteousness. Now the promise that I have given to you, you don’t have to wait for it anymore. Your tomorrow

has arrived and become your present. Do not reject it, embrace it, rejoice in it, for a

testimony is about to be born in time, says the Lord.

The Spirit of God says, a testimony is about to be born in its time. What is this that I am saying? You are a testimony

about to be born in its time. You are a testimony about to be

born in its time. Now is the time. Something unusual, it’s never ever happened before - in the

month of October!

In the month of October, there will be the most unusual favor.

The cherry on the cake is October and what could not

happen has to happen. The door that was locked to you must be unlocked. The retardation that

has taken place on your divine promise

will suddenly accelerate. This

has been promised to us. In the month

of the October, because of the

favor, and because of the revelations

and because of the things that are going

to unfold, even in the United States of America, causing your Thanksgiving to be one of the most thankful

Thanksgivings.

Because of the disruption of political powers, the disruption of a force that has held strong in Iran, in Iran, and God says, I

will spite the devil. I will spite the devil and instead of blowing up and destroying as many wish, Iran - I will raise up hundreds

of thousands of Christians amongst the young people in the schools, in the colleges, in the mosques. Young men and women - I will raise from

within. For God says, why would I do it any other way? Wrong came down because of what

happened from within. And God says, do not fear Iran, do not fear what they are trying to do for China, oddly enough, will stand a firm ground. And God

said America shall say “we never dreamed that China would stand for a season in this crisis.”

For God said there is a crisis about to happen but quickly and swiftly shall it be placed under your feet. And God says and

do not despise the Bush, your President, too soon for there

shall be a massive vindication. And because of a certain thing that shall arise and a diplomacy that shall take place, there shall be a peace that America never dreamed would happen. Look to who were your enemies and they shall stand as your friends for a season, says the Spirit of

God. Something unusual!"

Something unusual, it’s never ever happened before.

and that “there is renewed cause for hope in Iraq.” That’s a far cry from his message of last July, when he told reporters, after visiting Iraq, that “So far, I think we have not seen the kind of political reconciliation that’s going to bring about long-term stability in Iraq.”

But more important than Mr. Obama’s implicit repudiation of his own positions as a candidate (and the implicit vindication of Mr. Bush’s position, to say nothing of John McCain’s) is his decision to maintain a sizable U.S. military presence in Iraq -- in the range of 35,000 to 50,000 troops -- past the August 2010 “w i thdrawal ” date. That “ t rans i t i ona l force” is roughly the size of the U.S. military presence in South Korea through the Cold War. And its mission, involving training of Iraqi forces, U.S. force protection and “targeted counterterrorism missions,” largely describes what the U.S. is already doing in Iraq.

Most of Iraq’s provinces are under full Iraqi security control, and U.S. forces will be out of all Iraqi cities and towns by this July, as stipulated in the Status of Forces Agreement that the Bush Administration concluded with the Iraqi government last year. By making it clear a sizable U.S. force will remain in Iraq, Mr. Obama is showing a commitment to Iraq’s continued democratic progress and should help deter a revival of ethnic tensions. He’s also making clear the strategic advantage of having a stable U.S. ally

in the heart of the Persian Gulf.

Mr. Obama also deserves praise for noting that “not all of Iraq’s neighbors are contributing to its security [and that] some are working at times to undermine it.” That’s another belated recognition of facts that Mr. Obama’s allies on the left weren’t always ready to acknowledge, particularly in the matter of Iran. Too bad, then, that Mr. Obama’s only answer so far to this bad-neighborliness is “principled and sustained engagement” with Iraq’s

n e i g h b o r s , including Iran and Syria. It’s also too bad to hear Mr. Obama confirm reports that Chris Hill will be his Ambassador in Baghdad. Unlike Mr. C r o c k e r ,

Mr. Hill has no history of walking away from the table when he sees negotiations going nowhere.

Still, Mr. Obama delivered a sober speech, offering a policy worthy of the Commander in Chief he now is. He summed up America’s achievement in Iraq thus:

“We sent our troops to Iraq to do away with Saddam Hussein’s regime -- and you got the job done. We kept our troops in Iraq to help establish a sovereign government -- and you got the job done. And we will leave the Iraqi people with a hard-earned opportunity to live a better life -- that is your achievement; that is the prospect that you have made possible.Amen.

PASTOR'S CORNER

“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;” (2 Corinthians 4:13)

What we believe and speak reflects what kind of attitude we have.

What kind of attitude do you have? Do you have an attitude of expectation, and faith, or an attitude of fear, and insecurity?

The phrase “the spirit of faith” that the Word of God is referring to here, is not the Holy Spirit. The phrase “the spirit of faith” is referring to a belief system, an attitude or a frame of mind!

The attitude of faith, is, “I believe, therefore I speak!”

We also could say that the attitude of fear, is “I believe therefore I speak.“

We can tell what you believe, or what you fear, by the words you speak!

The words you speak are very important! The Word of God tells us, in Proverbs 18:20-21 “A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

The words we speak determine our future! The words we speak determine if we experience life or death. Death and life are in the power of the tongue.

The word power here in Proverbs 18:21 in the Hebrew tongue means; strength, authority, or ability. The words we speak can actually have the authority or ability to cause us to experience death or life!

So our words are like containers. What ever they are filled with, is what they will produce!

Our words are either going to be filled with the life giving power of Gods Word, or they will be filled with the deadly poison of fear, and insecurity.

Look at what Jesus said in Matthew 12:34-37: “O generation of vipers, how can ye being evil speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth-good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth-evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the Day of Judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”

You see you cannot just speak something that has no power in it, because each word you speak contains the authority, or ability, to produce that what you have spoken.

Jesus said, that out of the abundance of our heart, we speak! If what we believe in our heart is evil, or is rooted in rejection, insecurity, and death, and we are speaking that, then that will be what we experience in life! Jesus said the words that are filled with evil are what condemn us!

On the other hand, If what we have in our heart is filled with the Word of God,, life, and love, and we are speaking that, then that will be our experience! He said faith filled words will justify us.

It is what we believe in our heart, that determines what words we speak!

So the question is, are you forming your beliefs on what appeares to be in this natural world, or are you forming your beliefs on the eternal Word of God?

To many of us have been forming our beliefs on what we have experienced in life. We've made choices and decisions based on our own natural reasoning.

We view life’s events through this filter, instead of perceiving life through the filter of Gods Word!

Hebrews 4:12 tells us; “For the Word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

You see it is the Word of God, that is to be “the discerner” of the thoughts and intents of your heart, not your past experiences. We need to be forming our beliefs, our faith, on and through the filter of the eternal Word of God!

Hebrews 3:1 tells us to consider Jesus, who is the Word made flesh, (John 1:14) not our life’s experiences! John 1:1-3 tells us that Word of God is full of the LIFE OF GOD, and this life is the light of men. In order to experience life, we need to go to the source of life, and believe Him

Why is it so important to consider Jesus? Because what you believe determines what you speak, and what you speak determines what you'll experience in life!

RETAIL SALES RISE UNEXPECTEDLY IN JANUARY

U.S. retail sales jumped 1 percent in January, reversing a six-month declining trend and defying econo-

mists’ expectations by posting the biggest increase in 14 months.

But higher gasoline prices and sales, and buyers snapping up other items on post-holiday discounts appeared to aid last month’s results. Analysts cautioned that the relief is unlikely to last.

The Commerce Department reported Thursday that January retail sales rose 1 percent from December after having fallen for six straight months. Wall Street econo-mists surveyed by Thomson Reuters had expected January sales to show a drop of 0.8 percent. They plunged a revised lower 3 percent in December, which marked the weakest holiday selling season since at least 1969.

“This is a big surprise, though the net rise in sales is less impressive than it looks because (December and November) were revised down by 0.3 percent each,” Ian Shepherdson, chief U.S. economist at High Frequency Economics, wrote in a research note. “The headline relief today is welcome but it is unlikely to last.”

The January report shows strong increases in sales of automobiles and in general merchandise stores - the “big box” out-lets - though sales by department stores, carrying fewer varieties of items, posted a decline. Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world’s largest retailer, is an example of a dis-counter that has benefited from strapped consumers’ focus on necessities like gro-ceries and on bargains for other items.

Sales at gas stations jumped 2.6 percent

in January - the biggest increase since June, while sales of autos and parts rose 1.6 percent.

Total retail sales excluding autos and parts still rose 0.9 percent, which again easily beat estimates by economists who expected a decline of 0.5 percent.

Nonstore retailers, such as Internet and mail-order shopping, advanced 2.7 per-cent in January, while sales of food and beverages rose 2.1 percent. Health and personal care stores registered flat sales last month.

Despite the leap last month, retail sales were down 9.7 percent from January 2008, amid the ravages of the recession, thousands of job losses and falling home prices.

Many of the nation’s retailers last week reported sales declines for January. The Labor Department said retailers slashed about 45,000 jobs last month as they closed stores and tried to preserve cash while consumers curtailed spending.

Wal-Mart said Tuesday it will cut 700 to 800 jobs at its Arkansas headquarters as it builds fewer new stores this year and makes other operational changes. The cuts are coming in Wal-Mart’s real estate, apparel, and health and wellness departments.

Macy’s Inc. last week said it will elimi-nate 7,000 jobs, or almost 4 percent of its work force, while Bon-Ton Stores Inc. and apparel maker Liz Claiborne Inc. also disclosed major job cuts.

POPE CHALLENGES PELOSI ON ABORTION STANCE

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently had a 15-minute meeting with Pope Benedict XVI.

The meeting was held Wednesday in a small room in the Vatican after Benedict’s weekly public audience. Judie Brown of American Life League tells OneNews-Now the meeting was private, but the Vatican did release a statement, not-ing the pope chal-lenged Pelosi’s stance on abortion issues.

“But I am very grateful that the Holy Father called her up, if you will, on her horrible position in favor of supporting the abortion of preborn babies,” Brown notes.

She is also thankful that the Vatican issued the statement, going public with a politician’s responsibilities to the Word. The Associated Press reports Benedict

urged politicians to value life “at all stages of its development” and to protect the dignity of human life “from conception to natural death.”

“Pelosi is an insult to the Roman CatholicChurch,” Brown contends, “and I’m glad that the Vatican recognizes this.”

Brown adds that the pope could have simply shaken Pelosi’s hand and had a cordial meet-ing, but he embraced the opportunity instead to promote life. “He took the opportunity to point out the grave error of her ways -- and I think that does send a mes-sage to pro-abortion politicians everywhere all over the world,” she concludes. That mes-sage? “If they happen to be Catholic, they cannot support killing.”

AP notes that several Catholic bishops in the U.S. have questioned the House Speaker’s pro-abortion stance and staunch defense of women’s “right to choose.”

Did he? No, he didn’t. He forgave them. He loved them. And he blessed them. This is character-acting in a Godly way.

Now let us go back to my notes again. “Character is to your life what a foundation is to a house.”

Remember what foundation is-a solid base, what a house is built on so that it doesn’t fall. This is what character is too. How you think and act-your behav ior - is your solid base so that you don’t fall.

Are you behaving everyday in a way that will make you strong, so that you don’t fall? “What kind of behavior?” you may ask. Well, let’s see. What is your reaction when three days in a row, your sister takes your favorite chair at the dinner table?

Do you complain and get angry, or do you walk in love and be giving? What do you do when you’re at school and you hear a friend talking mean about another friend? Do you say mean things too? Or do you speak up and say something good about that person?

Stories like this and how you act and behave in them makes up your character. It’d be like if you were making a batch of chocolate chip cookies. Do you think the cookies would taste good if you put rice, vinegar, and pepper in them? Ugh! I don’t think so.

You need the right ingredients: flour, sugar, butter, and chocolate chips. Just as you need the right ingredients for a good cookie, so you need the right ingredients for a good character. Ingredients for a good character might be this: telling the truth, walking in love, forgiving others when you don’t feel like it, having self control....

Oh, and I can’t promise you that having a strong and Godly character will be easy. You won’t always “feel” like doing the right thing, but that doesn’t mean that you still can’t make the right choice. You can. I am so glad that God is always with us and inside of us to help us make the right choices.

Don’t forget to pray everyday and ask God to help you make Godly choices. Remember that God is on your side. You have your very own cheerleading team in the form of God the Father, His Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

“All who listen to my instructions and follow them are wise, like a man who builds his house on solid rock.” (Matthew 7:24)

Do you bring your Bible to church every Sunday? I do. Besides bringing my Bible to church, I

also bring a small notebook. In it, I take notes from my pastor’s teaching so that I remember it and study it later.

Today I was looking over some notes that were from 3 years ago. The notes may have been old, but they were still did wonders for my heart!

I’d like to share some powerful words with you from my church notes. The words are this: CHARACTER is to your life what a foundation is to a house. Character and foundation are probably some big words for you to understand, so let’s see if we can find out what they mean.

Foundation. I asked my children what they thought foundation meant. Katie said that it was the base, or the bottom of something. Emily said that a foundation is what you build on. They were both correct.

Think about a house. Did you know that you couldn’t start building a house without a foundation? In fact, the foundation is the first thing that you build on a house. It’s the solid bottom of the house and it’s what holds a house up so that it doesn’t fall.

A foundation may not look very pretty, but it is very, very important. One can’t have a kitchen, bathroom, or bedroom without first having a foundation.

Now lets look at the word “character.” Have you ever heard of that word before? Character is how a person behaves, or acts. It’s everything about a person-their habits, attitudes, and the way that they would do things. Basically, character is you.

Everyone has his or her own special character-good or bad. What kind of character do you have? What are your habits and attitudes? Are they habits and attitudes that would bring a smile to Jesus-or perhaps a frown? (Let’s hope for a smile!)

Do you remember the story of Joseph in the Bible? He was the man that was sold (they really wanted to kill him) by his jealous brothers. I think that Joseph was a man of character. He had a lot of bad and challenging things happen to him. He didn’t give up. He didn’t turn His back on God.

He even had the change to ‘get even’ with his brothers. He could have had them killed.

Wa l l B u i l d e r s THE SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE

Jefferson had committed himself as President to

pursuing the purpose of the First Amendment: preventing the “establishment of a particular form of Christianity” by the Episcopalians, Congregationalists, or any other denomination.

Since this was Jefferson’s view concerning religious expression, in his short and polite reply to the Danbury Baptists on January 1, 1802, he assured them that they need not fear; that the free exercise of religion would never be interfered with by the federal government. As he explained:

Gentlemen, – The affectionate sentiments of esteem and

approbation which you are so good as to express towards me on behalf of the Danbury Baptist Association give me the highest satisfaction. . . . Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God; that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship; that the legislative powers of government reach actions only and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should “make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,” thus building a wall of separation between Church and State. Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties. I reciprocate

your kind prayers for the protection and blessing of the common Father and Creator of man, and tender you for yourselves and your religious association assurances of my high respect and esteem.

Jefferson’s reference to “natural rights” invoked an important legal phrase which was part of the rhetoric of that day and which reaffirmed his belief that religious liberties were inalienable rights. While the phrase “natural rights” communicated much to people then, to most citizens today those words mean

little.

By definition, “natural rights” included “that which the Books of the Law and the Gospel do contain.” That is, “natural rights” incorporated what God Himself had guaranteed to man in the Scriptures. Thus, when Jefferson assured the Baptists that by following

Author and historian David Barton is the Founder and President of WallBuilders, a national pro-family organization which dis-tributes historical, legal, and statistical information; and helps citizens become active in their local schools and communities. WallBuilders is a name taken from the Bible book of Nehemiah. And just as Nehemiah led a grassroots movement in Jerusalem to rebuild the walls of that city and restore its strength and honor; so, too, WallBuilders seeks to energize the grassroots today to rebuild that which makes America strong—its constitutional, moral, and religious foundations.

THE SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE their “natural rights” they would violate no social duty, he was affirming to them that the free exercise of religion was their inalienable God-given right and therefore was protected from federal regulation or interference.

So clearly did Jefferson understand the Source

of America’s inalienable rights that he even doubted whether America could survive if we ever lost that knowledge. He queried:

And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure if we have lost the only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath?

Jefferson believed that God, not government, was the Author and Source of our

rights and that the government, therefore, was to be prevented from interference with those rights. Very simply, the “fence” of the Webster letter and the “wall” of the Danbury letter were not to limit religious activities in public; rather they were to limit the

power of the government to prohibit or interfere with those expressions.

Earlier courts long understood Jefferson’s intent. In fact, when Jefferson’s letter was invoked by the Supreme Court (only twice prior to the 1947 Everson case – the Reynolds v. United States case in 1878), unlike today’s Courts which publish only his eight-word separation phrase, that earlier Court published Jefferson’s entire letter and then concluded:

Coming as this does from an acknowledged leader of the advocates of the measure, it [Jefferson’s letter] may be accepted almost as an authoritative declaration of the scope and effect of the Amendment thus secured. Congress was deprived of all legislative power over mere [religious] opinion, but was left free to reach actions which

were in violation of social duties or subversive of good order. (emphasis added)

That Court then succinctly summarized Jefferson’s intent for “separation of church and state”:

[T]he rightful purposes of civil government are for its officers to interfere when principles break out into overt acts against peace and good order. In th[is] . . . is found the true distinction between what properly belongs to the church and what to the State.

With this even the Baptists had agreed; for while wanting to see the government prohibited from interfering with or limiting religious activities, they also had declared it a legitimate function of government “to punish the man who works ill to his neighbor.”

That Court, therefore, and others (for example, Commonwealth v. Nesbit and Lindenmuller v. The People), identified actions into which – if perpetrated in the name of religion – the government did have legitimate reason to intrude. Those activities included human sacrifice, polygamy, bigamy, concubinage, incest, infanticide, parricide, advocation

“For God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who is good in His sight; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and collecting, that he may give to him who is good before God. ' (Ecc. 2:26)

There are many times that marriage and money bring out the worst in us. Marriage, by itself, is one of the biggest challenges in life. If you have money issues to boot, then you may be in for a good ole throw down.

It has been said by some of our greatest experts that money is the number one issue that married people fight over. Now you may say that you and your spouse don’t fight. Well, okay, then you discuss it so loud that the neighborhood can hear. Why do we fight? Money or the lack of it.

Many people think that the solution to their problem would be answered if they just had more money. But the fact is, just because you get more money does not mean that you will have solved the problem.

There are four main reasons why people do not have any money left over at the end of the month:Lack of knowledge of God’s Word (Hosea 4:6)

Lack of operating in the principle of sowing and reaping (2 Corinthians 9:6-8)

Lack of wisdom on how to manage their money (James 1:5, Proverbs 4:7-8)

Wrong motives (Matthew 6:33)Now I know this is not all of the reasons why we don’t have any money at the end of the month. It could be that we wait until the end of the month to try to save, instead of paying yourself first. Now when I say pay yourself first, I mean right after God. I believe that you must keep God first in your tithe and offerings, then pay yourself.

As you look at the four reasons listed above, you will see that an entire message could be written on each one of them. But for right now, we are talking about marriage and money, and why we fight over the green.

Page 10 FREEDOM

MARRIAGE AND MONEYby Brian Bohrer

I would say that number three is the most important keys that must be understood by each partner in order to have success. I would like to give you some suggestions, as a couple, to think about so you can add more love to your money matters.

How To Have Peace and ProsperityBegin to communicate – Nothing will ever get fixed in your marriage without talking. Take time to talk, but don’t do it right before you go to bed because you may be up all night. It has been proven that if you discuss complicated issues before going to bed, you will not be able to sleep. So one of the best times to talk is at lunch or in the evening. Go out to a park, take a walk, and discuss how you can cut back and fix the problem.

Be humble – Don’t approach your mate as though you know it all, because you don’t. Be open to new ideas, and be open to read or seek out counsel from another couple that seems to be on the right track.

Establish equal goals – When getting out of debt or setting a goal such as buying a home, we both must be willing to share the load. If one thinks or believes that they are pulling most of the weight it will cause sparks to fly.

Hollywood doesn’t have it all together – A lot of times we compare our lives to those that we see on TV. First of all, most of them are in debt, banking on getting a new contract. Then, their lives are not the right example because all they seem to do is get together, break up, and then do it all over again. Brad Pitt may have the look, but does he truly have the wisdom that it takes to make his marriage and his career work? I will let you answer that one.

Don’t throw in the towel – A lot of marriages break up today because of one word...stubbornness. Try to see it from your mate’s view, not just your view. Write down their view and think about it for a day or so before you have the meeting of the minds. Most of the time, those that give up on their marriage regret it for the rest of their lives. They may get remarried and everything looks like it is great, but deep down on the inside they live with thoughts like, “Did I really try to make it work?”

Begin today by making a decision to understand your mate’s needs. Don’t just try to get your point across. Be a good listener. I know that, together, you can strengthen your marriage and make money work for you. This article is used by permission from Pastor Brian

Four Fears You Must Conquer Every Day

Fear is the primary tactic of your enemy, the devil. All through the Bible, we are told

to “fear not.” Fear will immobilize you and stop you from reaching your goals and full potential.

You conquer your fears by studying, speaking and acting on the Bible, God’s Word. When you do, you will conquer these four kinds of fear every day:

Fear of failure. This lie tells you God is not strong enough to help you succeed, and it is perhaps the greatest attack of fear.

Fear of the future. This lie compels you to believe God is unable to see what lies ahead for you and to direct you in every step (Ps. 37:23).

Fear of the past. This haunting deception says that because of where you or your family has come from, God is unable to make everything good today (2 Cor. 5:17).

Fear of comparison. This lie tries to talk you into believing God favors someone else more because that person appears to be doing better than you are. The enemy wants you to believe God has given up on you.

Four Reasons You’ll Have More By Giving Away

Of course we know that the Bible tells us to give a tithe (one tenth) of our income to our local church, and offerings after the tithe to worthy causes (Mal. 3:10-11).

There are at least four reasons you’ll have more after you give:The Bible teaches that giving is like planting a seed. Every seed produces a huge multiplication of its kind (2 Cor. 9:10).

God promises to open heaven’s windows and pour out blessings that you cannot possibly contain (Mal. 3:10).

Other people are naturally (and supernaturally) compelled to bless those who are unselfish in their giving (Luke 6:38).

Giving puts your faith in action, and faith is always rewarded abundantly by God (Heb. 11:6).

Four Surefire Ways to Discover Your Talents

Proverbs 18:16 NKJV says, “A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.” The discovery and implementation of your gifts and talents will bring you the success your heart desires.

Here are four ways to uncover your talents:

Ask those you know and trust what they see as your greatest faults.

Pray and ask God to reveal your gifts and talents to you. Jeremiah 33:3 promises that if we call on God, He will show us hidden things which we don’t know about.

Follow your heart’s desires, and try new things. The results may surprise you.

Be faithful in little things you’re asked to do, even if they aren’t on your list of favorites. God tells us that if we are faithful in small things, we will be rulers over much. (Matt. 25:23).

To whom should Homeland Security officials turn when faced

with terrorist threats?

They should turn to God, according to one state’s law.

When Kentucky formed its state Office of Homeland Security in 2006, it listed the department’s initial duty as “stressing the dependence on Almighty God as being vital to the security of the Commonwealth.” According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, Homeland Security must proclaim God’s protection in its reports. The office also features a plaque at its Emergency Operations Center declaring, “The safety and security of the Commonwealth cannot be achieved apart from reliance upon Almighty God.”

State Rep. Tom Riner, D-Louisville, included the stipulation to acknowledge God in an amendment to the legislation. Lawmakers overwhelmingly approved it, according to the report.

The office is now required to put God above all else – including allocation of government grants and threat-risk analysis.

Riner, a Southern Baptist minister, told the Herald-Leader giving God glory for his protection is of utmost importance.

“This is recognition that government alone cannot guarantee the perfect safety of the people of Kentucky,” Riner said. “Government itself,

apart from God, cannot close the security gap. The job is too big for government.”

Under Gov. Ernie Fletcher, Homeland Security mounted the plaque as directed and gave God credit in its annual reports – until last month. Now the office of current Gov. Steve Beshear is saying it did not know about the plaque. Regardless, Homeland

Security Chief Thomas Preston said he has no plans for its removal.

“I will not try to supplant Almighty God,” Preston said. “All I do is try to obey the dictates of the Kentucky General Assembly. I really don’t know what their motivation was

for this. They obviously felt strongly about it.”

While God is not mentioned on Homeland Security’s website or in its mission statement, Riner said he would like to see references to Him.

“We certainly expect it to be there, of course,” he said.

But state Sen. Kathy Stein, D-Lexington disagreed. She said the office should concern itself with terrorist threats rather than evangelizing.

“It’s very sad to me that we do this sort of thing,” she told the Herald-Leader. “It takes away from the seriousness of the public discussion over security, and it clearly hurts the credibility of this office if it’s supposed to be depending on God, first and foremost.”

What Can I Say by Charles Durham

My God, My God, What can I say?

I did not want to live life my way.

Your true love I did not see,

when it was right in front of me.

I turned away when you called my name,

my life was filled with shame.

I closed the door when you wanted in

and lived my life in worldly sin.

Then one day I opended my eyes

and turned my head toward the skies,

when I fell down on my knees to pray

you saved me Lord, on that day.

You set me free from my past

and gave me hope and peace at last.

Thank you Lord, for what you’ve done.

You sent to me, your only son.

My God, My God, you heard my cries,

you set me free and wiped my eyes,

and promised me life abundantly.

Oh praise you Lord for now I see.

Freeman just by listening to him:

“The problem of terrorism that now bedevils us has its origins in.....the Middle East. To end this terrorism we must address the issues in the region that give rise to it. Principal among these is the brutal oppression of the Palestinians by an Israeli occupation. ....Israel no longer even pretends to seek peace with the Palestinians...” Freeman, May 2007.

JWR columnist Frank Gaffney comments on this appointment as follows:

“It strains credulity that a man with such pronounced — and anti-American — policy views can serve effectively, let alone objectively, as the arbiter of National Intelligence Estimates. ..... The evidence suggests that he is what he appears to be: an aggressive partisan in the service of many of America’s most dangerous actual or potential adversaries.”

Freeman is a paid shill for both Saudi Arabia and China. His foundation just received a million dollar gift from a Saudi Prince. The Middle East Policy Forum, among other things, urges the inclusion of a sanitized version of Whahabbism in our school system’s textbooks. A former ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Chas Freeman is the President’s choice to head the National Intelligence Council. The facts tell us that he is an unlikely candidate for any vital planning position which requires a studied objectivity, as opposed to partisanship. As such he will help shape Middle East strategy for our President, instead of foreign policy for the princes of Saudi Arabia. Not only does Freeman’s appointment endanger Israel, but his commercial ties to China also bring into question his views on Taiwan which, like Israel, he disdains and sees as an impediment to US interests.

JWR columnist Caroline Glick in the Jerusalem Post characterizes his appointment as such: “Freeman is an outspoken opponent of Israel. He has stated repeatedly that the source of Islamic and Arab hostility toward the U.S. and violence against Americans — including the September 11 attacks — is the American alliance with Israel. Were the U.S. to abandon Israel — which he believes is solely to blame for the Arab world’s rejection of its right to exist and for Iran’s stated intention to destroy it — then the U.S. would have no further difficulties with the Arabs or Iran.”

Add to all of this an in-and-out re entry into the Durban process; Obama’s team players who provide running commentary on Israel’s election that can only be interpreted as meddling

with Israeli democracy; and a European-style curtailment of arms shipments to Israel except for those deemed ‘defensive only,’ and one can’t help but believe that the Obama Administration has traveled far in six short weeks.

For many who feel the jury is still out, the obeisance to the Arab world at the expense of Israel makes it clear that there is a verdict in the offing here.

One thing is clear: American Jews who supported and voted for change should open their eyes to this reality and rethink their blind allegiance to this administration in terms of its policy towards Israel. Congress, which has always been a bulwark of support for Israel in this country can take the lead in this initiative, and Americans would do well to be supportive of its efforts.

Mark Kirk, a Republican from Illinois, has called for an investigation on the closeness of Freeman to the Saudis. Democrat Steve Israel of New York has also written a letter to the Investigator General of the National Security Council asking for an investigation of Chas Freeman’s fitness for this appointment.

Americans did not vote in this last election for a major realignment to the historical alliance we have with Israel. Asking our senators and representatives to inject greater oversight of our newly appointed Middle East foreign policy team and Chas Freeman in particular is a constructive exercise. Supporting those who are making this inquiry is a good start.

I’ve done some daft things in my time, but interviewing someone who wasn’t there for the best

part of an hour must be in a class of its own. The person in question, Ian O’Connell, director of London-based Musion, wasn’t invisible. I could follow his every movement, gesture and eye motions: it was just that he himself was somewhere else. I was chatting to one of his company’s products, or maybe I should say non-products: a hologram.

Up until that moment, I had seen ho-lograms as a bit of technol-ogy freakshow used by the likes of Ma-donna, David Beckham and the Gorillaz band as one-off stunts, but not something that could go mainstream and become part of our daily lives. Now I am not so sure. I was sitting a few yards from a stage on which were O’Connell and Lenny McKinlay, glob-al account director of Masergy UK, which provides the ultra-fast fibre-op-tic infrastructure that enables holo-grams to come from far away without getting the lag you see on television when someone is being interviewed abroad by satellite.

After a short while I simply forgot that one of them wasn’t there but in anoth-er part of the building (he could have been in Tokyo), just being beamed in for the occasion. And looking back on it, I am not completely sure which was the hologram and which wasn’t – so it passes a Turing test of sorts for authenticity. It was an even more immersive experience than Telepres-ence, the high-definition video confer-encing that impressed me last year.

You don’t appear to be talking through a screen, though there is a thin, almost invisible foil that enables the reproduction of high-definition video that audiences imagine to be real. Shortly before the interview, I was shown a demo of a “pre-loaded” hologram of a dancer that was in even better definition. It was simply a knockout. O’Connell says that pretty soon “live” holograms will be as good as that.

At the moment, cost is a big barrier because a projector, the main item, costs an arm and a leg, but within five years, he claims, it could come down to a more affordable £2,000 to £3,000

– hopefully propelling the product from a business conferencing market to a front room near you. If you have a space that is 10 feet high and 10 feet across – possibly a conservatory that could be converted for evening use – then the mind boggles at the possibilities. Friends and relatives abroad, or your Twitter friends, could be as if in your front room. The Royal Shakespeare Company could per-form near-live for you and, of course, the one certainty is the sex industry, always a pioneer of new technology, will go ballistic about it. Institutions

such as the BBC are already explor-ing the prospects for distance learn-ing, which could also involve univer-sities beaming their lecturers into your home.

Prison visits could be done remotely and eventually it may provide a sort of virtual afterlife if anyone decided to leave behind a pre-loaded holo-gram, possibly linked to a computer program using artificial intelligence to “converse” with relatives. Students at Central St Martins art college in Lon-don are being given an opportunity to experiment with art in a hologrammic space and have already turned out some impressive works.

To the mobile phone companies’ defi-nition of 3G – games, girls and gam-bling – could be added a fourth “g”, God, as the new technology would enable America’s stable of evange-lists, and any other public speakers, to address meetings around the world without leaving their well-clad homes. What price confessions at home? Before leaving Musion’s of-fices in London, a listed building near the BBC’s headquarters, I asked if I could do a hologrammic handshake. The result can be seen here and it is not immediately obvious which is the hologram. I know, but only because I wrote it down at the time. All of which is beginning to make virtual worlds such as Second Life seem a bit like the Lego of old.

FREEDOM

A tremendous pyramid of evidence for design and recent creation is available for detailed study.

Romans 1:20 states: “For the invisible things of him from the creation are clearly seen, being understood by the

things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead: so that they are without excuse.”

OUR CREATED EARTH UNIQUELY DESIGNED FOR LIFE

"Speak to the Earth, and it shall teach thee;...Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?” Job 12:8a, 9

Of all the lessons which the Earth continually teaches us, perhaps the most obvious and profound is that it alone among the worlds framed by the Word of God (Heb. 11:3) is divinely crafted, sculpt-

ed, and engineered to sustain life. In fact the more we learn about our solar system and the universe, the more unique our Earth becomes. As home to over one million different species of life, each with its own spe-cial criteria for survival, the Earth repeatedly reinforces the fact that God orchestrated each detail necessary for terrestrial existence.

“For thus saith the LORD Who created the heavens, God Himself Who formed the Earth and made it; He hath established it, He cre-ated it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited; I am the LORD, and there is none else.” Isaiah 45: 18

The Creator’s matchless formula for life on Earth involves a multitude of planetary parameters work-ing together in a specific and delicate balance. So precise is this prescription, a mere absence or slight alteration in any one of the countless interrelated factors and mu-tually-dependent variables upon which life hinges could prove cataclysmic. Consider these more noticeable re-quirements upon which all life on our world depends:

(1) Abundance of Liquid Water --- This flowing treasure is unique in the combination of physical and chemical properties it manifests as the only possible solvent and medium for living cells. More than 70% of the planet is covered by some 326 million cubic miles of liquid water, enough to submerge a perfectly smooth and spherical Earth to a depth of 8,500 feet (over 1.6 miles!!). [Gen. 1:2, 10b / Job 38:34 / Ps. 33:7 / Rev.14:7b; see also Gen. 7:10 & Ps. 104:6]

(2) Cleansing Ocean Tides --- The ebb and flow of Earth’s tidal circula-tion (in response to the lunar gravitational pull) purifies the world ocean and the continental shorelines which serve to enclose its waters. [Prov. 8:29a / Job 26:10; 38:11 / Ps. 104:9]

(3) Ideal Planetary Size and Mass --- With an equatorial diameter of 7,927 miles (Job 38:18 / Isa. 40:22a) and a mass equal to nearly 6.588 sextillion (10 ^ 23 = billion trillion) tons, the Earth is able to provide the perfect gravitational attraction and optimum atmospheric pressure for liv-ing organisms. [Job 28:25 / !sa. 40:12]

(4) Life-Sustaining Atmosphere --- It has been said of the Earth that “the existence of its inhabitants hangs upon a thin and delicate sheath of gas that envelops the planet like the skin of an apple.” Though over 99% of our atmosphere (composed of 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and 1% other gases) lies below 50 miles in altitude, it still is able to (a) provide the necessary oxygen crucial for animal and human respiration, (b) preserve acceptable temperature ranges while avoiding life-threatening extremes of heat and cold, and (c) protect from incoming extraterrestrial debris and (UV) solar radiation. [Gen. 1:20b / Job 37:18 / Ps. 104:3,13]

STUDY: ABORTION CAUSES FUTURE PREMATURE BIRTHS

A recently released study links induced abortion with subse-quent premature births.

LifeSiteNews.com notes the analysis was published in February’s Journal of Reproductive Medicine and com-bined data from 21 studies rang-ing from 1995 to 2007. The report studied links between preterm births related to induced abortion and spon-taneous miscarriage. Wanda Franz, president of the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), says it makes sense. “And of course there’s a logical connection that if you have an abortion where you’re artificially intervening in a pregnancy so that you can potentially damage the system of the mother, that you might create conditions

under which preterm delivery would be more likely,” she contends. The study found that previous induced abortions increased a woman’s chances of having a premature delivery by 64 percent. NRLC has watched confirming studies come out over the years, but Franz ad-mits that pro-life messages are often overshadowed. “We have always argued that this was very likely a risk with abortion,” Franz explains, “but of course, the pro-abortion advocates have always denied any possible negative effect of abor-tion.”

“We presented information on programs that are effective in helping women, in reduc-ing abortions, and in promoting fatherhood,” reports the CWA president. “We expressed the vi-tal role of faith-based profession-als in the healthcare industry.”

Those individuals could be neg-atively affected if the president eliminates conscience rules for healthcare professionals. The group also stressed that federal funding of family planning has not reduced abortions.

So what was accomplished by the session? Wright says it was

just a first step. “Having a face-to-face meet-ing with Joshua Dubois is a good start in that we get to know one another, learn how to work with one another, and determine what kind of infor-mation needs to be shared,” the pro-life leader explains.

According to Wright, the head of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighbor-hood Partnerships promised future meetings if needed -- and considering the pro-abortion intentions of the administration, such meetings are likely to be requested.
