ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALLNot all the resources in these workshops will work for you. Not everyone comes to the workshops with the same classroom experiences or expectations. There isn't one perfect tool or one right way to utilize Web 2.0 tools in the classroom. I think it it is important to look at the usefulness of a Web 2.0 tool for yourself before you can really think about how to bring it to your students. So, my hope is that you learn something new today and want to explore at least one of these resources. If you have any questions or comments, the discussion tab is open and my email is available to you.

WORDLE (www.wordle.net)
Wordle Lesson Sample: • Pupils were asked to look at
the word clouds, with a dictionary, and try to ascertain the gist of the original articles.
• Half the class then explained to the other half what they thought their article was about while I displayed each word cloud in turn on the interactive whiteboard (see illustrations), highlighting words one at a time and extracting relevant / useful vocabulary.
• I then handed out copies of the original articles in full to my pupils and discussed the vocabulary further
GOOGLE DOCS• Google Docs is a free, web-based

Teacher comments:
“I’ve always spent so long making comments on student papers and it may be that half of the time those comments are never even be read. I still can’t force students to read everything, but I can refer back to previous comments on earlier assignments, and identify patterns.”
“Another advantage to Google Docs is that it’s easy for the teacher to be involved in the entire writing process and not just the final product.”
“I like that I can view the doc before it’s finished, and even check back on
earlier versions of the document to get an idea of how the paper was built up.”
