The IRS tax deadline is April 15, 2013. In order for usto better serve you in preparing your 2012 tax returns,it is important that you bring the following with youwhen you come for assistance:
All 2012 tax documents
Your 2011 tax return (and your AARP envelope)
Your Social Security card and a current photo ID
Your spouse (if you are filing jointly)
A check (if you want direct deposit of your refund)
All W-2's, 1099's & 1098's A list of other expenses, deductions, and childcare
information
In addition, so that you can take advantage of the newtax breaks, IF, in 2012, you:
Owned your home, bring property tax receipts
Bought a new car, bring purchase price and dateand documents-fee data
Installed energy-saving devices (windows, doors,insulation, furnace, air conditioning, roofing, waterheaters), bring invoices, receipts, and manufacturers'certificate
Bought a new house (before September 30, 2012),bring bill of sale and closing forms
You need not itemize on your return to claimthese tax breaks.
