Prehistoric LondonImagine elephants, mammoths and cave bears roaming around the capital and see their remarkable remains.

Roman LondonSee models of the Basilica and Forum and see what you could buy in our Roman market.

Saxon LondonExplore a Saxon house and try to work out from the sights and sounds how they lived.

Great Fire of London Find out about one of the most turbulent times in London’s history and try on a fire fighter’s helmet.

Modern LondonFind your street on interactive maps and find out what the first children’s television programmes were like.

Making the most of your visitBorrow our activity bags, activity sheets and iPads (ages 2-13) to explore the museum. Take part in fun, hands-on activities on Sundays from 12-2pm.

Planning your visit to the Museum of London

Admission FREE, suggested donations of £5 welcome.

Open daily 10am – 6pm. Closed 24-26 December.

Free public WiFi available.

The award-winning Benugo offers a delicious menu at our two cafés. Highchairs are available. Our restaurant London Wall Kitchen is open 9am – 11pm. Food is served 11am – 9pm Mon-Fri, 12-4pm Sat & Sun.

A lunch space is also open for picnics during weekends and school holidays.

The museum is fully accessible to buggies and wheelchair users. Lockers can be hired for £1 per use and baby-changing facilities are also available. The Galleries of Modern London include induction loops, Braille panels, touch objects and audio guides for the visually impaired. Please call or visit our website to find out about the facilities that may help you during your visit. Free audio described tours are available for visually impaired adults and some lectures and walks can be BSL interpreted on request. To book please call 020 7001 9844 at least two weeks before your intended visit.

The Museum of London is easy to get to!

Planned engineering works on the Underground may disrupt your journey so please check www.tfl.gov.uk before you visit.

The museum entrance is located on a pedestrian highwalk level. Arriving from St Paul’s and Barbican tube station, there is lift access from street level at St Martin’s Le Grand and Aldersgate Street.

From Roman settlement to Docklands’ regeneration, this 200 year old warehouse reveals the long history of London as a port through stories of trade, migration and commerce.

SailortownVenture into the mysterious alleyways of 19th century Sailortown. Eavesdrop on tales of the high seas in the pub and glimpse curious displays in the Animal Emporium.

Warehouse of the WorldSmell exotic spices once shipped into London and stored in its seemingly endless warehouses with this hands-on display. Play touch screen games to find out where in the world imports to London’s docks came from.

Making the most of your visitFREE Explorer back packs are available to borrow every day from the information desk for children aged 2-5. Refundable deposit required. Join us for creative family activities on the second Saturday of the month.

The museum café is conveniently located on the entrance level next to Mudlarks. A tasty children’s menu and highchairs are available, as well as a picnic area during weekends and school holidays.

Our restaurant Rum & Sugar is open Tue-Sun, opening hours vary. See www.rumandsugar.co.uk for details.
