Play Responsiblygamblinghelponline.org.au 1800 858 858

For your dream state

Celebrating our state, thanks to you. By simply playing our games, you’ve helped create WA Day events and activities all across WA. These community events bring us all together to celebrate our collective identity and appreciate the great place we live in.

You live in a dream state, and it’s all yours for the taking.

Search ‘Lotterywest’ for more stories.

Take Transperth to WA DayAdditional trains will stop at Burswood Station for the event. To get to Burswood Station, catch an Armadale/Thornlie Line train from Platform 4/5 at Perth Station.

Burswood Park is a 15-minute walk from the train station. Trains travelling to Perth will depart Burswood Station frequently to get you home after the event.

Trains will be busier than usual due to the AFL at Optus Stadium on Sunday afternoon so allow extra travel time.

Timetabled buses will operate on a Sunday/Public holiday timetable across the Transperth network.

For the cheapest way to get to the festival, a $12.80 Family Rider is just the ticket. Up to seven people (two standard and five concession) can travel for the whole day - so there’s no need to buy a return ticket.

Visit the Transperth website or download the Transperth app to plan your journey.

E VISIT BURSWOOD PARKTake time out from the Festival to stroll around beautiful and tranquil Burswood Park. Relax amongst the landscaped gardens, floral displays, public art and sculpture trails, children’s playgrounds and picnic areas.

Western Australian of the Year Awards Lake and Swan Fountain. The centrepiece of Burswood Park is, without doubt, its tranquil lake. It features a stunning bronze sculpture of a black swan that recognises recipients of the prestigious Western Australian of the Year Award and honours those people who have made the highest level of contribution to both state and community.

This is the day to come together to celebrate our shared values and cultural diversity. The WA Day Festival pays tribute to our Aboriginal history, our early European migrant background and the diverse range of international people who have made, and continue to make, Freo and WA their home.

Local Aboriginal Elders will open the event with a traditional smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country, followed by music and dance performances from several different cultures. A corroboree will take place at Bathers Beach later in the day.

You can enjoy musical and dance events in and around the harbour from talented performers who reflect the diverse background of WA’s residents. The Festival will culminate with a dazzling lights and pyrotechnics display at the family-friendly time of 6pm on Sunday.
