2 East Gippsland Children’s Week
Children's Week Children’s Week is an annual event which will be celebrated from 19 -27
October, 2019.
It is an opportunity to celebrate children and childhood and for the
community to get involved in a variety of activities that
encourage children and their families to play, learn and grow
together.
This year’s Children’s Week theme is based on the United Nations
Convention on the Rights of the Child: Article 24. Children have the right
to good quality health care, clean water, nutritious food and a clean envi-
ronment so that they will stay healthy.
A number of organisations, community groups and businesses are
holding events and activities across East Gippsland to
celebrate Children's Week. We encourage you to get involved and join in
the celebrations.
East Gippsland Shire acknowledges the Gunai Kurnai, Monero and
Bidawel people as the Traditional Custodians of the land that
encompasses the East Gippsland Shire.
