Here’s another fun activity to do with your class around Christmas time - a Christmas guess who game! What you need: Some post-it notes and a felt-tip pen. How to play: Write down some well-known Christmas characters and objects on post-it notes – with each character/object written on a separate post-it. Get a child to pick a post-it without looking at it (you could fold them and put them in a hat). They then stick their post-it on their forehead so that the rest of the class can read it, but they can’t. The aim of the game is for the child to correctly guess their character/object. They need to ask their classmates ‘yes/no’ style questions to try to figure out who/what their Christmas character/object is. For example: ‘Am I a person?’ The class then answer yes/no. The child then asks another yes/no question to continue narrowing down their options, and so on. After a while, they might be ready to make a guess. The round ends when the child correctly guesses their character/object. Extra suggestions You could make the game a bit harder by getting everyone to select their post-its in one go, sticking them to their heads, and then taking it in turns to go round the class, with each child asking one question at a time. This makes it trickier as you start to forget what questions you have and haven’t answered! Character and object ideas: Santa (of course!), Rudolph, a snowman, an angel, an elf, Jesus, Mary, Christmas tree, Christmas present, a donkey, a Christmas stocking, a Christmas turkey, a Christmas pudding. Possible questions to get your kids started: Am I a person? Am I male or female? Am I an animal?
