Historical Information• Enabling legislation passed in March 1948

• FEH BOCES established July 29, 1948

• John F. Byrnes was the first District Superintendent

• Initially covered Franklin County except Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake

• Lake Placid and three Wilmington Districts added in 1966

• Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake joined in 1968

• Long Lake and Raquette Lake were added in 1971 resulting in the configuration that remains today

Annual Professional Performance Review• Staff other than principals and classroom teachers will see no change in the

evaluation process

• Principals and classroom teachers, subject to 3012-c/3012-d, will start the 2015-2016 year utilizing the existing APPR plan

• Negotiations will take place with the teacher and administrator units beginning as early as this month, as we develop a new plan for submission to NYSED

• Earliest date for moving to a new plan is November 2015

• Latest date for moving to a new plan that covers the 2015-2016 School Year is March 1, 2016
