GROWS
Dear 4-H Families,
Thanks to all of you, we had another great fair!
We received many compliments on the 4-H Exhibits Building.
Visitors commented on the quantity and quality of your ex-
hibits! We had a lot of fun with the VEGGIE 500 and thanks
to our talented 4-H’ers we raised $500 for the Franklin Coun-
ty Relay for Life with our Bucket of Junk Sculpture Silent Auc-
tion! As always we enjoyed looking at all the Clover Kids ex-
hibits, and learned something at the educational presenta-
tions and working exhibits.
Now that the fair is over and school is right around the cor-
ner, it’s time to start those record books! If you need help,
just call or stop in. We have forms here at the office or you
can find them on-line at our website listed in the newsletter.
If you have completed 4th grade or older take advantage of
the county awards application enclosed. Leaders, you too
can nominate members for the Helping Hands Awards!

4-H Award Interviews!
4-H members interested in earning a county 4-H award for
project or club work, partial to full scholarships for out-of-
county 4-H events, or to become a volunteer on a youth
council, can do so through an interview on Tuesday, Sep-
tember 26, or Wednesday, September 27, location TBA.
See enclosed form.
TOP Project Awards are available at the Junior, Intermediate
and Senior levels, just as in the record book awards. Mem-
bers may apply for up to 2 project areas. Please bring some
documentation of your project work.
Members interested in earning the New Member, Junior
Award, Intermediate Award, Achievement Award, or the
Senior Trip to Chicago, will now have to go through the in-
terview process. Senior members can also use the inter-
view process to prepare for State 4-H Interviews!
Youth interested in volunteering to serve on the Clover Kids
Youth Council, Senior Youth Council, as a camp counselor,
or willing to lead a county project workshop, will need to
apply and interview as well.
All new 4-H members joining this fall will be eligible for par-
tial scholarships to out-of-county 4-H events, but current
members will need to interview to receive partial or full
scholarships to attend! You may not know at this time if
you will be attending these events, but it is wise to inter-
view now!!
