franklin canyon, superior court decision, oct. 16, 2012
DESCRIPTION
Judge Yvette M. Palazuelos's decision that the Hastain Trail in Franklin Canyon has been dedicated for public use and will remain open to the public. This is a tremendous victory for all who believe John Muir's words: "Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul." We all owe a debt of gratitude to Ellen Scott, the courageous woman who put herself in front of a bulldozer to protect the trail, and who subsequently organized opposition to the developer's plans. Bravo, Ellen!
