HISTORYLEARN MORE ABOUT THE NTY CLOTHING EXCHANGE FRANCHISE!President and Director, Ronald G. Olson, founded NTY Franchise Company in 2006. NTY Franchise Company purchased the franchise rights for Clothes Mentor and New Uses from Dennis and Lynn Blum who are the Founders. NTY started Franchising Clothes Mentor in 2007. Clothes Mentor buys and sells used women’s clothing from sizes 0-26, shoes, handbags and accessories. Today there are 171 stores sold and 113 stores opened. New Uses buys and sells used home furnishings and accessories and has 12 stores sold and 10 stores opened.

From 1988 to 2000 Mr. Olson was President and Director of Grow Biz International (Now called Winmark, a public company). During this time Mr. Olson purchased the Franchise rights for Once Upon A Child, Plato’s Closet, Play It Again Sports and Music Go Round. Currently there are over 1,000 locations for these four brands.

In 2007, Chad A. Olson joined NTY Franchise Company, adding his 13 years of management experience from Grow Biz International to the Clothes Mentor team. Chad’s expertise encompasses business planning, store design, store location, POS and overall training. His knowledgeable leadership in these areas provides valuable support to franchise owners.

NTY Franchise Company purchased Laptop Exchange Franchise in 2013. Laptop Exchange has changed their name to Device Pitstop. They buy and sell used laptops, iPads, smartphones and service these devices. Device Pitstop is located in 5 states with over 20 sold.

In 2014 Mr. Olson opened two new brands, NTY Clothing Exchange and NTY Kids. NTY Clothing Exchange buys and sells clothing, shoes and accessories for teens and young adults and NTY Kids buys and sells clothing, shoes, accessories and equipment from newborns to age 14.

MEET OUR MANAGEMENT GROUP

PRESIDENT: RONALD G. OLSONRon Olson has been President and a director of NTY Franchise Company since October 2006. Olson’s background includes starting his career at Dayton’s Department Store and held many management positions. In 1977 he opened his own furniture store in Minnesota, which was a Drexel Heritage prototype store. In 1988 he co-founded Grow Biz International now called Winmark. The first franchise rights that Olson purchased and started marketing was Play It Again Sports. Olson continued buying the Franchise rights for Once Upon A Child, Plato’s Closet and Music Go Round. Today there over 1,000 Franchise locations.

Under the NTY Franchise Company the company bought the Franchise rights for Clothes Mentor and New Uses. In 2013 Olson bought the Franchise company called Laptop Exchange and changed the name to Device Pitstop. In 2014 the company opened NTY Clothing Exchange and NTY Kids. There are currently 204 stores sold and 133 stores opened under the NTY Franchise umbrella.

CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER: CHAD OLSON Chad Olson has been Chief Operations Officer of NTY Franchise Company since January 2007. From May 1994 to December 2006, he held various positions for Winmark Corporation (f/k/a Grow Biz International, Inc.), including Field Operations Manager for the Once Upon a Child® concept from 1999 to 2002 and Regional Operations Manager for the Plato’s Closet® concept from 2002 to 2006.

VICE PRESIDENT OF FRANCHISING: JAMES WOLLMAN James Wollman has been Vice President of Franchising for NTY Franchise Company since January 2007. From April 2004 to December 2006, he was Director of Franchising for Dunn Bros Coffee Franchising, Inc., located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. From December 1991 to April 2004, he served in franchise sales and development for Winmark Corporation (f/k/a Grow Biz International, Inc.), located in Golden Valley, Minnesota.

VICE PRESIDENT OF SOFT GOODS: TED MANLEYTed Manley has been Vice President of NTY Clothing Exchange and NTY Kids since January 2014 and Vice President of Clothes Mentor since November 2013. Ted has held many management positions with Grow Biz International now called Winmark. Mr. Manley was President of all Winmark Brands, which included Once Upon a Child, Plato’s Closet, Music Go Round and Play It Again Sports. There are currently over 1,000 locations for the four brands.

VICE PRESIDENT OF NEW USES AND DIRECTOR OF NEW STORE DEVELOPMENT: PETE PALMISANO

Pete Palmisano was promoted to Vice President of New Uses in 2014. Mr. Palmisano has been our Director of New Store Development and oversees New Store Development for Clothes Mentor, Device Pitstop, NTY Clothing Exchange and NTY Kids. Pete started his career with Dayton Hudson department stores. Pete joined Grow Biz in 1992 with Once Upon a Child and held many management positions. He was a Multi-Site Operations Manager with Macy’s based in Minneapolis, Minnesota and then General Merchandise Manager with Linder’s Greenhouse, Inc., in St. Paul, Minnesota before joining NTY Franchise company.

DIRECTOR OF STORE OPERATIONS: BECKY GEYER

Becky Geyer has been Director of Store Operations since May 2014, overseeing our company store operations for Clothes Mentor, NTY Clothing Exchange and NTY Kids. Prior to joining NTY Franchise Company, Ms. Geyer was the Vice President of Marketing for the Carlson Companies under the Carlson Wagonlit Travel Franchise Group. Becky also held various management positions with Grow Biz International–now called Winmark Corporation. While there, she headed up the Once Upon A Child and Plato’s Closet franchise brands and managed the systems’ growth to over 250 locations.

Laura Thueringer has been our Director of Training and New Store Development since April 2014. Laura started with NTY Franchise Company in 2008 with Clothes Mentor and has held many roles including: Store Manager, New Store Opener, Regional Operations Manager and Senior Operation Manager. Prior to joining NTY Franchise Company Laura spent 12 years working many different positions with Old Navy (Gap, Inc.).

Jenny Mann has been the Director of Marketing since January 2013. Jenny started with the NTY Franchise Company in 2008 with Clothes Mentor and has held many roles including: Store Manager, New Store Opener and Regional Operations Manager.
