Once you have been accepted as a LockRite Locksmith you will be allocated your own protected territory. We refer to this as your local area, in which you may build anddevelop a customer base. We also allocate you a much larger call-out territory which is not exclusive, but will provide you with additional work if you are prepared to travel. Our national call centre is controlled by a comprehensive mapping and job tracking system that ensures accuracy when allocating work. As a LockRite Franchisee you will hold the licence for your area and as such will be expected to accept and complete the jobs offered to you whenever possible. Sometimes this is just not possible, especially at busy times, and when this starts to become a frequent occurrence you will have the option of expanding into a multi-van operation by adding a second or third van to your franchise, creating even more earningpotential.

Your comprehensive training takes place at our purpose-built training facility based at our Head Office in Exeter. You will complete 3 weeks of theory and practical training covering all the fascinating aspects of locksmithing. The intensity of the programme is such that you may be required to complete some tasks in the evening, whilst staying in your accommodation. Don’t worry, our trainer will work with you to ensure that you are confident at each stage of the course. After successfully completing the training, you will also be offered the opportunity to spend a few days with a qualified locksmith for some hands-on training with real customers.

As a LockRite locksmith, you will be qualified to open, pick, drill, replace and repair all manner of locks. You will also be trained in all the tricks of the trade including bypassing mechanisms, broken key extraction, car opening, how to cut replacement and duplicate keys, install digital locking systems, and repair & replace uPVC locks.

Optional Training

In addition to this, further training in window repairs, access control and door entry systems is available. This will create an all-round service for your customers and allow you to increase your earning potential.

Once your training is complete you will find yourself with a huge variety of professional techniques which will give you the best head start in your new career.

The day to day running of your business

It couldn’t be simpler to run your business with the LockRite system. You have completed the training and you are now a skilled locksmith. You are supplied with business cards, advertising material, stationery artwork, and flyers, all backed up by a professional web site linked to the UK’s major search engines. As long as you follow the LockRite business model, you will find managing your franchise is straight forward, allowing you more time to focus on completing call-outs and earning money.

What are my ongoing fees to the franchisor?

Will i be dealing with onlydomestic customers?

No, your services can be provided to housing associations, letting agencies, local authorities, utility companies, insurance companies, bailiff firms, and a wide range of other businesses.

How long will it take to get up and running?

Typically, it will take between 4 to 6 weeks from being accepted and making your commitment. Training places are limited, and are allocated on completion of the Franchise Agreement.
