Gérard Alary Gérard Alary is a French artist born in 1945. He lives and works in Ivry-sur-Seine. He graduated from the Beaux-Arts in Paris, and teaches at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Art in Dijon, France.

Unconcerned with formal trends, Alary is an artist of his time who struggles with his own idiosyncrasies. He has his way of approaching a painting, vertically or hori-zontally, through successive layers of pigments and liquid that he applies, spreads, outlines and highlights, almost like boiling matter on the canvas. The powerful image is born, arising from the flowing streams of magma that mix together and settle, strong and full of significations when the artist finally decides that the gesture has met the ex-pected image. Success or failure ensues, along with ac-cidents and diversions inherent to the creative process.

Alary claims his voice, his fears, anxieties, secrets, desires and hopes through his art, deaf to complacency. His art is direct, rough; it troubles us and makes us dizzy. His paintings speak about life and death; there is nothing anecdotal in them. Their drippings are tears. We might see our lives in them.

Nebojsa Bezanic Born in 1964 in Cacak, Serbia, Nebojsa Bezanic lives and works in Asnieres-sur-Seine, France. Bezanic has had a passion for art since childhood, and at the age of sixteen enrolled at the Academia of Decorative Arts in Belgrade, where he studied painting. He graduated in 1986, and expressed his artworks primarily through two techniques: ink and oil painting.

His paintings and the atmosphere emerging from them are reminiscent of the fascinating world of Hieron-ymus Bosch. Like those of the Dutch painter, Bezan-ic’s paintings distinguish themselves by the abundance of characters and the profusion of decorative elements. These scenes are organized on a dark background where the painter detaches effectively reds and oranges with a strong sense of aesthetics. The world of Bezanic mixes the ages and iconographic references within fantastic landscapes that can be interpreted as scenes of delirium or dreams.

Mauro Corda A French sculptor born in 1960, Corda is sensitive to color. He not only uses the most diverse patinas, but also applies chrome, silver, gilding and paint to his bronzes. Starting from the same color sensitivity, Corda has gone on to other materials besides bronze, casting sculptures in aluminum and iron. As he regularly spends time in the Italian town of Pietrasanta, he also works in marble and terra cotta. It is astonishing to see how this wizard-sculp-tor commands the diverse techniques necessary for the varied material applications.

But these experiments with materials lead back to Corda’s central theme: to portray people in the most di-verse roles, environments, and situations. The sculptor’s expressiveness is too strong for just one material. He re-casts a bronze bust of an Asian girl in ceramic, because it allows him to illuminate aspects of her essence that remain hidden in bronze. A white marble fist, in positive and neg-ative form, has a gentle quality, while an aluminum male torso takes on an almost divine radiance.

Anne-Marie Debelfort Born July 16th, 1947, Anne-Marie Debelfort attended the National School of Fine Arts (attending Chaplain-Midy and Andre Tondu Workshops,) and earned a Higher Di-ploma of Visual Arts with honors. In 1973 she was award-ed the Gold Medal at the Salon des Artistes Français and from 1974 to 1975 participated in a group exhibition in Moscow Leningrad. In 1975 she was awarded the Prize Rocheron by the Ministry of Culture, in 1978 participated in the Grand Prize for the Young Artists Exhibition with the Français Exposition group traveling to Japan organized by Nippon Television, and in 1979 was awarded the Prize Achille Fould Stirbey by the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1980 she was awarded the Grand Prix Biennale Conches-en-Ouche and the Prix Eugène Piot by the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1981 she was awarded the Lions Club “Ile de France” and in 1982 was part of a group of ten French portrait painters selected by the Royal Society of portrait painters to exhibit in London. In 1987 she had a personal exhibition at the Museum of Etampes. She participated in several group exhibitions in and out of Paris from 1990 to 1998 and in 2002 was awarded the Frederick Carfort Award by the Fondation de France.

Drago Dedic This beautiful, rough-hewn artist was born in 1937 in Orahovo, Montenegro. He began primary school in 1946, the same year his father was imprisoned for his political opinions. Dedic left home in 1950 for Podujevo, Kosovo and finished his secondary school studies while support-ing himself. In 1955, he went home to Montenegro and entered senior high school. Dedic was then a streetwise youngster, but, attracted to literature and the theatre, he wrote a play for which he won third prize in a competition. He once again had to leave his native land, this time for Prizen, Kosovo, after participating in a student strike. In 1961, he began studying at the Faculty of Electronics in the Montenegro capital, Titograd. He taught in 1963 and 1964 at the Drezga School in Piperi, and served in the army until 1965, after which he remained in Belgrade and studied at the School of Politics. He travelled to France in 1967, and stayed. His first exhibition was at the Galerie Lambert in 1973. For many years now he has been exclu-sively devoted to his work as an artist. Dedic has been a member of the French “Maison des Artistes” since 1977 and the Montenegro Union of Artists since 1983.

Jean Duranel Born in Fecamp, France in 1946, Jean Duranel is a graduate of Fine Arts in Rouen and Paris. Duranel won the prize of Le Havre in 1974 and has participated in nu-merous group exhibitions since 1966. He exhibited at the Salon de Mai in 1986 and at the Biennale 109, where he was President from 1995 to 1999. Has had several solo shows internationally. He expresses the everyday life in a joyful humor.

Abraham Hadad Abraham Hadad was born in 1937 in Baghdad, Iraq. Hadad arrived in Israel in 1951, attended the School of Fine Arts in Tel Aviv from 1956 until 1960, and settled in Paris in 1965. From 1965 until 1970 he attended the National School of Fine Arts, Paris, and won first prize for painting at Vitry-sur-Seine in 1972 then second prize for graphic arts at the Museum of Tel Aviv in 1973. Hadad lectured at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1977 to 2002. Currently he lives and works in Paris and in Provence.

Jean-François Larrieu Jean-François Larrieu was born on February 28, 1960 in Tarbes (Hautes-Pyrénées). Though he describes himself as self-taught, Larrieu joined the François Villon painting Academy when he was eleven years old. One year later, in 1972, he was awarded the Prix François Vil-lon. In 1978, he was awarded a painting prize from the Musée Béarnais of the City of Pau and his first museum exhibition was held. In 1982, Larrieu settled in Paris. In 1987, he became co-founder of the Defense Committee for artists of the Grand Palais. His works henceforth were to be found on the walls of many salons and group exhibi-tions such as the Salon Comparaison, Figuration Critique and, of course, the Salon d’Automne where he became a board member in 1990 and is today President. Through his pictorial expression, Larrieu is the direct descendant of the painters Paul Klee and Joan Miro. His favorite subjects are trees, a re-emphasis of roots and the absolute necessity of a genuine blossoming for man’s survival. Since 1982, Jean-François Larrieu has had over sixty one-man shows and many group shows all over the world. From the start, his work has been the focus of muse-um exhibitions in France and abroad. The Opera Gallery in Singapore, Paris, New York, London, Miami, Venice, Hong Kong and Seoul regularly presents his works. Jean-François Larrieu lives and works in Paris and Saint Jean de Luz.

François Legrand Born in 1951 in Etampes, François Legrand earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Paris 1, François Legrand joined the Etampes’ School under the direction of Philippe Lejeune. In 1973 Legrand settled in Beauce and then, beginning in 1974, taught drawing and painting at the Institute of Visual Arts Orleans until 1979. After a year in Rabat, he devoted himself entirely to painting. From 1994 to 2011, he divided his time between France and Spain. He is now based in Paris.

Michèle Lellouche Born in Tunisia, Michèle Lellouche began her studies in the studio of Markoff and the Beaux-Arts of Tunis at the age of thirteen. Moving to Paris during the political revolt, she finished her studies at the Beaux-Arts of Paris and in 1982 was received at the Académie de Port-Royal. Lellouche has worked with the masters Marzelle, Ravel, Claude Shurr, J. M. Relange and more, in the Atelier Ber-tholle, Paris and the École Glaciére, Paris.

Christian Mourey Born in 1957, Christian Mourey’s recent accom-plishments are dazzling. In 2013 alone, he participated in the Salon Comparaisons Art en Capital at the Grand Palais in Paris, the Salon des artistes de la ville de Paris, the Bi-ennale 109, the Biennale de Virflay, and the Librairie “LA TRAVEFtSE.” In 2014, Mourey participated in the 30th Bi-ennale de Conches-en-Ouche, had a personal exhibition at the Maison du Patrimoine, had an Artist’s Residence from February 17th to the 22nd at the P. Claudel College, and participated in Les Hivernales.

Moreno Pincas Born in Bulgaria, Moreno Pincas immigrated to Israel in 1949 then studied at Avni Institute in Tel Aviv and the Beaux Arts in Paris. Pincas was awarded first prize in the Biennale for Young Artists. Considered a precocious ar-tistic genius, Pincas is an unclassifiable artist who ignores fashion. Thanks to its peculiar density, his work raises the ordinary beyond everyday life, while calling upon us to go to the horizons where reality and imagination no longer confront each other. The central themes of Pincas’ works encompass circus scenes, images from the artist’s productive imag-ination, acrobats, animal tamers, horseback riders and flame-swallowers; imagery drawn from a colorful, rich, sometimes even bloody world. Pincas’ paintings offer an epic look at the style of realism influenced by masters such as Pascin, Goya, and Toulouse-Lautrec.

Anne Pourny Born in Tarbes, Anne Pourny attended the School of Art Martenot, Paris from 1965 until 1968. She participated in the Workshop Mahdavi at the American Cultural Cen-ter, Paris, from 1981 until 1983, and earned her History Bachelor of Art and Archaeology from 1983 until 1985 at the University of Paris X. Pourny served as the President of the Contemporary Art Fair “Itinéraires” Levallois-Perret from 1993 until 1996, Secretary General of the Salon d’Au-tomne in Paris from 1997 until 2003, and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Salon d’Automne and Presi-dent of the sections “Abstract Painting” and “Artist Books” from 2002 until 2008. Serving as Secretary General of the French National Council of Plastic Arts for UNESCO from 2002 until 2006, she was also an Executive Committee member of the International Association of Plastic Arts. From 2002 until 2010 she served as Treasurer for the SIG-NUM association of creative artists’ books. In 2010 she co-founded the group of abstract artists called “Resur-gence,” and in 2011 was Treasurer of the International As-sociation of Plastic Arts IAA. Pourny lives and works in the Paris area and in the southwest of France, and serves as Jury Member and Guest of Honor at many artistic events in France and abroad.

Jacques Rohaut Born in June 1950 in Morocco, Jacques Rohaut was a student to Philippe Lejeune, working for a year, in 1977, in a paintings conservator in Paris. A member of the School of Etampes, Rohaut continues to work a “live model” work-shop, giving advice to artists and providing internships. In 1996 Rohaut was appointed Official Painter of the Air and Space, in 2000 Official Painter of the Army, and in 2010 Official Painter of the Navy.
