Parish Fundraising As we are all aware, our parish community has been
challenged these last several months with flooding through own
our parish community, and, as a community, we should all be
proud how we have met this challenge.
While dealing with flood relief, we’ve also been faced
with unusual financial needs, specifically, replacement of the
Air Conditioning at I.C., a new roof for the rectory at H.R., and
the cost of new missals for the liturgical changes, all totaling
over $60,000.
We held a parish fundraising meeting last week to ad-
dress these financial challenges and we began laying the founda-
tion for our parish to continue on a solid financial footing for
next year.
As you know, lottery tickets have been distributed and
returns have been made. The tickets that have not been pur-
chased will be sold this weekend after masses.
Looking forward, we will hold our annual Night at the
Races in mid February. We will hold a planning meeting for
Night at the Races on December 14th at 7PM in the IC Hall.
In April we are planning a cooking demonstration/
dinner. We will be putting together a parish cookbook which
will be promoted at this event.
Our inaugural Parish Picnic was a great success last year
and plans for next years June picnic will start in January.
Watch the bulletin so you can plan which events you
would enjoy participating in or helping with.
We’ll have another general fundraising meeting in the
spring so we can start planning events for next Fall.
Our goal is to try to have something for everyone.
Thank you for your continued support.
Holy Name Fund Raiser Holy Name Society are selling $2 lottery tickets after all
masses. Each ticket contains 10 numbers to be matched
with the daily PM evening number drawing of the PA Lot-
tery for December 25th, 2011. Call Harry O’Dell at 654-
0776 or Jerry Yakobitis at 655-5528. Winning tickets will
receive $100. Proceeds from this fund raiser will help
benefit the local flood victims of our parish.
Night at the Races This past week we held our first planning meeting for our
annual “Night at the Races”. We decided it will be held
on February 18th at Immaculate Conception Hall….so
mark your calendar!! The next planning meeting will be
on January 11th at 7:00PM in ICC rectory. All are wel-
come!! Your participation will help make this important
fundraiser a success. ..and add to the fun.
Church Courtesy With the holidays upon us, our masses are more crowded.
We are asking everyone to please try to move into the cen-
ter of the pews to make the availability of seats more visi-
ble to everyone. Also, as parking is at a premium, we ask
that we all try to park within the lines in the parking lots,
thus not losing valuable spaces. Also, when leaving mass,
if we all could try to put the pew cards in the holders and
just stack the missalettes on the ends of the pews, our tidy
worship sites will be more accommodating. Thank you for
your help!
