    Mass Intentions for the Week

Fourth Sunday of Advent Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church December 20, 2020

    Dear OLSH Family:

Isn’t the story of the Incarnation the greatest gift to receive this year? God asks Mary to surrender to His Di-vine plan, which sounds impossible. BUT EVERYTHING GOOD IS POSSIBLE WITH GOD! Do we believe this? Christ-mas isn’t about Santa Claus or the office parties that did-n’t happen this year or anything else other than the birth of Jesus Christ, a real person, truly God.

Jesus is God and He took on human flesh to show us how to live and to save us from the finality of death. What hope there is in that! What more can we each do to bring the tenderness of the baby Jesus to our communities, state, and our country, as we live our lives. As we cele-brate Christmas this year, perhaps with heavy hearts, let’s be reflective. Let’s ask God to help us receive the Christ Child anew in our lives and let Him with the Holy Spirit change everything. Offer your life to Him. Insert yourself into the Holy Family. Christ will help us live differently. Do you desire that? That is the greatest gift – living the reali-ty of the Incarnation, for real.

    Prayers for a blessed Christmas.

With love and prayers, Fr. Francis

IMPORTANT NOTICE: All RE Classes will remain remote until January.

As you may be aware, there has been a positive COVID-19 exposure in our RE program. In an abundance of caution and adhering to the CDC guidelines we have chosen to revert to 100%

Online Learning for all RE classes until January. At this time we anticipate that classes will resume on Sunday, January 3. We have chosen to switch to remote classes to alleviate any worries or anxiety during the holiday season. The health and well-being of our OLSH families and parishioners is our paramount concern al-ways. All assignments will be posted on the Christ in Us portal or communicated via e-mail from your child’s catechist. Your support in working with your child to keep up with his/her assignments in these challenging days is important and much appreciated. If you have any questions, please contact:

OLSH 2021 Lottery Calendars Now Available!

Need a Christmas gift for that person who has everything? Lottery calendars can solve that and help your parish at the same time!

Here’s how it works: You choose a favorite 3-digit number:

Idea: maybe that person’s date of birth! and reserve that number for a $25. donation to OLSH.

A calendar for 2021 is produced with a dollar amount indicated on each day. The amounts range from $25.(most days) to $1000.(once) On any day that the number you have chosen is the winning 3-digit number, played straight as drawn in the NYS Pick 3 evening drawing your gift recipient (or your-self!) receive the amount listed in the calendar for that day!

COVID restrictions prevent Fran Dillon from being in the church lobby after Masses to reserve your numbers. If you would like to purchase an OLSH 2021 Lottery Calen-dar please email her at [email protected] Please make checks payable to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. Credit cards are also accepted. For any questions about how this fundraiser works and to make arrangements to purchase and receive one, contact Fran. It’s a great gift for the hard-to-buy-for people in your life!

    Ushers Needed for Christmas!!!

Given the current surge in COVID cases, we do not expect the usual large numbers of parishioners to be attending Christmas Mass in person. However, when/if we reach the maximum number al-lowed in the Church we will be using the Gym and then, when/if that reaches the permitted number, the Chapel. In the event we have to use those spaces we will need additional ushers to assist parishioners.

Any women or men able to serve as ushers for Christmas Masses are asked to contact Ray Hayes at : facili-

    2. Maintain social distancing.

    3. You may ENTER only through the MAIN door.

    4. Please follow the directions of the USHERS. They are here to help with seat assignments, distribution of Holy Communion, and entering and exiting the Church.
