Elevator Pitch Foursquare Fit is an application

that lets gym and fitness club members participate in promotions given by the gym. Fitness center owners will have easier and faster access to members’ information and a low-cost loyalty program.

Foursquare Fit: Check-ins/check-outs allow

members to enter possible promotions offered by the gym

Members would be able to participate in promotions offered by the gym including discounts on membership renewals, discounts on food/drinks at the gym, free passes to gym classes, free personal training sessions etc.

How Angela the Gym Owner Uses the app

Using the foursquare fit application, Angela is able to log into foursquare and view her members current status.

The “real-time” tab shows a list of members that have checked in on that day, beginning with the most current.

These features tell Angela who has checked in the most, who has checked out the most, how many members a certain advertising campaign brought in and how many times they renewed their memberships to the gym.

Clicking on the month tab will allow Angela to see the number of times a member has checked in that month

This application allows Angela to easily pick the winners of the monthly promotions by seeing the total tally of check-ins, check-outs or whatever criteria is needed for the given promotion.

Clicking on the year tab allows Angela to see how many times members have checked in during the entire year.

How Jessie the Gym Member Uses the app

Using this application, Jessie checks in at the gym through the Foursquare Fit knowing that this will enter her name into whatever promotion the gym is giving at that time, she will also check-out for the same reason.

Her motivation for checking in through Foursquare Fit is that the more times she comes to the gym, the better chance she has of winning the promotions.

Jessie can also request to have her workout log printed from the gym owner to see her total amount of workout time for that particular day, month or year.

Outside Research Local gym owners found value in this app.

They were most excited about the ability of the app to measure campaign results and to have real-time statistics.

They also suggested other ways to use the app and improve it such as:

allowing gym members to suggest other promotions after they have won a promotion

allowing gym members to upload workouts from their home computer and being able to access them from the gym through foursquare

to allow gym owners to post workout tips to all gym members when they check-in and check-out

venues have access to valuable information about their members’

It allows businesses to see results in real-time as well as yearly statistics

It also allows them to see results of advertising/promotion campaigns

Businesses will have access to the gym habits of their members

This will allow businesses to easily pick the winners of their monthly promotions by choosing from the logged profiles through Foursquare Fit
