Benefits of frequency-selective diagnostics:

• Each type of mechanical damage has its own uniquefrequency spectrum

• One glance at the frequency spectrum is sufficient todetermine the cause of damage to within a highdegree of accuracy

• The search for the actual cause of the damage isreduced to a minimum

• The amplitude is a measure for the extent of damage, which allows conclusions to be drawn about theremaining lifespan. The experience of the operatorplays a decisive role here

Check weighing in packaging processincreases efficiency

Benefits

ϖ Through its integration in SIMATIC S7-1200, the SIWAREX WP231 electronicweighing module provides uniform mountingtechnology and integrated communication.

ϖ Commissioning of the electronic weighingmodule using SIWATOOL or directly via aconnected HMI panel is quick and easy.

ϖ With a resolution of up to +/- four millionparts and a sampling rate of 10 ms/ second, the weighing module was the right choicefor the company’s high demands for speedand accuracy.

„The Siemens standard

components combined withour plant allows

us to offer customizedsolutions for the food

industry.“

Michel Remijn, owner RMA Techniek

Check weighing in packaging processincreases efficiency

1. Final check weighing did not take place.Irregularities in the packaging weight are adisadvantage for the company since thepackages often contain more vegetables thanthe amount required by the package size.

2. The plan was to install a check weigher at theend of the packaging process to eliminate thisuncertainty factor. The weight control shouldfocus not only on accuracy, but also work veryquickly throughout the packaging process.

3. Another demand was that it should be possibleto weigh different types and shapes ofpackages containing a variety of products.

Challenges

1. SIWAREX WP231 - the core element ofall weight measurements is the SiemensSIWAREX WP231 weighing electronicsconnected to a SIMATIC S7-1215Ccontroller.

2. SIWATOOLCommissioning of the electronic weighingmodule using SIWATOOL or directly via aconnected HMI panel is quick and easy

3. Siemens KP700 ComfortThe weighing process can be controlledand monitored, and parameters can beedited with the Siemens KP700 ComfortHMI panel.

Products/solutions

1. With a resolution of up to +/- four million partsand a sampling rate of 10 ms/ second, theweighing module was the right choice for thecompany’s high demands for speed andaccuracy.

2. For data analysis and improved traceability, allmeasurement results are collected in a centralmemory.

3. All system components were connected andconfigured directly through TIA Portal. Thisalso enables quick and easy adaptation andexpansion of the weighing application shouldit become necessary.
