COMMPASSIONTE CLOTHING CLOSET
Next weekend, the second collection will be for the Clothing Closet to help support the operation of this much needed ministry. We serve approximately 1,200 people each month with clothes and personal items. The CCC also works with our local nursing homes to supply clothes to residents, families who have experienced house fires, and with the Human Resources Center to provide professional clothing for those seeking employment. Brian Murphy, Kaye Hayes, Becky Kraemer and Pat Catanzariti are on the Board of Directors, and we are asking you to give generously to this collection. This ministry was originally started with funds from a Grant from the Diocese of Springfield and operated solely by volunteers from a variety of Christian churches in our community.
Thank you for your support.
The Eucharist is “the Source and Summit of the Christian life.” CCC 1324
Fr. Ronald will end the Eucharistic Adoration on Wednesdays with a holy hour from 2:00-3:00pm.
This holy hour will consist of prayers of Reparation, Consecration, a Litany, Rosary and Benediction.
These prayers will be offered for the spiritual and material success of our Parish.
This holy hour will be an ongoing weekly addition to enhance our devotion and worship of the holy Eucharist and all
are invited to pray by joining this great opportunity to develop a deeper life of devotion and unity with our Lord.
24 HOUR EUCHARISTIC ADORATION St. Mary’s Church
Every Tuesday starting at 3pm and ending on Wednesday at 3pm.
Everyone is invited to spend some quiet time with the Lord
anytime during these 24 hours.
“When God created each of us, He did so with precision and purpose, and He looks on each of us with love that cannot be
outdone in intensity or tenderness.”

We will meet Monday, March 27 at 7PM in the Gathering Space. The story this month is
“The 5 People You
Meet in Heaven”
by Mitch Albom.
Come Join Us & Learn April’s Title!
We need to periodically do a good examination of our conscience, and reflect on how well we have lived a “Christ-like life” by following the commandments and the teachings of the Church. Sometimes our failure is not in what we have done but in what we have not done. For all of these we bring our soul to the Lord and receive forgiveness.
The healing grace of the sacrament of reconciliation washes away sin and gives us the strength to avoid that sin again. The more we love the Lord, the more we are aware of the smallest sins, and the more we want to say,
“I am sorry. Please forgive me.” As we continue our Lenten journey, may we take full advantage of this beautiful sacrament which draws us closer to the Lord.
Time Slot for Adoration Open Beginning on Wednesday, April 26, there
will be an opening for adoration, starting
immediately after morning mass,
approximately 9:15am,
and ending at 10:00am
Please call or stop by the office if you
would like to take this time slot.
Compassionate Clothing Closet – Workers (Still) Needed in April! Thank you to those who have volunteered so far!
We still need some coverage on Mondays and Tuesdays!
April is St. Mary’s & St. Aloysius’ month to work the CCC. Workers are needed to help sort clothes on Mondays anytime during 11am-2pm. We need at least four volunteers to help clients check out clothing on Tuesdays from 1-3pm. Please call the office at 466-3355 if you can help.
We are collecting rolls of toilet paper and bars of soap for the clients. There is a basket in the gathering space for these items at St. Mary’s.

Fourth Sunday of Lent
So dark! On a starless, cloud-filled night, it is almost impossible to move
in safety. All that changes when dawn approaches, when light breaks the
horizon. That is why the dripping wet newly baptized (when real thirst is
slaked) receive light from the paschal candle.
Christ gives us light. Christ is light!
•What are the times I prefer to “be in the dark”?
•What blinds me from seeing goodness and truth?
•What mercy work can I do to give light (and heat) to those in
need? [Rounding up a utility bill is one way.]
St. Mary’s Food Pantry is being awarded a $750.00 grant from CRS Rice Bowl!
CRS Rice Bowl is a collection taken each year during the Lenten season at Catholic parishes throughout the Diocese of Springfield in IL. Twenty-five percent of that collection is used to support local hunger-relief programs. The other 75% is distributed through Catholic Relief Services to hunger alleviation programs around the world. Please consider putting $5 or $10 in your Rice Bowl box each of the six weeks of Lent to help those who struggle for the bare necessities of life throughout our county and around the world. Most of us have saved this much on the items we chose to give up for Lent so why not share this money with those who really need it.

The Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy Ask. Seek. Knock.
Do you know someone who is just so relentless? He tirelessly makes his point! She keeps at it and does not back down. They ask … and ask again … and yet again! Abraham, the merciful one, is just like that – reread of his persistence in Genesis 18:20-32. The friend is just like that, too, in Luke 11:1-13. And Jesus tells all who hear, and that is us today as well, be just like that in addressing God. Ask. Seek. Knock. Few words, fewer actions, great persistence.
How will my prayer be persistent this week? For whom and for what will I pray? How can I respond like God and open my door (and my heart), give food to the
hungry, bargain for the innocent?
