THE CHALLENGE

• World record breaking attempt to become the fastest mixed four to row the Atlantic east to west

• 3,000 miles unsupported from La Gomera to Antigua in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge - the world’s toughest rowing race

• Each crew member will row two hours on, two hours off for 40-60 days

• We will face sleep deprivation, blisters, saltwater sores, seasickness, 40ft waves, 40˙C heat and hurricane strength winds

• More people have climbed Everest (c.4,000)

• It will be as much a mental as a physical challenge

OUR CHARITIES

Our mission: To help people talk more openly about their mental health while raising funds for Combat Stress and Mind

Heads Together is a campaign spearheaded by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

and Prince Harry to end stigma surrounding mental health and change the

conversation on mental health and well-being.

Combat Stress is the UK’s leading mental health charity for veterans, providing free

specialist clinical treatment and welfare support to ex-servicemen and women across

the UK with mental health conditions.

Mind is the leading mental health charity for England and Wales. They provide advice

and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign

to improve services and awareness.

The Marine Conservation Society is the UK’s leading charity for the protection of our seas, shores and

wildlife. MCS champions protection for marine wildlife, sustainable fisheries and clean seas and beaches.

We are very aware of the environment that will be our ‘home’ for 2-3 months and are also raising funds for;

Operational costs of £68,000 are required to get to the start line. We have flexible partnership packages which are equivalent to the different costs we need to meet, for example:

• Gold Partner £10,000 Safety and navigation equipment

• Silver Partner £5,000 Boat logistics and transportation

• Bronze Partner £3,000 Crew training - safety, navigation and technical

• Club 1000 £1,000 Solar panels

• Sponsor a Day £250 Daily expedition costs

• Club 100 £100 Feed the crew for a day (8,500kcal of specialist rations each)
