Director’s MessageIn 2005, in response to our first inaugural Employee Giving Campaign, seven percent of Orange Coast Memorial employees made either an outright gift or payroll deduction pledge for the year, raising over $20,000.

Last year, 40 percent of our employees participated in our campaign, contributing over $135,000. This year, we reached 44 percent! This is a testament to not only the generosity of our staff, but also to their commitment to our mission of providing our patients with the best possible care.

Many of our employees have been longtime donors. In this issue, we are pleased to recognize the milestone anniversaries of 87 employees whose multi-year support of Orange Coast Memorial has now reached the 5, 10 and 15-year marks.

Our grateful thanks go out to this year’s honorees.

With deep appreciation,

Paul Stimson Director, Orange Coast Memorial Foundation

I give because I am grateful to have the opportunity to support the Orange Coast Memorial Foundation as a way to give back and contribute to our mission of helping and supporting our patients and families. My contribution allows me to go beyond providing for our patients and families as a Registered Nurse by strengthening our provision of programs and services available to meet the needs of our patients, families, neighbors and co-workers.”

Dale Vital : The Heart of Giving“I have selflessly given to the Orange Coast Foundation because it simply warms my heart and brings me joy. My husband and I have instilled this philosophy while raising our daughters placing an emphasis that it is better to give than to receive. I have found that it is a practice that works in all settings, not just family. The act of giving to Orange Coast has been effortless, and is something that has not required

public acknowledgement. Every day I witness the many ways

that generous gifts have saved lives, enhanced lives and changed lives for the better. In fact, my willingness to share this message is rooted in my need to inspire others to carry on this important legacy as I retire from this wonderful organization after 28 years of service.”

“The act of giving is essential at any level. You can start small and exponentially grow at a rate that aligns with your heart’s level of engagement and commitment. As I look at ending my OCMMC journey, I anticipate a horizon of hearing about the substantial growth from a dynamic and dedicated team of staff, leadership, volunteers, physicians and community donors who embrace and have mastered the heart of giving. “

The Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach was the site of the Foundation’s second annual Lotus Spring Ball which was held on Saturday, May 14th. More than 270 guests enjoyed an evening of fine dining, dancing, musical performances, a live auction and a fashion show.

The event, which celebrates the diverse culture of our community, raised gross proceeds of over $91,000 in support of the hospital’s new Emergency Pavilion.

Special thanks to our Presenting Sponsors, 24/7 Care at Home, Images Luxury Nail Lounge, Saigon City Marketplace, The Waterfront Beach Resort and West Lake Food Corporation, as well as our committee co-chairs, and co-hosts for the evening, Jenny Quach and Tam Nguyen, M.D., and committee members Tracy Pham, Thomas Quach, M.D., David Truong, Diane Truong and Tanya Vu.
