1. From Physical Classroom to Online Classroom
In physical or online classroom, three important elements are present.
Teacher,
Learner, and
Content.
Various interactions between various elements are as follows:
Teacher - Content interaction.
Teacher-Learner Interaction
Learner-Learner Interaction
Learner-Content Interaction
Reflection Point
Question1:- Can you list one example of the interactions that happened between these
Three (Teacher,Content,Learner) in a normal classroom?
Ans:- Teacher – content interaction :– Teacher delivers his lecture by using PPT, Notes,
Books, Reference papers etc.
Teacher- learner interaction: – Asking questions to students on taught subject and
Answer the question asked by teacher.
Learner -content interaction: –Use of PPTs Notes provided by teacher while solving
problem.
Learner- Learner interaction: - some task is given by teacher to solve in group. During
solving given task learners interact among them
3. Pedagogic Adaptations: LeD, LbD, LxT and LxI:
Question 1:- What advantage do you see in answering practice questions immediately after
LeD videos?
Ans:- It helps to recall the topic and to understand the topic thoroughly by solving the
questions. It required concentration towards the video which helpful in learning
additional resources like research papers, videos and links to web pages are given for
better understanding of the concept.
Question 2:- What is the purpose of the assimilation quizzes?
Ans:-: It will help to test learner that how knowledge he or she gained. It also helps the
learner to improve thinking power
Question 3- Can you think of advantage of structured discussion?
Ans:- It will make all learners to do brainstorming on the content and get opportunity to
share their experience and others can get the opportunity to learn from their experience.
Question 4: - What additional features does the video provide you apart from the regular
information transmission of the content?
Ans:- Various controls in the video such as forward, backward, pause etc
4. Information Communication Technology(ICT):
It is combination of information technology and communication technology. It is the
process of storing huge amount of data, and then accesses it, manipulate and transmit it
using wired and wireless communication network. Hardware used for ICT is smartphone or
desktop/laptop/server and communication technology that is internet.
Software used for ICT application is browser, mobile App, business logic and routing
software.
5. Maintaining a Course Journal:
Two steps are required.
1) Process
2) Record
Course journal includes
1. Content description
2. Reflection of the content
6. Massive Open Online Course (MOOC)
Mr. Anant Agarwal , the CEO of edX told us the importance of Massive Open Online Course
(MOOC). It provide short video lecture, quiz, discussion forum, sequences activity ,
certification.
Learning technology idea:
Active learning.
Instant feedback turns teaching moment into learning outcome.
Gasification
pure learning
Reimaging
Advantages:
productivity increase
Knowledge is shared with everyone
Disadvantages:
No human touch
Absences of practical laboratory components
Disciplined responses.

I. What is the Internet?
It’s a Networking system. Many systems are connected by communication networks world
wide. Vent Cerf explained about the invention of internet in the year 1970’s.When vent and
Bob Khan worked under the defense project (ARPANET) they found this concept. Along
with Paul Baran who is a renowned person in networks, they extended this concept of internet
a nationwide.
Reflection spot
Do you know what is internet?
network to connect many devices
share information or transfer from one device to other
Do you know how it works?
By routers
LbD1, 2 & 3
II. The internet- wires, cables and wifi
A physical system that connects send to receiver- to transfer information- so called binary
codes-BITS, BITRATE, MB,KB. Sources – electricity, light and waves. First electricity used
– faster movement then light expensive. Finally with radio waves – advantages- less signal
loss
Reflection spot
Do you know how information travels from your computer to other networks?
-Sender to receiver-Binary information system
LbD1
III. Internet protocols –http and html
Think of what happens when you write and send an email to your friend. What do you think
are the activities/processes taking place from the time you send it to the time you receive a
response?
- Internet protocol http- send and receive the message
Computers across the world connect each other – URL
David (founder – tumblr.com) – protocols (URL, HTTP, HTML and HTTPS)
URL – Uniform Resource Locator
HTTP- Hyper Text Transfer Protocol
HTML – Hyper Text Markup Language
HTTPS – Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure
LbD1
IV. Tools for website creation
Websites- two types – simple and multifunctional – free and opensource
Simple- word press – few pages, blog
Multifunctional- Drupal - pages with contents, conference websites
V. Basic Customization in word press
1. Login to site
2. Left top-my site- (name) wordpress.com
3. Click my site – menu, widgets
4. Customize (right end or WP admin)
5. WP admin- so many control panels- so many action icons – edit – customize –
SAVE AND PUBLISH
(COLORS, THEMES, HOME, ABOUT ME ,CONATCT- OTHER WIDGETS
CHOOSE FORM CONTROL PANEL)
Lbd1 and 2
VI. Managing content in word press
How to Manage VARIOUS CONTENTS (Blogs, Media, Pages)
-CONTROL PANEL
-steps
My site – WP admin – dash board - control panel
-Media, post, contacts, etc
-Sticky post in blog post
-Sticky post always appear on the top – publish
-Sticky post – post site- quick edit - remove sticky by uncheck - publish
-Post appear with time – no of posts – date with time
LED1
VII. Adding basic content in Word Press
- Blogs and pages
- Blogs – write something like essays or quotes, poems, etc

Review 1. Learning Experience Interaction
Visual Presentation: The Visual Presentation section tells to
make a power point presentation using Title slide, Course
Objectives, Course Outline and Assessment strategy.
2. Spoken Tutorial: Creating a Video Open Education Resource
i) Creative Commons Licensing: When sharing our resources to
other people through the Internet or when we use readymade
contents from the Internet, we always have to think of licenses. That is, the owner of the content and the way we can use such contents. Creative Commons (CC) is one way that offers public
license that allows you to set the way you want other people to use your content (open educational resources) and how the already
available contents can be used by others.
ii) Spoken Tutorial Project: This section explains how Spoken
Tutorial Project at IIT Bombay utilizes the video creation process. It
is a project that consists of open educational resources available under the Creative Commons.
iii) Creating Spoken Tutorials: This section explains how one can
prepare spoken tutorial videos using many software tools. Like for
Linux systems- Kazam is used. Some others may be- - Record my desktop software
-Moviemaker for windows
3. Other Screen cast Softwares
OTHER SOFTWARE TOOLS There are many software packages that you can use to create your own open Educational resources.
The software marked with GPL (GNU General Public License) in this list come
under the Copyleft, allowing users to freely distribute and modify the
original program. The following non-GPL softwares are also popularly used. 1. Screen cast-o-matic
2. Tech smith Jing (for Windows and OSX) 3. Tech smith Camstatia (for Windows)
4. Quick time (for OSX)
4. Learning Extension Resources Resource Creation in various local languages:
After we have created the screen cast, publish this in YouTube by keeping the
video in Creative Commons. Multimedia Principles: Whenever you want to develop any teaching learning
content such as a PowerPoint presentation, a video resource, an
animation, a learning site such as the one you have created with wordpress or you are developing an online course, you will need to consider how you will get your students engaged while using the materials
without distracting them. Multimedia principles help learners to learn better when they are using different learning materials of your course.
5. Resource Creation and Peer Review: This is the very important
part of the third week FDP as this includes the Screen-O-matic software for recording audio. This is very easy tool to record, save, publish audio using
“how to make a website using Wordpress”.
