You will then cut out and arrange these words and phrases on a colored piece of paper for your poem. You must choose only one topic and stick to that one topic in your poem. The “Found Poem” must be 10 lines long and each line must contain at least 4 words and all must pertain to just one topic. This poem must be handed in on another piece of paper, and the color of the paper should relate to the mood/tone of your poem, for example if you write about sunshine and happy thoughts a black piece of paper will not bring the right mood to your poem. You will be marked on your spelling, presentation of your poem, if you stayed to one topic in your poem, and on the flow and organization of your poem. For a bonus mark, you must be able to identify at least one figurative language piece in your poem and have a valid reason how it works and why it is effective in your poem.
