The main objective of Rotary is service- in the community, in the workplace and throughout the world. Rotarians build goodwill and peace, provide humanitarian service and encourage high ethical standards in all vocations. The Rotary motto is Service Above Self.

The object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster: First: The development of acquaintances as an opportunity for

Service; Second: High ethical standards in business and professions; the

recognition of worthiness of most occupations; and the dignifying by each Rotarians occupation - as an opportunity to serve society;

Third: The application of service - by every Rotarian - to each

persons personal, business and community life: Fourth: The advancement of international understanding, goodwill,

and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons enlisted in the ideal of service.

Attendance and Make-ups

Club members are expected to achieve and maintain 60% attendance at the weekly luncheon. Reciprocity make-up attendance can be made at any of the other three local clubs without paying extra. These clubs pay each other for those meals.

Attendance at other local Rotary clubs as well as nationally and internationally, is encouraged and also counts toward make-ups. You should pay that club for the meal.

Dues Dues are $800 annually, due and payable upon receipt of quarterly statements. Dues invoices are mailed at the beginning of each quarter. Paper invoices can be requested. Member dues cover all weekly club meals, operating expenses of the club, District and International dues and $25 per quarter for our local philanthropic activities. Although the $25 fee is broken out as a charitable, tax deductible contribution - on our quarterly statement - it is a mandatory fee that club members in previous years chose as an alternative to holding fund raising events throughout the year. Club members may be called upon to support additional funding for Board approved projects and international endeavors, e.g. Polio Plus, Jefferson High School, etc.

Guest Fees Guest fees are charged to the individual host member at $13 per guest meal. If the guest is a prospective member, the club will pay for the prospective members meal.

Foundation Support There is club expectation that every member will contribute at least $100 per year toward The Rotary Foundation. The International, District and Club leadership support the Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) concept. These contributions are used to further Rotary principles and objectives throughout the world. When an individuals contributions reach or exceed $1000 they are recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow. Such recognition is an honor to receive and lets others know of the commitment to Rotary.

Early Riser Contributions

Early Riser envelopes are placed on every table for club meetings. A $1.00 contribution is expected if a Rotarian is unable to stay for the entire meeting. It is also recommended that anyone leaving early offer an apology to the speaker prior to the opening of the meeting. Contributions to this fund supplement our community service funding.

Baby Fund

Greeley Rotary has a long standing tradition when the stork arrives. A Rotarian parent donates $1.00 for each pound of the babys weight. A Rotarian grandparent contributes $2.00 per pound. The presentation of this donation offers the donor bragging rights to inform the club of the babys name, birth date and weight, as well as the parents or grandparents depending on the relationship to the new baby. Contributions to this fund supplement our community service funding.

Speakers Gift Greeley Rotary Club President asks each weeks speaker to identify a club project to which a donation will be made. The club makes a contribution in the program speakers name in honor of their contribution to our meeting. The designated charities for 2013-14 are: End Polio Now, Jefferson High School and the Water Well Project in Malawi, Africa.

Attendance This committee develops an ongoing system to monitor club attendance. It implements programs to strengthen attendance in order to maintain the club goal of 60% attendance. Meets intermittently when needed. Time commitment approximately 1 hour per month.
