National Authority of Post and Telecommunication (NAPT) has been created under the Decree of Prime Minister of Laohas been created under the Decree of Prime Minister of Lao PDR No.375/PM of 22nd October 2007 (former Department of Post and telecommunication)

III. The ICT Policy approach of Lao PDR

It is the intension to increase ICT services penetration to levels that are available among regional neighbors and

The policy and legislative framework has been developed in the context of Lao PDR,s political, economic and social objectives Our intention to joint theeconomic and social objectives. Our intention to joint the WTO has also been recognized

Current Structure of our local ICT sector

Our local ICT sector is now under developing, although i ff l bcoming off a low base .

Our ICT is improving but faces a number of structural limitations incl ding a lack oflimitations including a lack of:

ICT in Lao PDR is still in the beginning (new) and a lot ofg g ( )works/efforts are needed for the successful of thedevelopment .
