The 2.5 D-4D engine delivers 106 kW at 3400 r/min and 343 Nm at 1600-2800 r/min and also features Variable Nozzle Turbo technology that delivers excellent engine performance. It’s also available in a 4-speed automatic transmission. The 3.0 litre engine pushes out 120 kW of power at 3400 r/min and 343 Nm at 1400-3200 r/min. The top-of-the-range 4.0 litre engine has an incredible 175 kW of brute strength at 5200 r/min and 376 Nm of torqueat 3800 r/min.

All 4x4 models have a centre Torsen LSD (torque-sensing Limited Slip Differential) that automatically distributes torque between the front and back wheels to maximise traction according to the driving and road conditions. Ready for anything, the 4x4 models also have full-time four-wheel-drive capability that delivers exceptional driving performance on all road surfaces and conditions. 4x4 models are available in two different types of engines: a 3.0 litre diesel or a 4.0 litre petrol. However, no matter which engine you choose, the performance will not disappoint. The Fortuner range offers a choice of three transmission types between the models in the range: a 5-speed manual, 5-speed automatic or a 4-speed automatic.

The Fortuner has the power and capability to conquer both the demands of city driving and the most demanding off-road conditions. 4.0 litre automatic models feature AI (Artificial Intelligence) – SHIFT Control that enables comfortable driving by automatically switching the shifting pattern according to any road condition and driver intent.

These models also feature Road Condition Support Control, which facilitates driving comfort by supporting optimal gear shifts in accordance with road conditions; and Driver Intention Support Control, which changes gears based on estimation of driver intent by judging accelerator operation and vehicle conditions.

Wrapped in a new, stylish, all-black interior, your Fortuner is a perfect blend of sophistication and consideration. With features such as cruise control* and rear overhead vents for air conditioning, you’ll have everything you need to make the trip ahead enjoyable and comfortable. The Multi-Information Display (MID) puts all the information you need to command the road in front of you, such as temperature, fuel consumption and average speed.

The Fortuner comes standard with three rows of combination leather seats that can comfortably seat up to seven adults. The driver’s seat is electrically adjustable* in six different ways. The second row of seats has a slide function to allow more legroom for third row passengers and can be split 60:40 for easy third row entry and exit. The seats in the third row can be split 50:50 and can be moved to the side so you’ll have more than enough space for family, friends and all the cargo that goes with them.

The Fortuner also comes standard with exceptional features that enhance its good looks and makes your journey that much more pleasant: aluminium-brushed ornamentation on the centre cluster of the 2.5 D-4D Raised Body and wood finishes on the centre cluster of all the other models. A steering wheel which features controls for the audio, Multi-Information Display (MID) and Bluetooth, a wood grain gear shift lever on all automatic models, electrically adjustable windows with one-touch auto up/down function and jam protection, smart interior storage spaces, a rear parking assist monitor*, a DVD player*, a 6.1" display audio system* with CD, RDS and Bluetooth functionality, USB and iPod inputs and up to 6 speakers. *Not available on the 2.5 D-4D Raised Body Models. SAFEIN KNOWING

Every model in the range comes standard with driver and front passenger airbags. The 3.0 D-4D and 4.0 V6 models also have additional side airbags for the driver and front passenger, and curtain shield airbags that run along both sides of the vehicle to protect passengers in the second row as well. There are seat belts for all passengers and the front row seat belts have pre-tensioners, keeping occupants safe and sound all the way.

All models have an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), a Brake Assist System (BAS) for added braking power if you have to stop suddenly at high speed, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) that maximises stability by automatically adjusting engine output and the braking force of each wheel to prevent oversteering and understeering on corners and Traction Control (TRC)*. To keep your Fortuner and valuables safe and sound when you’re not on the road, all models also have remote central locking and an immobiliser with alarm.

In line with the Toyota Environmental Action Plan, the ECO-Project, the Fortuner has been designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Its high performance engine has also been designed to be fuel efficient, and that in turn, reduces carbon footprint. The Fortuner also makes use of recycled materials in production and materials that are easily recyclable at disposal, whenever possible. For example, all the plastics used in the instrument panel and door trim are mostly made from easily recyclable polymers. Even the air conditioning system is ‘green’ with a sub-cool condenser that provides high cooling efficiency.

The 2.5 D-4D and 4.0 V6 VVT-i engines comply with Euro-3 emissions standards.
