Whenever Forsaken Eternity strikes a target and inflicts at least one health level of

damage, itdrains a number of motes of Essence equal to thewielderspermanent

Essence (though it cannot drain more motes on an attack than the total levels of

damage dealt in Step 10, and not the wielder nor Forsaken Eternity actually

    absorbs those motes).

Forsaken Eternity has three Hearthstone pockets, two in the extremities of the

shaft and one in the blade. The pockets are actually cloth strips made of molten

Soulsteel (it has no heat), the strips keep the Hearthstone in place by moving ontheir own when they sense one nearby and wrapping around it.

Unless Forsaken Eternity is stolen, its current attunement will never fade. In the

case Forsaken Eternity is stolen, the attunement wears off after one day without

making skin contact with the weapon. Furthermore, attuning to the item can be

done without the usual time necessary handling the item, its possible to attune to it

at the moment skin makes contact with it. But, giving that this weapon was at first

an attempt to make peace with the Solar exalted, Forsaken Eternity can only be

attuned by the Eclipse caste, the Solar diplomats. On the downside, anyone

attuned to Forsaken Eternity has the Nightmares flaw at level one, as they hear thescreams of every single soul both slain by and used to make it (if attunement is

somehow suspended, the flaw also vanishes).

Forsaken Eternity is a scythe made of Soulsteel. The properties of the Material

used to make this weapon in particular were altered to fit best the Solars, therefore,

attunement to it can be done without spending extra motes of Essence or making a

Wits+Lore roll (the bonuses are already factored in).

If the wielder of Forsaken Identity would make an attack roll to hit with it, he can

pay three motes of Essence to enhance the attack. If he does, he takes anadditional external penalty on the attack equal to the targets Essence rating. If the

attack inflicts two or more levels of damage, though, the Exalt may reflexively pay

an additional Willpower point to focus the nature of the weapon. Doing so inflicts

one amputation disability on the victim. Unless the Solar has a higher Essence

rating than the victim, the worst he can do is crush joints, break bones and sever

nerves or tendonsenough to impose all the penalties of amputation without

literally lopping off limbs. Exalted victims with higher Essence can heal the

Crippling effect by spending a full day resting (during which they cannot heal any

other wounds). Eclipse with higher Essence ratings than their victims may carve

with impunity, fully amputating the limb.
