• Allow information to be censored
– For example, a hotel reservation form posted on the web may allow users to select a type of room and the arrival and departure dates, but prevent or hide users from viewing the details of the hotel rates.

Common Elements of FormsCommon Elements of Forms • Graphics – lines, shapes, images• Data – content from records in the database• Calculations – forms can contain formulas that perform
calculations, similar to those written for spreadsheets – Ex.: Calculations such as totaling the price of a purchase order by
multiplying the quantity ordered by the price of a product
• Controls – define how data can be entered, viewed, or used in calculations
• Descriptive text – help text and hints for users• Subforms – forms embedded in and connected to a main form
through a common field.– Ex.: A grocery store form contains the customer name & contact info. on
the main form which is linked by the customer's ID no. to a subform. The subform contains the customers purchase orders
