The purpose of a formal experiment report is to communicate clearly in written formthe purpose, procedure, results, and conclusion of an experiment performed in class. Inwriting the report it is important to be clear and concise. Formal experiment reportsFormal experiment reportsFormal experiment reportsFormal experiment reports must bemust bemust bemust betyped and follow the outline given below in the order specified.typed and follow the outline given below in the order specified.typed and follow the outline given below in the order specified.typed and follow the outline given below in the order specified.

The Experiments does not have to be typed to be accepted,

Take care of following line for writing the experiments.

    I. TitleI. TitleI. TitleI. TitleIdentifies the experiment and includes the experiment number.

II. PurposeII. PurposeII. PurposeII. Purpose ((((AimAimAimAim))))States what information, experience, or concept is to be learned from the experiment.

(Do not write this as a question).

Theory:Usually the Introduction is one paragraph that explains the objectives or purpose

of the lab. In one sentence, state the hypothesis. Sometimes an introduction may containbackground information, briefly summarize how the experiment was performed, state the findings of the experiment, and list the conclusions of the investigation. Even if you don'twrite a whole introduction, you need to state the purpose of the experiment, or why you didit. This would be where you state your hypothesis.

Circuit Diag:While drawing the circuit diagram note down the following things

1). Draw the neat sketch by using scale & pencil.2). Mention the values of all the components used in the circuit diagram.3). Draw the figure at its appropriate place in the experiment & Mention the name offigure.

    Figures & GraphsFigures & GraphsFigures & GraphsFigures & Graphs::::

Graphs and figures must both be labeled with a descriptive title. Label the axes ona graph, being sure to include units of measurement. The independent variable is on the X-axis. The dependent variable (the one you are measuring) is on the Y-axis. Be sure to referto figures and graphs in the text of your report. The first figure is Figure 1, the second figureis Figure 2, etc.

III. PreIII. PreIII. PreIII. Pre----Lab Questions or ProblemsLab Questions or ProblemsLab Questions or ProblemsLab Questions or Problems ((((if requiredif requiredif requiredif required))))Give a preview of the concepts or mathematical computations that will be needed in

completing the experiment. Show all work for solutions to problems.

IV.IV.IV.IV. ProcedureProcedureProcedureProcedureList the materials to be used. Make a sketch of the experiment set up.Make a sketch of the experiment set up.Make a sketch of the experiment set up.Make a sketch of the experiment set up. List the steps

that should be followed to accomplish the purpose. This should be complete enough so that areader would understand the steps followed. You should write a summary. Do not copy theprovided procedure. Demonstrate that you know what to do during the experiment.

    V. Observations:In this section you need to write values of all components used in the circuit. In

maximum experiments we are using those values for calculation purpose.

    VI. Observation Table:

Be clear about our aim of the experiment. Now for accomplishing our aim, check thethings which we need to find out. Mention the same things in the observation table. (Onceyou have prepared the observation table, check it from the lab instructor).

VII. Result:These are your calculated values and answers to any questions in the procedure.

    Include percent error when appropriate.

    VIII. Conclusion:

Make sure that conclusion & result should not be same. Conclusion means whateverthe things that you can observe while performing or after completion of the experiment.
