The IAA card is an international “free key pass” to many museums and art institutions.Lets you enjoy the art of the world as you travel, any time.

We want to thank and congratulate Slovakian National Committee for preparing thisvery useful guide with an intensive effort led through all our NCs around the world. As usual, aswe are accustomed to experience with them, Pavol Kral and Andrea Kozarova have done aperfectly meticulous work. Since 1948, it has been a pleasure for the IAA, to help the establishingof all networks that help in anyway the atmosphere of universal friendship and peace that shouldbe spread to the world through the power of art. May it be through the World Art Day (April 15,birthday of Leonardo da Vinci) which we had established in 2011, may it be through ourinternational symposiums, on our festivals, it is our constant aim to promote all the links andinformation that would facilitate the access to art resulting in new dialogues, art events andfriendships…

WHAT IS IAA CARD ?IAA card - (International Identity Card for Professional Artists)

The IAA card is recognized and accepted by museums and art institutions around the worldand is an important tool for the artists in their professional artistic research. Theseinstitutions, large or small, recognize the benefit they gain from enabling the artists (in thesame way as art critics and art journalists) to visit exhibitions, art events and collections ofart, to carry on research and to gain inspiration

The IAA card (International Identity Card for Professional Artists) grants to itsholder free admission or price reduction to/in many museums, galleries and culturalinstitutions around the world. It is seen as a tool for the lifelong education of artists.

Professional visual artists are eligible to apply for the IAA card.

The IAA card has an unified design: a front side with regional character, workingas national card, and a back in blue color with an uniform design in all countries. The officeof IAA Europe provides a graphic template, which is available upon request for the NationalCommittees and has to be updated according to regional differences. The card has a walletsize and is made of plastic.

WHERE CAN I USE MY IAA CARD?...is the most frequently asked question ☺That is why SUVA started to collect information and create international

database of institutions accepting the card. First issue was published in 2012, this PDFbrings extended updated list.

In addition, the information in this guide is based on experiences by artists andinformation from NCs and provides an idea of its benefits.

Please note that there is no official confirmation by the named institutions!

•‘I saved almost 100 euro during my trip to Paris. The IAA card allowed me free entry inLouvre, Rodin Museum, Musée de L‘Orangerie, Musée d’Orsay, Muséum national d’historenaturelle, Versailles. It also avoided hours of waiting in queues at the main entrances.’

•‘We were in Stuttgart and got 30% discount on tickets in the state gallery.’

•‘In the castle of Carcassonne the IAA card was accepted automatically.’

•‘Whilst visiting the city of Zadar (antique basilica with an exhibition of contemporarysculptures) I tried to use the IAA card. They did not know about it, but accepted it after myexplanation.’

•‘I visited the city of Český Krumlov listed as UNESCO world heritage, but nobody knew theIAA card in Egon Schiele Art Center.’

For the Museum Van Gogh: Go directly to the main entrance of the museum, stand in the queue (most often), then show your card to the ticket controller. Say that it is of the International Artists Association. The ticket controller will communicate through their system with their office and then will let you go inside without a ticket. The more often they have someone with an IAA card at their door the faster they will learn what the card is and they won’t have to ask any more. The two museums are next to each other. So please go ahead!

The IAA card is accepted in several places where there is a fee.For instance Moderna museet - the museum of modern art in Stockholm is generally free but ask for entry fee for special exhibition.
