The performance, an intense dramatization of the bib- lical Easter story (often called a “passion play”), will run the weekends of March 31 through April 2 and April 7 through 9, and then no longer. “It’s in its prime, and I don’t want this minis- try to go past its prime,” Robert Headley, Ma- ranatha pastor, said. The performances got their start 14 years ago, shortly after Headley arrived at the church. He’d dabbled in drama while working in youth ministry in East Bethel, and the year Ma- ranatha put on a show, it was called “Witness Martyrs.” That year, 37 people from the church got together to put on a series of vignettes about different Christians who had been killed because of their faith. The next year, the church transi- tioned to “Witness Mes- siah,” which has grown every year since into a bigger, more affecting production, drawing community members and people from all around the metro to the church. “This year, we have almost 200 people in the cast and crew,” Headley said. Eyes on the pies Sexual conduct, theft tools among other recent court cases Ryan Howard News Editor The owner of Flaw- less Massage in Forest Lake has been charged with two counts of prostitution in a public place after being arrest- ed last week following an investigation and an undercover operation conducted by the Forest Lake Police Department and Washington County Drug Task Force. According to police reports and court re- cords, Wei Lu, 53, of St. Paul, allegedly offered sexual acts on March 20 to an undercover law en- forcement of during a session at the massage parlor, located at 808 Broadway Ave. W. The Forest Lake City Council approved the revocation of the par- lor’s massage license at its March 27 meeting. The other massage ther- apist at the location has not been charged with a crime but would need to employment else- where before she could continue practicing. According to court records, calls about potential prostitution activity at the business date back to April 2015 (internet searches for the parlor under its cur- rent name and former name, Pampering Palms Massage, yield results for websites that sug- gest the parlor may have a sexual component).
