Introduction This bulletin serves as an update on implementation of the decision of the National Forensic Pathology Services Bargaining Forum Meeting on the following issues; § Danger allowance § Review of the PHSDSBC Resolution 2 of 2010: Occupational Specific dispensation for Therapeutic, Diagnostic and related allied health professionals regarding the forensic pathology officer Danger allowance The matter of danger allowance was submitted to bargaining council (Public Health and Social Development Sectoral Bargaining Council-PHSDSBC), to conclude the collective agreement on re-instatement of the danger allowance for forensic pathology officers. The special bargaining council meeting was convened on the 11 May 2017, to deal with various issues including the danger allowance for forensic pathology officer. The union managed to table a draft agreement to facilitate speedy engagement on the matter. The draft agreement is outlined as follows; 1) To re-introduce the special and standard danger allowance for qualifying employees and will be implemented with effect from 1st April 2017. 2) A once-off amount for the period of 1st April 2006 to 31st March 2017 shall be paid to qualifying employees. The special council is scheduled for the 26 May 2017, for employer to respond to union's proposal as per draft agreement. Review of the PHSDSBC Resolution 2 of 2010: Occupational Specific dispensation (OSD) for Therapeutic, Diagnostic and related allied health professionals regarding the forensic pathology office The union submitted the matter for negotiation to the bargaining council and special council meeting was convened on the 15 May 2017. After long deliberation in the meeting, then the council agreed that employer will submit the preliminary report to council on the 26 May 2017 and comprehensive situational analysis report on the 15 June 2017. The situational analysis report will entails the situation regarding the conditions of employment and challenges before the 2006 transfer as per MOU and pre-OSD regime and also post OSD regime. Conclusion The union will continuously update members on the development in the bargaining council. End. Danger allowance

The matter of danger allowance was submitted to bargaining council (Public Health and Social Development

convened on the 15 May 2017. After long deliberation in the meeting, then the council agreed that employer

will submit the preliminary report to council on the 26 May 2017 and comprehensive situational analysis report

on the 15 June 2017.

The situational analysis report will entails the situation regarding the conditions of employment and challenges

before the 2006 transfer as per MOU and pre-OSD regime and also post OSD regime.

Conclusion

The union will continuously update members on the development in the bargaining council.
