a number of majors. Those planning further foreign language study should follow BSC’s suggested Liberal Arts curriculum.

Knowing a foreign language is necessary for those marketing themselves in today’s global economy. Studying a foreign language can improve cognitive and critical thinking abilities and provide an advantage for job seekers. BSC’s Spanish program spans four semesters and employs traditional teaching methods and technology to develop foreign language skills and foster student confidence. Course placement is based on two guidelines: 1) previous Spanish study, and 2) college-level placement test. Students completing the curriculum requirements earn an Associate in Arts degree.

The study of a foreign language, in combination with another major, provides opportunities in government agencies, the Foreign Service, international business, import-export trade, banking and tourism.
