The touch screen uses smart corners to situate functions into four categories — Phone, Entertainment, navigation (if equipped) and Climate. any of these four categories can be made active, occupying the main screen, by touching the function’s respective corner.

Tips for Using Voice ControlTIPS
1. Upon pressing on the steering wheel, make sure to wait for the SYNC® “tone” before speaking a command.
2. Speak commands in a smooth, confidentandnormalpace,directing your voice at the SYNC microphone located in the headliner. Avoid “ahhs” or “umms” when speaking a command.
3. Say all the words of a com-mand in the correct order (e.g., “Call John Doe,” “Find an address”).
4.Say“WhatcanIsay?”ifyouneed an audible list of voice commands for the current mode (e.g., Phone, Radio, Navigation, USB).
5.Ensurethevehicleinterior is quiet (windows closed, passengers aren’t talking).

Phone
Pairing and ConnectingInordertouseanyofthephonefeatures—likemakingacallorreceivingatext— youmustfirstpairandconnectyourBluetooth®-enabled mobile phone. Here’s how:
• Touch“Addaphone”intheupper-leftcornerofthetouchscreen to access the phone menu
•Whenprompted,select“Add”• Select“AddDevice”• EnsurethatBluetoothissetto“On”onyourmobilephone.
(Refer to your mobile phone’s user guide for more information.)•Whenpromptedbyyourphone,enterthe6-digitpasskeyprovided
by SYNC on the screen. Depending on your phone’s capability, you may be prompted with additional options
• “Name of phone Added Successfully” will appear in the display when the pairing is successful
• Thesystemwillaskyouifyouwanttodownloadyourphonebook. Select “Yes” in order to use voice to access contacts
• Thesystemwillalsoaskifyouwanttostoreyourphonenumber as your voice mail number, or change or cancel
• Thesystemwillasktoturnon911AssistTM. Select “Yes” to activate the emergency call service
note: Pairing a phone is not available when the vehicle is moving.

Making a CallOnce your phone is paired, you can make hands-free calls using SYNC®:
• Press on the steering wheel•Whenprompted,say“Call<name>”orsay“Dial”and
then the desired number
Note:Whenvoice-requestingacontact,speakthenameexactlyasitappears in your phonebook. For instance, “John Smith” not just “John.”
To end the call or exit phone mode, press and hold on your steering wheel controls.
Receiving a CallAn incoming call interacts with SYNC in much the same way it interacts with your Bluetooth®-enabled mobile phone:
• Duringanincomingcall,anaudibletonewillsound. If available, call information will appear in the display
• Accept the call by pressing “Accept” on the touch screen or by pressing on your steering wheel controls
• Reject the call by pressing “Reject” on the touch screen or by pressing and holding on your steering wheel controls
• Ignore the call by doing nothing. SYNC will log the call as a missed call
MyFord TouchTM has a “Do Not Disturb” button, so drivers can control how they manage communications while in the car. When on, Do Not Disturb allows you to make outgoing voice-activated calls, but will:
• Blockincomingphonecallsanddivertthemtovoicemail• Blockincomingtextmessagesandsavethemonthephoneforlaterviewing

SourcesThe lower-left smart corner provides access to all entertainment sources — some built into the vehicle (like the radio) and others brought into the vehicle for access to personal media devices. Access is simple through either voice commands or by touch.
Equipped With the Vehicle• AM/FM — select to access AM/FM1/FM2/AST frequency bands,
plus (where available) access subscription-free HD RadioTM technology multicasting (HD1–HD7) along the AM and FM bandwidth spectrum
• AST — select to Autostore the 6 strongest stations in your current location• Sirius — select to access available SAT1/SAT2/SAT3

When this feature is enabled and you are tuned to a station broadcasting HD Radio technology, iTunes Tagging provides you the ability to capture a song’s information, making it easier for later purchase:
•Withasimplepushofthe“TAG”buttonontheradiodisplay,thesong information is stored in the radio’s memory
• Upto100tagscanbestoredonSYNC® until the iPod® is connected to receive the download of metadata. When the iPod is then synced to iTunes, a playlist of “tagged” songs will appear. You then can preview and, if desired, purchase and download tagged songs from the iTunes Store

• Siriusstationscanbetunedusingyourvoice.Simplypress and say “Sirius” followed by the station name (“Alt Nation”) or number (“Twenty-one”)
•WhenlisteningtoSirius,youcansimplypress and call out a new station name or number to tune in
• PressALERTtosavethecurrentsongorartistasafavorite (up to 20 can be saved) and, when either is playing on another station, the system will alert you when it plays again
• PressReplaytoaccessSiriusInstantReplay,whichallowscontrols to pause, rewind or replay up to 44 minutes of radio content

USBYour USB port is inside your center console, and you can control your USB-connected personal devices with voice commands or touch. This feature allows you to plug in media-playing devices, memory sticks, and also to charge devices if they support this feature. You can use USB1orUSB2.Ensurethatyouhavethecorrectonechosenon-screen.
To access, select the lower-left corner of the touch screen to accesstheEntertainmentscreen.Then,selecteitherUSB1 or USB2. You can then select from the following options:
• Browse: Select to browse the contents of the flash drive or digital music player connected to the USB port
•Options: Provides access to sound settings to adjust Bass, Treble, Midrange, Balance and Fade settings
•Similar Music: Select to choose music similar to that currently playing
• Shuffle: Select to play music on the selected album or folder in random order
• Repeat: Select to repeat the currently playing song/album
When equipped with the SD Card-based premium Navigation option, MyFord TouchTM features the Gracenote database of licensed artwork that gives drivers anengagingwaytonavigatetheirdigitalmusiclibrariesfromUSB.Thesystemusesthedatabasetorecognizeanaudiofileandthenlinksthecoincidingalbum cover art for display on the touch screen. Gracenote also improves the voice-recognition capability, allowing drivers to use nicknames for thousands of music artists to access recordings, such as: • Playartist“TheBoss”forBruceSpringsteen

Bluetooth® Streaming AudioTo access, press the lower-left corner on the touch screen and then select BT Stereo to listen to streaming audio from your connected Bluetooth-enabled Smartphone.

MyFord TouchTM locks out the ability to manually type in an address when the vehicle is traveling more than 3 mph, but destination entries can be input using your voice with the simple command “Find an address” or“Finda<pointofinterest>”suchas“Findashoestore.”
